    I got my fork bolt out just fine, with a lot of back and forth work. But couldn't reinstall them with my new 2 inch spacer on top. Used your method with the fork already installed, and worked like a charm.

    That's exactly how I just did mine today. That damn clevis bolt was seized and would not come out. I've done this before and if that bolt comes out you take the attire assembly out and swap out the clevis and put it back together. However if you are doing it the exact way I did it and it works out just fine. Takes a a little bit of finesse to get the shock to align with the clevis and that's where a second pair of hands comes into play. Anyhow good video on what to do and how to do it

      Thanks, I know, if that bolt doesn’t budge most people would be in trouble. I did 10 of these in the past year and only 2 the bolt came out.

      @@Motorcarnut agreed!! That clevis bolt is a time saver...IF it comes out. If not...your video shows the 2 option. That clevis bushing is EXPENSIVE. So like you and I said don't mess with it, go to the 2 option.

    Great video! Thanks for being so thorough and showing all the steps!
    Question: I've never done this job before, but have heard a spring compressor is needed. Is one needed?
    Thanks again!!!!

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Not if you replace the complete strut like I did in the video. It comes complete with spring already installed and I think the best way to go.

      @@Motorcarnut Ahhhh! All this time I've been holding off replacing my front struts because of the spring compression step. Thanks again for the video... I think I'll go order some today. Any brand recommendation on Commander hemi 4x4 struts? I have an 06 w/ 145k miles.
      Thanks!!

      You can try Detroit Axle, they are affordable and available on eBay or Amazon

    Good video. Looks like it raised the front end about an inch and a half. Just waiting on the new strut/spring assemblies to show up for my Commander. It's spongy as heck on the front end and sagging more than the one in the video. Did you get those struts online ?

      @@Motorcarnut thank you for the video you are the only one who talks about both sides and what to remove. I bought the complete kit front struts and rear shocks all Monroe from rock auto for like $227.00. Заржавел болт крепления амортизатора к вилке. Не смог провернуть рычагом длинной в 1 метр. Но с помощью дрели перфоратора удалось его расшевелить и выкрутить. С помощью перфоратора очень легко выбил шаровую верхнего рычага. Купил стойки амортизатора по 55$ Tokico USA 55553E, такие и стояли с завода. За оригинал просят 400$, хотя это Tokico USA 55553E за 55$.

    On some cars I've done in the past it would require a front end alignment. Can't tell if this is or not?

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it’s a good idea when you take any steering or suspension parts off to get a realignment. On this particular Jeep hardly any adjustment parts were disturbed so most people won’t go for the realignment.
