I live in Tucson Arizona where the summer temperatures can easily reach 110 degrees F outside. Air Frying a steak in the Ninja Foodi SMART XL GRILL is the only way to go. Perfect steaks every time, beautiful grill marks cooked to your level of doneness everytime. I've been cooking them for about 3 years in this wonderful kitchen tool and never have had a bad steak.
I typically cook NY strip steaks. Seasoning? I use fresh ground pepper blend while cooking and salt after. While I like Worcestershire sauce and lumpy habanero sauce sometimes for dipping, there are times when the steak is so go it needs nothing else.
I think it would be helpful to offer a video with time/temp for different preferences of doneness. Your steak appeared medium-well to me. My preference would be closer to a medium rare. Truly enjoy your videos. I use my air fryer every day, sometimes two or three times a day. You have given me great ideas and "how-to's." Most appreciated.
I admit I was very skeptical about steak in the air fryer. But WOW! It is so flipping good! I have also converted all my steak snob friends into believers as well. I will have to try some "wooster sheer" sauce butter!
Wow, Kathy, this video blew me away! Your seven secrets for cooking steak in the air fryer are absolute game-changers! Your clear explanations and step-by-step instructions make it so easy to follow along, even for someone like me who's relatively new to air frying. I love how you emphasize the importance of starting with the right cut of steak and the tempering process to ensure maximum flavor and tenderness. And your herb butter tip? Genius! It adds such a luxurious touch to the finished steak. Thanks to your guidance, I feel confident that I can now create restaurant-quality steak right in my own kitchen. Keep up the fantastic work empowering air fryer owners like myself to explore new culinary horizons beyond just chicken nuggets and fries. Can't wait to try out more of your recipes! 🥩🔥💯
I cannot wait to try steak in my air fryer! To season my steak, I put a little EVOO on it (but I will use avocado oil, per your recommendation), garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce. Thank you for the video! ❤
I’ve done my ribeyes in my air fryer for years. Hubby is very picky about his steaks, and they are DELICIOUS! I love your videos. Got your cookbook about a month ago. I’m really enjoying it. I think I’m going to make the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins this afternoon. Yum!
Thanks for the video. Down here in Texas our grocery store HEB has the heart shaped ribeyes on sale for Valentines every year. I done them in the oven and grill and airfryer. The grill and airfryer came out best.
I followed this recipe, and my steak turned out perfectly! It was tender, nice char, and really juicy. I could even cut it with a butter knife! BEST STEAK EVER!!!!
It's great to have someone as knowledgeable as you are to share Air Fryer tips..... I'm expecting my new Air Fryer in the mail tomorrow! Just doing my research for now. Thank you!
😱I never eat steaks cooked any other way than saute with garlic rosemary and wine.. ..I must say..I made it and it was deeeelucious..Thank you for posting.👍
Cooked my first Air-Fryer steak about a year ago. Ninja Foodie. Had I not put that steak in the air fryer, cooked it and then removed. I would have NOT believed it came out of that air fryer. Honestly, I simply could not believe how tender and juicy the steak was. 12 mins for start to finish.
I always watch your other video and boom you updated it! lol I love the air fryer steak If people don’t like it; they either didn’t dry or season their steak
I personally love a good medium steak, yours looked perfect for me! My sister likes shoe leather for some reason, can't for the life of me get her to try medium! Go figure.
I have a friend who also cooks his meat to the shoe leather stage. Not an ounce of juice left in his steak or chops. His reasoning is he doesn't want to get mad cow disease. 😂 🐄
@@patpeters6331 I know. So when I cook steaks, I take mine off 5 minutes before her's. I just got my first air fryer and cooked burgers, juicy and pink in the middle, but she had to put her's back in. I used to be a medium well person until I "Undercooked" a steak and was amazed by it. Still can't do medium rare, but that's another story.👍
Big fan of Ribeye, but a good T-bone actually comes very close especially the meat near the bone! I use Redman's Hickory Smoked salt period. It's the best! I also cook mine in my Dreo air fryer. Nice video as usual.
The absolutely best way to cook steak is to sous vide it for a couple of hours - the temperature will determine the degree of pink. Then dry the steak, add salt, pepper and garlic powder, and finally dust with a little milk powder then sear it for a minute or two on each side in a smoking hot pan.
Steak in the air fryer is excellent, tastes great and nice char. I use margarine with garlic, pepper, Lea & Perrins "wister sheer", parsley, salt, vegetable oil. Fantastic.
Hi Kathy!!! I never made steak in the AF. I should give your recipe a try one day. Looks mighty delish to me...Thanks for this .YUMS!!! HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Great Video my dear friend!!!...🦋
