The main reason I like the Commander is because of how close to the XJ it looks, just bigger and how I'd imagine the XJ would look if it got continued. Now having bought one myself, I can say there are many more reasons why I like it, the freaking thing is awesome
I had a XJ here in Australia for 10 years from new was a 2001 jeep Cherokee classic model .. I just wish I never sold it .. I have kids now that could of been driving it . I had 465,000 kms on her .. equals 288,000 miles in USA terms .. 👍👍and the engine was running perfectly still 👍
Thanks for your post Armando! Yea when these first came out I was in my twenty’s with super young kids and I wanted it! But my now ex wife wanted the LR3 instead so we got that :/. It’s all good. Glad I waited till now. My appreciation for things are a lot different now
Personally love my 08 limited qd2 owning many Jeeps i always laugh when I hear it’s not a “real Jeep” until one of my friends wrangler’s get stuck in the mud or snow/ice and I casually pull up and pull them out effortlessly 🤣 then it becomes a real Jeep 🤦♂️
My daughter just traded up from her '03 Nissan Sentra, to an '06 Commander to finish high school and start college. You should have seen the look on her face when she drove off the lot! She worked for 2 years for this day!! Super proud Daddy!!!
Love how you love it! Mine is a black '06 5.7 Hemi. My first Jeep was an 87 Pioneer. I am of the mind, as you, that it's not a cookie cutter. Folks ask why does a 62 year old Grandma need a Hemi? My answer: Who said I NEED it?"
Just got my 2010 3.7 4x4 for $500! 164k miles and a clean title, previous owner hit a deer and insurance totalled it. Clean car, everything works, and nothing more than normal maintenance items needed(and a headlight and some support straightening) Not a hemi, but for the price, I'm not complaining! These things are crazy comfy too
@@OJCoz LOL 😂 That’s the problem I wanna modify everything at once. First thing suspensions for a higher stance, good tires and distancers. For now that is. I will make a video tomorrow and send you the link. I could definitely use some advice.
I just bought a 08 commander last week with 156,000 miles and it's the 4.7 V8 4x4 and paid $4,000 for it. I tell you what I love it, it rides good, looks good and I love how comfortable the interior is. I'm a 3rd owner and the previous owners took real good care of it, it's clean
That’s awesome Brian, congrats!!! I hope she treats you well:). Mine is still treating me good haha. But it is 14 years old.. yours is 15! I’m always keeping a close ear for new sounds and noises it’s making:)
Oh yes, that's me also the first day I took it home I had the radio off windows down listening for sounds it could be making but to my surprise not a sound but the wind and the road lol
Also question I have the standard radio in mine not the touch screen monitor do you know a trick to get the display off of night time mode cuz it's really hard to see the radio during the day and I've tried the light switch and nothing happened to make it brighter any ideas would greatly be appreciated
Oh man with those it’s usually connected to the interior light switches. But if you have already moved those knobs around then it could be that it’s just out or going dim. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about replacing the bulbs on their dash. Figure after 15 years, it shouldn’t be bright
That's the funny thing when I bought it, it worked fine then a few days later the wife said there's a problem with the radio, I said what problem she said I can barely see it I figured she turned the dimmer down but when I checked it, it was turned up and I tried googling it and you tubing it but not a lot of people posted a lot about the commander problem with the radio besides the negative reviews about the Jeep in general I was like whatever that's y'all's opinion I had for a few days and fell in love with it the day I bought it can't wait to lift it and put some good mud tires on it and take the 4x4 on some fun lol
My sister got a 3.7 commander like 5 years ago and I never liked it but when I found out about the 5.7 hemi I had to get it. They are so clean and very fun. I love your build and hope to see some more content.
Love my Commander Overland. Hand me down from the wife though. She has the Grand Cherokee Summit, sweet ride as well. Both with the 5.7s. Took it out in the rain to get our cows back on our side of the fence. I could not get it stuck. thing with road tires handled the mud and swampy are like a champ.
Awesome Chuck’s chick!! Hahah I responded to you a few min ago. I love the Commander pride that you guys have! Please be patient with her bc she is one of a kind:). Thanks for watching my channel yall
I had to chuckle when you said it is a tank. The first time I drove mine, I thought “I’m driving a tank!” I named him Tank right then. I ❤ my Tank Commander. BTW: Tank is an ‘08 4.7L (so not a hemi, but still awesome to drive) and I paid $3500 for him 4 years ago, traded my 2000 GC for him
@@OJCoz well…with 305,000 miles on the odo, he’s been letting me pour some serious $$ into him - whole new suspension, new a/c, and just ordered a new radio & backup cam for him. I have been jokingly referring to “buying a car one part at a time.” But, it’s better than making car payments!
Just bought an '08 4.7 with only 99,000 miles 2 weeks ago. It's got some cosmetic issues I'm working on but seems like a solid vehicle. We've already done mild off-roading with it twice and it's completely stock. Can't wait to get it lifted. It's my 5-year-old's favorite vehicle now.
