For everyone complaining about her not mentioning the temp.... you can see it on the display. It's 200º celsius..... 392º fahrenheit for us Americans.

I tried this a week ago, was a 1/2 inch chuck eye steak (like a mini-ribeye).
6 min at 200C will get it to a just before medium rare.
Add an extra 2-3 minutes for medium-rare.
Or, let the steak rest for 5 minutes and finish on a cast iron on high for a crunchy sear.

I hadn’t tried steak before but I found hamburger patties take about 9 minutes at that temperature. They are perfect with juices squirting out when I cut to test, better than frying as it seems to sear and seal both sides simultaneously. The Phillips air fryer is perfection, they’ve worked out the air flow for even cooking and instant start. I’m finding that you don’t need to coat things in oil as many do, including steak.

There are a ton of these air fryers in the market today, with all kinds of features and prices. Would that be safe to assume that the temp and time required in a recipe cooked in a certain brand would work for all or most of the other brands? Thanks.

Can you do roast beef? I assume it's possible seeing as you do a whole chicken.

Matthew Hurlbut, in the airfryer you can cook a variety of tasty foods. Chicken, beef and most other dishes that are usually fried, grilled or roasted come out well when prepared in the airfryer.

That's the exact opposite of the point of the air fryer I believe. You want a slow cooker for that.

Hi Lionel Lim. We would suggest ensuring the frying pan is clean of oils and fats from previous meals, checking there is not too much moisture on the meat from washing etc., and moving the air outlets away from any obstructions. If you continue to notice a significant amount of smoke, there may be a fault with the product, and you may want to check with the manufacturer. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to contact our Australia based call centre 24/7 on 1300 000 500...

Hi. I've already returned the product as I've made sure of all of the above and it produced way too much smoke. Thx

i have regular size phillips air fryer with electronic display. It does not let me set 200 degree, i can do 180 or 210. Is 210 would be ok, and do i need to change time for steak. Also how thick is the steak you are demonstrating.

    • @sadochrist8534
      @sadochrist8534 8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Marina Kaplan at 210 you'd have to calculate the difference in time, by a rough estimation I think you'd want to reduce it by 2 mins unfortunately I don't know exactly what size steak she is using but it looks to be about 300 grams

Creamy I have the same, Always my mom kicks my ass when that happens.
I think that is due to putting extra amount of oil, or excessive fat in the meat .

I found 2 possible solutions to this, 1) place paper towel in bottom of pan to soak up the fat/oil, I used this method when cooking beef sausages 2) i read on a forum where a lady used a thin layer of rock salt in the base pan to soak up the oil and stop and smoke. Hope this helps you out.

No you ruined the steak, this would be good for chicken fried steak but the steak you pulled out at the end looks horrible also it only takes 6 mins to cook a steak on a pan.

Heat the pan, when it's very hot you then put the oil in and cook the steak for 3 mins per side for medium rare depending on the size of the steak.

The only way to eat beef med or well done is by braising it as a roast or a stew. If u fry it to death for 20 min then what u have is a door stopper

Our Airfryer is OK for simple chips, snacks tiny bits of fish etc but come on... "perfectly cooked steaks".... that's pushing the truth a little. The cooked steak shown in the video was well over cooked for a 'medium'. It was not allowed to 'set'. I'll match my 30 odd years of cooking beautiful steaks against that machine anytime. Frankly, You don't need a machine to cook a simple steak really well. Sorry to offend but geeze, cooking a steak properly is so easy. In 12 minutes I can cook two extra thick rib-eyes on the bone. The average steak can be cooked to medium, 'perfection' in around 8 minutes, including setting time. In this case, the Airfryer is slower than doing the job properly. Apart from that it's an OK appliance for, generally, unimportant quick meals and snacks. Cheers, BH

Do you fry your steaks, Bill? That seems to work best for how I like my steaks, though I could do with a better vent fan because smoke is still a problem, even if I do them on medium-high. They turn out fantastic, but still, the smoke..