Yup, I've used use a bunch of your tips when I visited your other videos before seeing this one. It won't replace doing it on the grill but definitely #2 way to make steak. Seasoning-I do the wing it method-usually garlic powder, Mrs. Dash and sometimes onion powder.
Best way to season a steak: Use Club House brand "La Grille" Montreal steak spice. Nothing is better. Season the steak at least half an hour before cooking. Also, it's best to pan-sear the steak before putting it in the air fryer for the "Maillard reaction" to give you a good crust. Unfortunately, the air fryer's maximum temperature is only 400 degrees. The hotter the oven, the better it cooks. Best to cook for a short time at high temperatures than the reverse.
Hi Cathy, I have a Cuisinart air fryer oven. Can I use this recipe to cook steaks in it. I really hate to look all over youtube for recipes when you gave such great ones. Thanks, Donna
Very informative video. But what about the?meater thermometer you champion several videos ago. Wouldn’t that show the internal temperature of the steak?
Love this video but how wouldI air fry just a piece of chuck steak around 3 oz ? I have cooked it in a cast iron skillet with butter but came out tough even tho I used the same therometer that you use.I want to start eating healthier .Thank you
Hmmm, a chuck steak might be too tough for air fryer. That's something you'd want to cook slow at low temp. A smoker or slow cooker might be a good option? I have never tested cooking low/slow in an air fryer. You could try it at 270˚F and see how long it takes to reach the correct internal temp?
It’s all up to the meat itself. On a frying pan sometimes it’s super good, other times it’s super bad. I do it the same way every time. After getting an air fryer it’s the same thing. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad 🤷
A steak on a charcoal (never gas) grill has no match. But if you live in an apartment with ridiculous rules that do not allow an outdoor BBQ grill, this would be a good way to go. I’ll have to try it.
For those who don't mind lying to their friends, you absolutely can convince folks that steaks cooked just like this came off the grill. If you follow this recipe and timing, you'll be a champ. And.... These steaks on day 2 sliced cold and put on a salad are ridiculously good. Don't sleep on the leftovers.
I’ve been trying to download your free tip sheet on temperatures etc but nothing happens. I’ve tried about 8 times now. Is it no longer available? Thanks
Want to put the icing on the cake when it comes to using your air fryer. Order a GrillGrate. Almost everything I cook in my air fryer is cooked on the grillgrate.
I use a Meater wireless temp probe. It transmits the my Corsori to my iphone and sets me know when to remove the steaks. I think any wireless temp probe would work, I jus happen to have a Meater probe.
Cracks me up the people who say no, the steak can’t be good unless it’s done their way. They have The Only Way. I’ve made steak in the Cosori Dual Blaze and my husband and I were shocked at how delicious and juicy it’s been. We take the steps you do, but with different spices and don’t put butter on the steak - just not to our taste.
Now I’m just an old country boy I drive truck and ride motorcycles. My twin daughters walked into my house with one of these air fryers and I said just leave it in the backyard near the burn barrel. They asked me to give it a chance and showed me your website, and I have to say… Very Very impressed. Thank you young Lady. I even got a bigger inverter for my W900 and i take it over the road with me. 🤘🤘🤘🫡
i am so disappinted. I always wanted to have nice soft meat that "melts in your mouth" like people described. with the airfryer I managed to do it 2-3 times now (not as pinkish as here, since I would more vomit from it...) but even then- the texture is just not mine. It was super juicy and the taste was amazing, but to me I am so used to really firm meat where you clearly chew on the meat structure, these softer ones I really get sick from (texture wise). So I probably would overcook a steak anyway xD
Actually, "leaving it at room temp" is a cooking myth many people cling to. They have done science on this, and Kenji Lopez-Alt has busted many of these myths with Serious eats. Do a bit of googling, and reading for yourself. Dry brining is probably a better option.
I've used this. For Really thick steaks...its absolutely made a difference. What works for some..might not work for others. Hard to have a solid rule unless EVERYONE cooks every step exactly the same.
I really don't know how we oldies ever managed not to poison ourselves without a thermometer but we never did. This weird fashion is no different to washing machine cleaners. Who ever heard you need them?
If these are the best steaks you ever had, then you haven't had many steaks 😂. An air fryer is a convection oven, and the only time i use one for steaks is to it bring up to temp. 400f is way too low for a good crust to develop.
Oil and salt steak 🥩
Pre heat 450 for 6 min
Put steak in 400 for 6 mins .
Flip and cook at 400 for 6.
Then 450 for 2 mins
Rest put butter on
Thank you.
My Air fryer is only 1 week old.
Your videos are the best.
Great taste testers to.
My perfect air fryer steak is a thick cut boneless NY Strip marinated all day in soy sauce and mustard cooked at 400 for 15 minutes. Yum!