Love it sir👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I have the 5.7 hemi as well getting ready too fix it up love that sound that's the way I want mine too sound, not overbearing loud just a low growl😎
I currently have a Nissan Xterra...been debating on getting a commander after owning a wrangler...I just love how big it is...plus just a set of wheels and tires makes them so much better looking
Purchased the 4.7l v8 back in 2012 for $13k with 89k miles on it. At 160k now and still going 11 years later. I'm jelly of the hemi with the QDII instead of QTII but it still works. Been eyeing the Gladiator Diesel something fierce but I'm sticking with the Commander until I can upgrade.
when i first bought my commander a couple years ago mines was the only one on the road...but now i see so many of em on the daily...i kinda love and hate when i see another one...lolol
Nah trucker friend. Hopefully it’s great to you! Congrats! And think f it this way, 10k is nothing compared to what people are paying for used cars these days:)
Bro I see your neighbor cross the street hating, especially the green one over there. Lol. I just picked up a 2007 4.7l limited last week. Keep up with the video bro.
I just bought one with the 5.7 hemi today it has 170k miles on it and everyone is saying these are crap and can’t tow much and I’d be better off with an old suburban but I hope to prove them wrong!
Thanks for watching Zook and thanks for your post! Mine has 170k miles with a 5.7 hemi and it’s been a beast! It might need some TLC from time to time but what car doesn’t. Have fun with it and good luck!
I have the 4.7 model and i love it i couldnt find Hemi version but i still got a V8 haha love the video man its nice seein the Comander gettin some love!!!
Your right, we say (fiance and i) the same thang. We don't like the cookie cutter mobiles either, I've been a jeep head since 97 and our 07 commander limited V8 Hemi with saddle Brown leather is one of the best (2012 jeep liberty arctic only 1100 made is my absolute favorite) I've ever owned. They sell them overseas now but look more like the Durango and only available in a V6 and NO offroad packages, I believe these models from the past will be sought after in 10-15 so we're restoring her to stock with some mild upgrades. Keep up the good work on your videos and your build...🔥🤘
This is a brilliant review. It's a real man's car. And by real man I mean anyone that loves a beastly looking ride. I love the front sitting space and the quadro II standard. 5.7L boles of steel for real there. Yours is hhhhot, thanks guy!
Just bought one in all black a month back after the trans on my Ridgeline died. Very please with my decision. Almost got a 4 door Wrangler, but for a family of 5 to load up and head out the Commander was the better choice. 👌
Just found an 06 limited with the 5.7 and 150k miles. Dealer says it runs and drives great. Minor interior wear, a few paint chips, and what looks like a leaking trans oil pan gasket. But other than that it seems clean. Going to look at it again tomorrow to hear it run, get under the hood, and hook up my diag tool to pull any codes. Keeping my fingers crossed. If it checks out, I am buying it (for less than $4k). Then my son can have my 07 3.7 base model Commander!
@@OJCozWell, it wasn't one of of the VINs listed in the maintenance warning. Little bit of rust on rocker panels. Tiny amount of valve cover leakage. Interior just needs a good detailing. Tranny felt smooth and engine runs great. For $3700, I can afford to put a bit of money into it. Now I got me a HEMI!
He's right, you can find deals on commanders if you can find them. I just bought my 06 2 weeks ago in excellent condition for 4 grand, it's the limited with the hemi and 210k on it....that's a steal. And for the same reason as he said, I wanted one because there different and you don't see them on the road like everything else
@groganleon no, they are just rock sliders from rocky road outfitters. Rock sliders that have been tried and tested I would like to add haha. These things are beefy.
Bought my 2007 commander back on Halloween last year. Jeep is in almost new condition, although it came with 200k miles (exactly) already, it’s still a tank! I LOVEEE my Jeep! And mine is the Limited 4x4 4.7 .. it’s accessories are NAV/Bluetooth screen. I’m Inlove with it. Mine was $3800!!! Guess I got pretty lucky on price but as stated, came with high miles. She’s still a trooper tho! Definitely wasn’t taking over 4K for it. I’ve also did many updates to it including a new sunroof. Still have many Mods I’m wanting to do to her! She’s just beautiful. She’s everything I’ve wanted in a truck cus let’s be real, it’s not JUST a car LOL. And just the PURR when she starts up makes me Ooouuu lol. Definitely a great family car especially if you’re a single parent! 7 seater and tbh I think it’s enough room for SMALLER children. Right and they are RARE to see. Since purchasing mine, I’ve seen maybe 2 and one was exactly like mine. ALL BLACK with the pretty grey interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just bought my son an 06 and honestly, I want it!!! Lol besides being a gas guzzler, it is so cool. Always wanted one when they first came out but couldnt afford that. But now I know why I liked them so much. The power and it is different like you said. Got it for $4700 but it does have 250k miles. But runs smooth, drives smooth and transmission shifts flawlessly.
Bought your son a jeep, the hell with that. He should buy his on car. This doesn't teach him any responsibility, just shows him he can run to his little daddy when he wants something bought for him. So pitiful.....
@@Raven-k7x haha, you think you know everyone's situation huh? I grew up that way, had to buy my own staff. He isnt able to hold a job during the school year - he has to focus on school work which is hard for him and he is a varsity cross country and track runner and doesnt have time to work, he has a part time job during the summer to help with gas and some of this insurance. If he wasn't so busy with school then yes, he would buy his own. Also, im a nurse and so is this mom, it helps us with practices and games. He has can gwt himself to events and also get this sister to practice if we work on thise days. So, I think you need to shut your mouth thinking you know whats best for my family.
Merry Christmas 🎄 Eve! I luv my Commander, I e named her Black Beauty, she has some scars, but she still a good ole Jeep. ( a tree 🌲 fell on her) ins totaled it, so we bought it back ! I absolutely couldn’t let them salvage a perfectly good Jeep.
