Thank you. I hope that it's helpful. This video was filmed over three weeks, which always makes things difficult, but I wanted to include a lot of what I was looking for before I started this project. Thanks for watching.
I've been following you since you got the Commander. The way you have transformed it is incredible. I'm stuck in neutral with my Commander. The weather in Boston, plus not having a garage, sucks. You continue to inspire me to get a lift, rims & tires. Again, your's is/has been an Apex Commander. It looks sick, amazing & awesome with the new tires/lift 👏! Can't wait to see what's next. Happy New Year!
Thank you! It's tough when you don't have a garage. I didn't have one for years, but don't give up. I'm sure you find a way to make some headway on your build. Thanks so much for watching. I'm so glad you are enjoying the build. Happy New Year.
Seriously cool build. I got a commander that I want to lift and fit 33s. I'll definitely be following this build. It's nice to see someone doing something like this that many people just don't do for some reason. This car is well underrated.
Looks great! I have been doing little mods on my Commander but on the "cheap" like adding exterior hood latches for a more rugged look. Next mod will be doing a wrap on the top to give my Commander the look of having a removable top.
Nice video. On my Commander I am running a modified OME lift. (OME heavy duty coils & Bilstein 5100’s on the 1st setting). I too chose the RRO UCA for the same reasons. I’ve had them on for 2 years and have had no issues with them.
If I was starting fresh right now, I would do the same thing you did. When I bought my suspension pieces it was during the pandemic and lots of stuff was on back order. So that's why I did everything the way that I did. Glad to hear about the RRO UCA's. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I don't want to speak for him, but I'm pretty sure he is talking about the lowest setting which is 3/4 inch. Anything higher and you will have axle angle issues.
Where's the beef!? It's on them 33's! Dude the rig looks fkn gnarly, not a bad way to invest that Christmas bonus! I'm still curious on whether you'll do a wrap or not, I wouldn't but it's always cool to see where you go with your ideas. You should've had Kelly film you driving up so we could see the tank on the street! Merry New Year's XDD nation, cheers!
Merry Christmas, JC! Yes, the wrap is happening and I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that it will be awesome. I'm going to pick up some small samples of colors shortly to help narrow down the decision soon. It's going to be a unique wrap, but subtle. Thanks for always watching and Happy New Year!
The commander looks awesome! This is some really great information! I have a WK Hemi and I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a complete suspension rebuild and lifting it at the same time. I'm definitely going to check out the products you used. I'd really like to be able to fit a set of 255/80/17 tires and go for the skinny 33" look. Did you take hub to fender measurements after adding the spacers? I'm curious how this combo compares to the traditional OME + 5100s.
I did not because my cv axles are damn near perfect. If you decide to go through with the suspension lift get the OME HD springs for the extra weight of the hemi. 💪 Thanks for watching!
I just got a 2007 Cammander going to put 35’s on and lift and that’s the max before I gotta change gearing and if I have to upgrade gears then I’ll go 38’s but those 33’s I think are to small for me. Looks good on yours but thinking at least 35’s and see. Detroit
On the heater hoses, just order the hoses without the rear heat/AC and you will not have to mess with any elbows etc. they fit perfectly. I deleted mine too after it was always problematic to prevent the leak at the T’s
Just replaced my heater core T hoses a few months ago. Pain in the you know what. Be ready to pull your intake if you change the entire hose. A lot of people just cut the T out and use a brass T or 90 to replace it but that looks pretty rough.
I'm going to do this soon. I'll be replacing the T with a L. I'm going to delete the rear AC and heat. I don't ever use it and it's one more thing to fail. Thanks for watching.
Could you do a video of the whole parts list .. one that would show what’s all needed and best place to get everything for us who want to get it done but don’t have help around.. I would really appreciate it if. It thanks again and the ride looks amazing
What are the biggest tires you can fit on a 2010 Jeep Commander without a lift and spacers? Of course, you would still have to do the trimming and pinch welding.
Hey man that thang looks sick! I just bought a 07. So in your opinion if you were starting fresh top to bottom what parts would you run to make those 33s fit. I’m not experienced with this stuff but I am planning on purchasing the rro upper control arm to get started but for the rest I’m kinda lost on.
Nice video, I have the Jeep WH in Australia but same platform, good to see people still modding them. Believe it or not, I’m sure I’m the only one in Australia running 4” superlift lift with 35” tyres. Also just learned about the kryptonite ball joints. Thanx
I guess I missed it but how much did you actually lift the suspension in the front and rear? Maybe I got it wrong but was it a 2 inch spacer in the back and that somehow got you 4 inches?
1 HWY, 0 CTY. I don't track it. I have no idea. I can tell you that the tranny is doing great. It shifts better than ever. However, I probably would regear if I went anything bigger than 33's. Thanks for watching.

Could you go with the rc 2 inch lift with these h&r springs you used ? The rc lift looks like a plate like the one you put in but a little bigger would it be the same height ?
No. It would be close to a 6 inch lift and your axles would basically be falling out of your front differential. If you want a 6 inch lift, buy a Jeep Wrangler.
Hi i am wondering if Bilstein 5100 in front and Bilstein 4600 in rear would be compatible as i cannot find B5100 complete set. Your advise would be great as you have Konis in front and Bilstein in rear.

I've been following your videos for quite some time on your Jeep Commander and you doing a great job! I just bought an 06 Commander with a 5.7 . Want to do a lift nothing major... I'm thinking about just running a set of Bilstein 4600 will the 22 mm spacer. Hope and that'll give me about an 1.5 inch Lift? With stock springs you think the Ride is going to be Less desirable than the lift springs? Again love you videos and the info!
I would replace your springs too. Your XK is 17 years old now and has the heaviest engine. Those stock springs are sagging and worn by now. The ride will only improve with springs that provide a lift. I guarantee it. Thanks for watching.
Another question please... If I run those lift springs you suggest what about the rear end does it go up to inches as well? If so then we've got the leveling issue still to deal with?! Have you sold your uppers and joints? Having trouble finding your email address... Would love to communicate with more... You're a wealth of knowledge on the Commander!!! Thanks! Ron
@@ronthompson5702 Yes, the rear will go up as well. If you want a level look you can add some like Rusty's strut plates. Check them out at Rusty's Off-road.