That's what the thermometer is for. Rare is one temp and medium rare is another and so forth.
You should know the times of your air fryer. Just use a thermometer.
I don't as I like my steaks almost raw but with a crispy sear outside
I admit I was very skeptical about steak in the air fryer. But WOW! It is so flipping good! I have also converted all my steak snob friends into believers as well. I will have to try some "wooster sheer" sauce butter!

I use salt and Montreal steak seasoning on steak and i cook it in garlic butter. This is also good on roasted asparagus.
For international reasons, it may be a tip to add Celsius temps also.
😱I never eat steaks cooked any other way than saute with garlic rosemary and wine.. ..I must say..I made it and it was deeeelucious..Thank you for posting.👍
Fabulous. I just can’t decide on the ninja 15:1 or the turbo blaze. Any advice? Everyone seems to love both!!
Omg, Kathy! It is amazing in the air fryer. I followed your recipe. Best ever!
Awesome video ! Thank you for all the tips. You are really the Air Fryer Queen.

Thank you Cathy, I always love your videos.

Great video and awesome presentation.
I will try your recipe the next time I’m too lazy to BBQ. 👍
Steak in the air fryer is excellent, tastes great and nice char. I use margarine with garlic, pepper, Lea & Perrins "wister sheer", parsley, salt, vegetable oil. Fantastic.
Margarine is the most toxic thing they ever put on the supermarket shelves. They are synthetic killer. More carcinogenic than cigarettes
New air fryer? I just got my recalled one replaced last year. The steaks looked great.
I think I'll always prefer charcoal for steaks but this looks good for a rainy day
Just got your cookbook and I did pizza bagels and he turned out amazing!
Hi Kathy!!! I never made steak in the AF. I should give your recipe a try one day. Looks mighty delish to me...Thanks for this .YUMS!!! HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Great Video my dear friend!!!...🦋
Tried air fryed steak yesterday becuase we just got it. It was good but I still prefer it on the barbecue
Oh yum! To cook a good STEAK is an art. Thanks for your secrets...shhh😲

Thanks so much for putting Celsius in your videos! The rest of the world don't understand Fahrenheit, and the Americans don't understand that! 😂
Americans don't understand there is a rest of the world lol

Thanks for sharing. I do my hamburgers in the air fryer too..
I was gonna buy your air fryer cheat sheet but then I saw it was all listed in fahrenheit. Bummer :(
Divide through 2, then you have "abouts" the degrees
Merci beaucoup pour cette délicieuse recette !❤
Hi Cathy, I have a Cuisinart air fryer oven. Can I use this recipe to cook steaks in it. I really hate to look all over youtube for recipes when you gave such great ones. Thanks, Donna
How do you like your cuisinart air fryer? Does it smoke up the kitchen?
Very informative video. But what about the?meater thermometer you champion several videos ago. Wouldn’t that show the internal temperature of the steak?