I got my 2006 with 160,000 miles on it, its the 3 litre v6 diesel Mercedes engine and i got it for £1700 blind buy. When I went to pick it up from auction there was nothing wrong with it other than a wheel bearing 🤣 was the most luckiest buy I've ever had .... still running now after about a year and half and still nothing .... best buy ever
I’ve just subscribed from the UK. I’m hoping to get a commander over here soon, but will no doubt be the CRD. Loving your content so far! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to any new content 🍻
Great car! I am on about now in England to buy one . Just looking and I really like your review is amaizing 👌🏻✨👏 It was great time to watching you! I b coming back to u Man ! Take care!
I just got my first Jeep as my first truck/suv and it’s a 06 Jeep commander with the 5.7 as well that’s actually why I sold on it, my dad tells me not to put a lot of money in it but this thing runs so well, I don’t have a reason to not just buff it up like yours… I’d love to put a darker tint, rims and tires, it’s already got an audio system and sub, some bigger bumpers and it would be solid
That’s awesome Jayden! Congrats brother! Just remember, a little bit at a time:). Have fun with it and represent Commanders! Haha and no, I’m not talking Washington’s nfl team…( I see your a Pats fan:)
I had an 08 v6 years ago and got rid of it. Recently got another 08 v6 commander. Good to see more and more out there. I plan on diesel swapping mine when the engine gives out. I use it mainly for snow right now so I have no need for either v8 or the diff lock. Need more aftermarket options as stated in your other video. I got mine clean. 08 with 120k miles for 8k. Keep it up. Maybe a video of aftermarket vendors people can go to for these beasts.
Thanks for your post trial by fire homestead. I appreciate the support. An engine swap with a diesel would be pretty cool. Let me know when that happens, id like t know more about it.
Hi, great content! Here in the UK I am stuck for a aftermarket rear bumper. Yours looks amazing, can you share the details of your aftermarket rear bumper with me please. Thanks Neil
Sure Neil and thanks for watching brother! I got the bumper from WAMbumpers.com. Small business but they make front and rear for a lot of older forgotten models:).
I'm listening but I can't stop looking at those Wranglers across the road... Love my Commander too, although having a few 'new owner' issues to deal with.
Ha yea the wranglers heard me talking about them. Good luck with those issues though. I just had to replace my cracked radiator and my heat just went out which is going to cost 1400 bucks:). I guess I’ll drive cold then lol
@@OJCoz That's an expensive one! Only minor issues for me so far, new front prop, ABS sensor, battery, now glow plugs and control unit. Once the small issues are done I have my eye on wheel and suspension set up, looking forward to that! Enjoying the videos..
Wow they where cheep in US! In norway they came at the price of 90 000! As a 5 -7 seat. 2 seat was around 45k.(yes we have weird import rules, it’s so that businesses can get affordable work cars) Looking to get a 3.0 diesel now, gas is extremely expensive in norway. But am really excited!
I love that u can switch the gears like a stick shift and driving it is very comfortable and it's pretty fast 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥 and what's the cool air intake and exhaust set up?
Couldn’t agree with you more on both likes and dislikes with Commander I have a 2010 limited with Hemi and one thing I don’t pass up is fuel stations, also where did you get your accessories such as roof rack & rear spare tire & fuel/water racks looks very good on there………
Thanks Brad! Man I had to go all over the place for them. I have them all in my early videos but the majority of the stuff is from Amazon. The fuel can holders for example I had to take to my welder to modify it to fit on my tire arm
Went to a car lot out of all the cars this is the only one that stood out. Im torn its really nice only $6k, i just need to decide if the fuel costs will be worth it.
For 6K? I don’t think it’s a very great deal. Considering you could find the 4.7 or the 5.7 hemi for about the same price with a little bit of miles on them. I’m sure this when you’re looking at his High on miles
Well sure faster but also more power and torque. More gas too:). 156k isn’t bad for an 06 model. But if your looking into taking it on trailer and maybe even towing something with it in the future, I would go with the V8 version
Very underrated Jeep. I think it was a lead engineer for Chrysler talked trash about the Commander in a past issue of 4wheel and off road magazine. Kind of strange.
last August I bought a 2008 Jeep Commander Overland very similar to yours. When I bought it, it has 18" wheels on it but the tires were too big and they rubbed in the wheel well. It does have a slight lift ( I think) but they rubbed. I'm curious as to what size tires you have on yours. Great video. I also watched the "5 things I hate about my Jeep Commander" video as well. Loved it! Thank you.
Hi James thanks for your post brother. My tire size is 285/75/18 on an 18 inch rim with a neg 18 offset. I’m glad you enjoy the videos! We have a very capable rig:)
I think what’s going on is that you need an offset. The wheels need to be pushed out a bit. When I first got the truck before the big lift I went to 265/75/18 but I needed spacers. So I got 1 1/4 inch spacers. It gave it a better stance as well
Thank u so much for this video I been going back and forth about buying one been wanting one for years n you helped me decide thank u sir new subscriber 👍 congratulations on your channel 👍
If you look closely you see a lot of FSJ influence in the design.. almost like a continuation of the original Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer & Cherokee Chief Especially when built!!🔥🔥🔥
@@OJCoz No problem man love the channel!! I’ve had mine since 2014 put 110,000 miles on it built it & about to do another major build to it drivetrain etc
Good luck my man! If you have a mechanic you can take it to do so before the buyers return policy runs out! That would be with any car. I had good luck with mine and have heard of many that have had great luck with our commanders but I have also heard of horror stories…. That would be with any car. You can do a lot with visual and hearing it but a mechanic would help to really look at the guts.
@@OJCoz I've been in my schools auto program for 2 years now so any sort of mechanical work that needs to be done (minus any bearings, because fuck bearings) I can do myself.
I’ve heard of a lot of issues with radiator and coolant pump bc it’s plastic. Mine busted off-roading just tweaking the car on obstacles. Replaced the radiator with aluminum one instead of the plastic OEM So are you getting it?
I have loved these trucks for years now but still yet to own one. I have what I think is a mini me version, 😆a modified Liberty KK . I am presently looking for a Commander though in Australia and after the 3.0 diesel. How is the rest of car for reliability ie: drivetrain, electrics etc. I know a lot of Jeep owners in general have some electrical gremlins, I have a couple in the KK. Cheers bro and nice looking rig you have there.
Thank you Mr. Manadala! I have had a few gremlins peek their head but I always have to remember it’s a 14 year old truck. I currently have no heat. Other then that I’ve had nothing other then wear and tear from my doing :). Thanks for watching!:)
Hi Jeep friend! I, too, have a Commander, n I Love it! I aspire to have mine looking as fresh as yours. What type of muffler and tail pipe do you have?
Hi there! Thanks for your post. And for watching. I put a MBRP cat back exhaust on it. Plus I have a KNN cold air intake. And together it makes the truck sound really nice ha ha.
Hey what’s up MJ. From the factory it sits raked nose down but you can fix that cheap and easy. I’m not too sure about being decent on mpgs though haha.
Oh it has power for sure but it loves gas and definitely not fast. Built to last and run things over like a "tank". I do wanna raise the front end but not sure if I should just go ahead and lift the entire Jeep
Hey Norman if you get a rough country 2 inch spacer you end up doing both giving it a slight lift and leveling. I believe the rear is 2 and the front is 3. Plus it’s a well made lift. I ran it for 2 years before going a little bigger
I'm thinking of selling my 06 jeep commander because I own 8 vehicles and send I bought a 07 land rover lr3 the commander been collecting dust and I also bout a Mercedes Benz sprinter van 3.0 cargo van to convert into home on wheels its time to trim the fat I have fell in love with land rovers even tho my jeep commander I had tons of future plans they didn't go far because of other vehicles came into my life, the land rover lr3 has so much to offer that the commander doesn't for me besides muscle of a 5.7 hemi it's been fun but time to go , I also love the discovery 2 build I see just more functional and quirks besides I also own a built out yota fj cruiser 6 speed manual with a Magnuson supercharger so the jeep commander will be sold 😊
Wow James that’s awesome and yea it sounds like a lot. I had an LR3 back in the day and loved it. Well, if you sale the Commander, just make sure it goes to a good home:)
I have a 2008 Jeep Commander I want to put bigger tires on it a winch on the front of it and do a whole bunch more stuff to it probably put 4 in or three and a half inch spring lift
Awesome video watching in NYC I have a 2007 v8 i bought used 2 years ago I love it except the drain hose from the sunroof I had it air pressure cleaned it still does it on the passenger side any suggestions does yours come with a cd player i don't have one happy holidays to you and the family
Thanks for watching and posting Justice! Mine hose flooded my sticker side two months after I got it. I took the flooring out and found were the hose runs to the bottom and cut a bigger hole to drain. When I snipped it so much dirt came out. I didn’t have air to blast it. But I did that for both sides and no issues so far. And yea mine came with a cd player but I barely use it. I usually drive with my radio on for peace and quiet haha. Any bro Merey Christmas to you and your family and if you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask
Few things I've found that helps... I park on a slight front up slope so the sunroof is level. I also changed the rubber that goes around the sunroof itself, new one was a bit thicker and seals better. Also mine leaked on the passenger side actually through the top of the body. Behind the door seal at the top of the windshield there's a hole and the door seal wasn't keeping water out, little dab of sealer took care of that.
@@OJCoz yes sir, got tired of pulling the carpet to dry it out. The hole above the door eluded me for a long time. I pulled the A pillar covers and the headliner down and had the wife spray it with a hose till I found it.
Neatest thing was most of the used ones were rich folks cars and traded in on the newest suv's. Most folks looking for Jeeps went for the used cherokees and these became invisible to the off-road seeking buyer. So dealers lowered the prices to move them off the lot.
Jay that’s 100%. Mine was 9 years old when I bought it with 89k miles. It was super clean but when I derailed it I found a couple of long white hair! Haha old folks:). That means it was nicely taken care of
Who made your bumpers and where did you get them? I have a 2007 jeep grand cherokee, with 3 liter diesel and others things, and since we share the same underpinnings and i have had zero luck finding nice bumpers... great looking rig! Where in VA are you? Merry Christmas!