Very helpful, thank you! Your son is so cute. 😊👍
You're such a great cook! Thank you for sharing your tips!
smiled at this, calling someone a cook that throws stuff in an air fryer is quite the stretch
Oooh now I really want some steak!!!
Hi Cathy , another great video❤ thanks so much you’re longtime fan.
A steak on a charcoal (never gas) grill has no match. But if you live in an apartment with ridiculous rules that do not allow an outdoor BBQ grill, this would be a good way to go. I’ll have to try it.
I like basting my steaks whole they are cooking.i prefer pan frying
Nice video
Hi new subbie here! Can you tell me where you get the induction stove that's bedside your air fryer? And what's the name please.

Yes! It is sooooo good!
I just use salt and pepper on my steaks. Herb butter also later.
That's a little over cooked for me but looks great .
Have that same spray bottle? And when I put oil on it, it clogged and would not spray anymore very disappointed.
I use a Meater wireless temp probe. It transmits the my Corsori to my iphone and sets me know when to remove the steaks. I think any wireless temp probe would work, I jus happen to have a Meater probe.

Take mine out at 120F and rest for 5 minutes. Perfect medium/rare.
What is the best instant read meat thermometer? Looked on Amazon and there are so many..🤷♀️
Thanks
Best steak ever and aur fryer don't belong in the same sentence IMO
I always season my steaks after cooking.
WOOSTER is the correct way to pronounce Worcestershire ...Finally.
Show me your ways master
Thank you

A lot depends on the quality of the meat. We tried steaks from a local organic butcher and it was amazing.
I tried twice to get the link for the Download - 18 tips .
It never gets to my email - it just tries to sell me your books !!!
😡
Worcester sauce is Fish sauce a recipe from India
I love that you use an Android phone ❤️.... And watch 😊
why is it important what phone she has lol
@@rail7646 because it shows independence. Individuality. And I respect that.
Hi Cathy , another great video❤ thanx
Looks yummy
Air fryers are amazing dont get me wrong but for a steak doesn't take long to cook. Best way to cook a steak is in a cast iron pan
This video gets its title, description and everything else automaticly translated :D it reads like a 2 year old has written it.
Garlic salt and pepper
You want a wireless ThermoPro TempSpike thermometer.
You forgot the last tip, drink red wine while cooking....
Merci.
What’s an erb look like herbs to me?🇬🇧
"Wooster sauce" lol. Wuss-ter-sheer.
Love your channel and Guy Fietti the chef calls worchestershire sauce wash your sister sauce. Lol
You ask the question.
I answer, without having to watch the video: No.
I admit it is a workable method, I’ve done it, but it is not the best.
Actually, "leaving it at room temp" is a cooking myth many people cling to. They have done science on this, and Kenji Lopez-Alt has busted many of these myths with Serious eats. Do a bit of googling, and reading for yourself. Dry brining is probably a better option.

Chicago Steak Seasoning
Pronounce it “wooster” sauce….it’s simple.
what gloves do you use?
I really love your videos and I love you too
Rather smoke my 🥩 steaks on my grill. Nothing beats the taste or the aroma.
My Airfryer does not have a pre heat section ?
You can just turn it on for about 5 minutes at 400F/200C
I really don't know how we oldies ever managed not to poison ourselves without a thermometer but we never did. This weird fashion is no different to washing machine cleaners. Who ever heard you need them?

An air fryer is a convection oven, and the only time i use one for steaks is to it bring up to temp. 400f is way too low for a good crust to develop.
Thats bad salt ! Use celtic salt it's delicious and the healthiest on earth.
Yada yada yada
I think the brits are messing with you. Worst-eh-shire sauce.
No it really is pronounced Wooster sauce. The county is pronounced the full Worcestershire. No idea why. Every country has these weird pronunciations.
Regarding Worcestershire sauce, a friend of mine came over one day and renamed it “watch your sister, shower sauce” and so it has been since then.
😂