Hy Rick! Check out WAMbumbers.com. They have them for your year grand Cherokee. After covid they stopped making certain ones for a while but now they are back. I’m in Williamsburg brother and I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
Hi Asali and thank you for your post:). So the front and rear bumper I got from wambumper.com. And for the rear, you choose if you want a “tire arm”. You can also buy a tire arm that connect straight to your rear hitch which is cheaper but doesn’t look as great. Something like this: dirtcomusa.com/products/accessory-hitch-for-trail-swing?variant=40078041546809&gclid=Cj0KCQiAzeSdBhC4ARIsACj36uFT9M_LH1nSe7jjBDs4uHns3vYb0vcm-_Ec2oMMQqBt-uHdrN1ckNMaAgW-EALw_wcB
Got my 09 commander's in 2019 with 129,450 miles it's the limited with the 5.7L hemi. White paid 6000 for it I want to lift it but nervous it rides so nice I'm afraid mechanic might screw it up. Also got a 05 ram 1500 quad cab in silver with the 5.7L hemi that I bought new in 05 love them both
That’s awesome BigT! I’m glad your enjoying it. And if you do a 2inch rough country lift it won’t change ride quality at all until you get the beefy tires. But nothing mechanically changes like the control arm angle for example. And that’s great about the RAM. It’s rare now a days that people keep their rides for that long. Nicely done!
@@OJCoz hey thanks for advice on R.C 2" lift rough country recommends 265/70r/17 tires but I've read some say that they rubbed some while others had no problem any thoughts on this ?
What’s up Big T!! So I ended up getting spacers for my tires if your going to keep factory rims. When I first got the lift I got spacers and it went from a lot of rub to very very little. If your going to change out the rims then go with an offset. I went to a discount tires and they were able to tell me for my 4inch lift
@@OJCoz Yeah, I'm looking on buying a V8 Hemi.. 2009 or 2010. They are still pretty pricey. I'll keep my 07 sport to have a second but eventually sell it. Just started looking around.
Very nice. Every once in a while I look in my area and don’t see much. The one I do find look very run down. Good luck man and keep me posted when you do find something.
Hi I have the same commander but 3.0 diesel my wish is to make it like yours now here in zambia to find parts it's a problem how can you help me to find those bull Bar
Hi Alex, thanks for watching and for your post! The bumper I got from wambumbers.com. You can call them and ask if they will ship it to you but it might be pricey. It’s really hard to find parts for the commander anyway just because it’s not a super popular vehicle.
The only thing that I’ve seen consistently that works without doing too much extra to the jeep is a rough country 2 inch spacer lift. When I first got my jeep, I had one of these and they worked great. Now I have the 4 inch super lift, the problem is that lift is discontinued, the only other thing I can tell you is to go to the jeep commander forum, and check out what other people have done with shocks and coil overs
Haha I hear you Matt and thanks for your post. I got the bumpers from WAM. unfortunately, because of all the shortages in workers they can’t make any right now.
What’s up Pothead! Thanks for watching brother. I have a WAM front and rear bumper. The lift is a 4inch superlift but that is discontinued. I had a 2 inch rough country lift before that and it worked great! When i had the 2inch lift, i did have wheel spacers because i still had the stock rims. I believe they were 3/4inch spacers. Now i run Black Rhino with a negative 18 offset, so no spacers.
Hello sir I've just found you, I live in UK and I own a beautiful 3.0 crd jeep commander, can you answer me something, you obviously love your jeep as I do mine, I look at mine in the car park, I smile lol, I get in her and, that feeling sir, I don't understand that feeling
The main reason I like the Commander is because of how close to the XJ it looks, just bigger and how I'd imagine the XJ would look if it got continued. Now having bought one myself, I can say there are many more reasons why I like it, the freaking thing is awesome

4.7L V8. 195K. Needs Tranny Cooler lines and shocks/struts. A couple minor seal leaks. New diff, water pump and xfer case. $3700
New stuff came on the rig, not needed now!
Ha that’s awesome Nessie. I’m glad we think alike!!! I don’t need a Hemi but I damn sure glad I have it:)

Wow that’s a great find Jerry! Bravo brother
I just got my commander 2 weeks ago and I totally love my Jeep. It is a Tank, It is rare and definitely unique.
Awesome Besfort!! So what are you going to modify first? Haha
@@OJCoz LOL 😂 That’s the problem I wanna modify everything at once.
First thing suspensions for a higher stance, good tires and distancers. For now that is. I will make a video tomorrow and send you the link. I could definitely use some advice.
That’s great Besfort haha. Little by little man:). I will help in any way I can
I have a 06 hemi commander and I love her !!!! Did a few mods. Lift. Air intake. Flow master exhaust. And Bullydog programmer.
That’s awesome! How does it run with that programmer?
We just bought our 2007 Commander, and we LOVE it. Serves us well as a family vehicle and allows me to maintain my manliness while driving it. 😂
Ha that’s awesome Chris! Both of those points are important to me too!
I have the 3.7 was all I could find in my area but I still love it , and yeah bro this car outperforms so many things on the road
Awesome Wes! Are you planning to modify it any?
My sister got a 3.7 commander like 5 years ago and I never liked it but when I found out about the 5.7 hemi I had to get it. They are so clean and very fun. I love your build and hope to see some more content.
Awesome Finn and thanks for your support. Your right they are a lot of fun and very capable.
Haha herding cows with a commander sounds awesome! Thanks for your post Sgt! Thank you for your service.
Love your jeep. I have a 06 black Commander.
Thank you Anna!
I have the 06 4.7 V8 and I love it! Only cost $5300 with 115k miles at an auction. That truck loves the road!
Awesome Chuck’s chick!! Hahah I responded to you a few min ago. I love the Commander pride that you guys have! Please be patient with her bc she is one of a kind:). Thanks for watching my channel yall
Canada here, 2000 wj, nice ride brethren...that dodo comment had me laughing...keep turning that wrench...one love
Hey thanks SoundBoy Design!!
I had to chuckle when you said it is a tank. The first time I drove mine, I thought “I’m driving a tank!” I named him Tank right then. I ❤ my Tank Commander.
BTW: Tank is an ‘08 4.7L (so not a hemi, but still awesome to drive) and I paid $3500 for him 4 years ago, traded my 2000 GC for him
Wow that’s awesome Debbie! I’m glad to hear Tank is holding up strong! Thanks for watching:)
Absolutely right! Good luck with the ol boy
That’s awesome JT and 99k is a good find! Hopefully she takes care of you. Just keep showing her some love:)
Love it sir👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I have the 5.7 hemi as well getting ready too fix it up love that sound that's the way I want mine too sound, not overbearing loud just a low growl😎
Thanks bro I appreciate that! I love the little growl of the hemi too ha ha
@@OJCoz AWESOME!
Just bought a 2006 commander with 44560 origonal miles. Has the V6, but runs great. Perfect shape
Wow that’s a gem! Super low miles!
You got a dry sense of humor. It works. Got a couple good laughs.
What gets even less props from the Jeep Peeps?
A Jeep Liberty.
Haha thanks brother! I’m glad you liked the video!
I´d really like to own a commander like this!!! I absolutely miss my cherokee sport, and both has the same line!! congrats bro
Thanks brother! I appreciate it and thanks for watching! You might get lucky and find one for the right price:)
Bro, that thing sounds awesome. Watching it all come together over your past episodes, impressive.
Thanks bro! I appreciate the support!! And the borrowed tools;)
I currently have a Nissan Xterra...been debating on getting a commander after owning a wrangler...I just love how big it is...plus just a set of wheels and tires makes them so much better looking
I agree. But what’s funny is that if I didn’t have the commander I would have loved a 2015 xterra! Haha. I like those a lot.
Nothing wrong with a diesel Gladiator upgrade! But it sounds like your Commander is still taking care of you just fine. Thanks for your post Tyrad!
when i first bought my commander a couple years ago mines was the only one on the road...but now i see so many of em on the daily...i kinda love and hate when i see another one...lolol
Haha yea I feel the exact same way! Lol
I can relate....🤣🤣😅
We are all one of a kind chuck and gypsy!!! Drive it with pride!!
I can't wait to get my commander I have a Wrangler but man I've always wanted hey Jeep Commander it's been my dream car
Oh yeah. It’s awesome! I love mine haha. It’s gonna be awesome when you mod it up:)
Just bought a Commander 4x4 with V6. Got it for $8,300 with 111k miles. I’ve seen good things and bad things, but I like it. :)
Awesome Aaron! You found one with decent miles, congrats. Planning on doing anything to it?
I'm an idiot..I just paid 10k with 96000 miles. But it's red and immaculate.
Nah trucker friend. Hopefully it’s great to you! Congrats! And think f it this way, 10k is nothing compared to what people are paying for used cars these days:)
@@OJCoz thx
Bro I see your neighbor cross the street hating, especially the green one over there. Lol. I just picked up a 2007 4.7l limited last week. Keep up with the video bro.
Hahaha!! Yup. It will take more then 2 to hold me down!! Thanks for the support man!!
always compiition with the neighbors
Haha true.. a friendly competition:)
Stumbled across your page, this is an extremely well made video. Lol
Thanks brother!! And thank you for watching!
Thanks Eric! I appreciate the compliment and the support bro!!!
Wow thanks for your post and for your encouragement! Great find!!
This is a brilliant review. It's a real man's car. And by real man I mean anyone that loves a beastly looking ride. I love the front sitting space and the quadro II standard. 5.7L boles of steel for real there. Yours is hhhhot, thanks guy!
Thanks Veeru and thank you for your post brother!
Just bought mine for 4k last month and i love it ! 06 btw
Awesome Ezra! Congrats on your new-to-you beast!
Your Commander is awesome dude!
Thanks Juicey< I appreciate that brother!
Just bought one in all black a month back after the trans on my Ridgeline died. Very please with my decision. Almost got a 4 door Wrangler, but for a family of 5 to load up and head out the Commander was the better choice. 👌
That’s awesome Prstox. I hope it treats you and your family well:). Planning on doing any mods to it?
@@OJCoz probably a luggage rack this spring and a good electric winch. Gonna get this rig ready for tons of camping and fishing trips!!
Sounds awesome brother have fun with it!
I really love this car
And it deserves its name
The Commander of Real Commander
Haha thanks Tyrant! I like that name a lot!
Yea try to check out as much as you can haha! Even if it gets on the dealers nerves
Hell yeah!! Congrats man!!! Happy for you brother
Loved that joke about 5 kids lol, great video, thanks!
Thank you and thanks for watching Edgars!
Great minds think alike Mike!
Very nice dude. All the best from Poland
Thanks Pking!!! And thanks for watching!
Hello I just dought a used 2006 Commander. noticed you have the power steps . where did you find them
Hi thanks for watching! I don’t know what you mean by power steps. Are you talking about the rock sliders?
Oh I thought they were the AMP steps that fold out when you open door.
Memory that’s awesome! It sounds like you love yours as much as I love mine! Keep me updated on all the mods you continue doing to her!
That’s awesome Norman! Tell your son I said congrats! Haha. Now it’s time to buy you one!
Nice looking Commander. Love what you’ve done to it.
Thanks brother and thanks for watching!
May of Last year got the 5.7 Limited with around 60k. Yes it actually had 60k on it. Love it through and through!
Wow that’s a really good find Christopher!! That’s awesome. I hope she’s running well for you
Merry Christmas 🎄 Eve! I luv my Commander, I e named her Black Beauty, she has some scars, but she still a good ole Jeep. ( a tree 🌲 fell on her) ins totaled it, so we bought it back ! I absolutely couldn’t let them salvage a perfectly good Jeep.
That is an awesome story Kristy! Haha. Not even a tree can break black beauty:). Thanks for posting and Merry Christmas!
Hell yeah Lee great find and congrats!!!! I bet that thing is a beast with that diesel!
Love my black 2010 V8 5.7 hemi Limited, I love Unique things, and this is perfect (acquired taste), cheers!
Your absolutely right!! Great minds think alike:)

Take care!
Thanks Piotr! Good luck and keep me posted when you find one!!
The commander is the best.
I love mine
Hell yeah!
I just got mines I love it
Awesome Olivia! Thanks for your post:)
Awesome! Who’s your across the street neighbor? Love his driveway olllllllo
Haha Bruce! He’s an awesome neighbor with two badass Jeeps!
i got the V8 4.7 and it a beast
That’s awesome Nicholas! I hope she treats you well brother
I enjoy your channel I have a 2006 commander and a 2012 wrangler the commander is like riding on a cloud compared to the wrangler. Merry Christmas
Thank you Artie and Merry Christmas my friend!
Thanks brother!
Wow they where cheep in US! In norway they came at the price of 90 000! As a 5 -7 seat. 2 seat was around 45k.(yes we have weird import rules, it’s so that businesses can get affordable work cars)
Looking to get a 3.0 diesel now, gas is extremely expensive in norway. But am really excited!
Awesome Ein! I hope you enjoy it!
@@OJCoz thank you!
I love that u can switch the gears like a stick shift and driving it is very comfortable and it's pretty fast 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥 and what's the cool air intake and exhaust set up?

Have a 06 Limited with the HEMI. Love it when the other jeeps cant hang.
Exactly Matt! Thanks for posting man!
Damn that engine sounds good as hell!! I have a Black 2006... Bought it an an auction for $400!!
Thanks Anson! I love the way It sounds! And $400!? Damn that’s awesome! How is she treating you?
@@OJCoz Surprisingly well. After seeing you rig, I'm inspired!
Haha awesome Anson! Now it’s time to go to work! Keep me posted on your rig mods
Went to a car lot out of all the cars this is the only one that stood out. Im torn its really nice only $6k, i just need to decide if the fuel costs will be worth it.
Ye Veagan Kid for sure. The gas sucks and remember it’s an older truck so it might need some work. But it is unique:)
@@OJCoz the one i looked at is a 3.7l v6. Is that bad?
For 6K? I don’t think it’s a very great deal. Considering you could find the 4.7 or the 5.7 hemi for about the same price with a little bit of miles on them. I’m sure this when you’re looking at his High on miles
@@OJCoz is the 5.7 hemi much faster? Its at 156k miles
Well sure faster but also more power and torque. More gas too:). 156k isn’t bad for an 06 model. But if your looking into taking it on trailer and maybe even towing something with it in the future, I would go with the V8 version
I drive a 3.7 v6, it has power for what it is if I’m honest n it does well off-roading but I wish I had the 5.7 v8, mainly cuz of the sexy v8 sound😩
What’s up OriginAl! Thank you for your post. As long as your happy with your Beast, that’s all that matters:)
Very underrated Jeep. I think it was a lead engineer for Chrysler talked trash about the Commander in a past issue of 4wheel and off road magazine. Kind of strange.
Yeah I remember reading that article. It was very strange actually. All he did was talk badly about it
If these had came with a straight front axels these would be very popular
100%!!
Thanks for watching and your post Thomas
Looks like mine but I need to add the cool back bumper and the cold air intake I love my commander
Awesome John! Definitely one of a kind anywhere you go
I like your tires and lift on your jeep
Thanks Cade!! I appreciate your post and compliment man!!
last August I bought a 2008 Jeep Commander Overland very similar to yours.
@@OJCoz yeah.. that's what was on mine when I bought it and was rubbing. I went to a 265/65/18. Still rubs a bit. Was thinking perhaps a 255/60/18?
I think what’s going on is that you need an offset. The wheels need to be pushed out a bit. When I first got the truck before the big lift I went to 265/75/18 but I needed spacers. So I got 1 1/4 inch spacers. It gave it a better stance as well
@@OJCoz thank you. I'll look into it

@@OJCoz No problem man love the channel!! I’ve had mine since 2014 put 110,000 miles on it built it & about to do another major build to it drivetrain etc
Awesome man. Mine just rolled over 180k. I feel like it’s got a lot of life still in her but a rebuild might be coming soon:)
Would make for more great content if you do bro!!🙏🏾🔥🦅💯
Very true haha
About to buy a 2007 Commander as my first vehicle, heres to hoping it has a solid frame
Well damn your way ahead of the game!
@@OJCoz Took a better look, rockers are pretty rotted, frame is solid, engine is a 3.7 and the coolant pump is leaking. A lot better than expected.
I’ve heard of a lot of issues with radiator and coolant pump bc it’s plastic. Mine busted off-roading just tweaking the car on obstacles. Replaced the radiator with aluminum one instead of the plastic OEM
So are you getting it?
You can also buy them with a very torquey and fuel efficient 3.0 CRD engine in ROW! (Now that I don't live in the US I finally own one!)
How is that engine treating you? Wish they had those here for sure!
I love my jeep commander 2010
Thanks for your post Spline! Long live the Commander! Haha
And also, I've seen some pretty tricked out overloading KK. They seem pretty capable. and like the Commander, a different breed from the norm.
And together it makes the truck sound really nice ha ha.
been curious abt this jeep. im lookin for a newer ride thts sits high power and speed. decent mpg as well. this seems to fit my needs
Love ya vids bro
Thanks Michael!!!
I have a 2008 Jeep Commander I want to put bigger tires on it a winch on the front of it and do a whole bunch more stuff to it probably put 4 in or three and a half inch spring lift
That sounds awesome Brian ! A little lift and some aggressive tires makes all the difference
Nice brother thanks for your post!
@@OJCoz yes sir, got tired of pulling the carpet to dry it out. The hole above the door eluded me for a long time. I pulled the A pillar covers and the headliner down and had the wife spray it with a hose till I found it.
@theguyjt7921 persistence pays off haha
What's the correct name for the spare tire in the back I would like to get that setup for my commander. But I'm not sure the right name.
Hi Asali and thank you for your post:). So the front and rear bumper I got from wambumper.com. And for the rear, you choose if you want a “tire arm”. You can also buy a tire arm that connect straight to your rear hitch which is cheaper but doesn’t look as great. Something like this: dirtcomusa.com/products/accessory-hitch-for-trail-swing?variant=40078041546809&gclid=Cj0KCQiAzeSdBhC4ARIsACj36uFT9M_LH1nSe7jjBDs4uHns3vYb0vcm-_Ec2oMMQqBt-uHdrN1ckNMaAgW-EALw_wcB
I hope that helped. Let me know if you have any more questions
@@OJCoz thanks for the info on the lift I'm going to do it. Just found your channel this morning good stuff. I subscribed 👍
Thanks BigT. I’m fairly new at this but I’m trying haha
Thank you for this video. Just subscribed! I have a black 07 Sport 3.7 V6. Thinking of looking for a V8 Hemi. Yours is absolutely awesome. Nice job.
Awesome Juan thanks for subscribing and posting brother!
Sorry for the short message Juan I was still at work. Are you thinking just upgrading the whole truck Or are you thinking upgrading engine?
@@OJCoz Yeah, I'm looking on buying a V8 Hemi.. 2009 or 2010. They are still pretty pricey. I'll keep my 07 sport to have a second but eventually sell it. Just started looking around.
Very nice. Every once in a while I look in my area and don’t see much. The one I do find look very run down. Good luck man and keep me posted when you do find something.
Nice car😊. Im looking in too buying a 7 Seats like that. there is not so many like that in Norway mostly 3l diesel.
Ha yea and heee people would kill for diesel
Good luck and thanks for your post
Where did you get - so i can look at where you got that front bumper ? I just bought one and this is what i been looking for to add
WAM bumper.com. They actually have 3 versions to pick from with add ons. Great people to deal with to! Good luck brother
Hi
I have the same commander but 3.0 diesel my wish is to make it like yours now here in zambia to find parts it's a problem how can you help me to find those bull Bar
Hi Alex, thanks for watching and for your post! The bumper I got from wambumbers.com. You can call them and ask if they will ship it to you but it might be pricey. It’s really hard to find parts for the commander anyway just because it’s not a super popular vehicle.
Good afternoon
We just got a 07 sport and I’m trying to find a list of things I need to lift this particular Jeep ., could you help us pls ?
The only thing that I’ve seen consistently that works without doing too much extra to the jeep is a rough country 2 inch spacer lift. When I first got my jeep, I had one of these and they worked great. Now I have the 4 inch super lift, the problem is that lift is discontinued, the only other thing I can tell you is to go to the jeep commander forum, and check out what other people have done with shocks and coil overs
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I’m happy to help.
Where did u find those bumpers. Have 06 commander hemi. It love hate relationship
Haha I hear you Matt and thanks for your post. I got the bumpers from WAM. unfortunately, because of all the shortages in workers they can’t make any right now.
What front bumber is that? And what lift kit/suspension do you recommend? Do you have wheel spacers?
What’s up Pothead! Thanks for watching brother. I have a WAM front and rear bumper. The lift is a 4inch superlift but that is discontinued. I had a 2 inch rough country lift before that and it worked great! When i had the 2inch lift, i did have wheel spacers because i still had the stock rims. I believe they were 3/4inch spacers. Now i run Black Rhino with a negative 18 offset, so no spacers.
@Overlanding Jst Coz appreciate the fast reply. Definitely going to get that front bumper first.
Hell yea! It’s solid!
Hello sir I've just found you, I live in UK and I own a beautiful 3.0 crd jeep commander, can you answer me something, you obviously love your jeep as I do mine, I look at mine in the car park, I smile lol, I get in her and, that feeling sir, I don't understand that feeling
Haha what's up sir, Yea I get in mine and feel the same way brother.
