    Brilliant! I want one of these NOW! It is available in Saudi Arabia where I live, and a lot of fried foods are part of the cultural tradition. There are many really delicious foods I have had to avoid because they are fried, but now I can enjoy all of them.

    When I can afford to buy one later this year, then I definitely wnat to buy one because I have a deep fryer and it gets messy due tot he grease. Plus, cleanup isn't exactly entertaining either. I think the Air Fryer is a great idea & looks like easy cleanup too and NOT too expensive! :) Thanks, for sharing this video.

    Hi +Izzat Sam. For most packaged food such as chips or spring rolls, you do not have to add additional oil, as the AirFryer uses the oil content in the product. You can use oil in the machine though, but you only need to add a small quantity. For freshly cut potato chips for example, you only need to use up to a tablespoon...

    • @appliancesonlineAU
      @appliancesonlineAU  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zainab Mohammed. If you wash your chicken, just leave it to drain slightly before putting it in the AirFryer to avoid too much liquid dripping through. Some moisture will help keep the meat juicy, and any that does get through can be easily wiped clean. For more recipe ideas, visit the Philips site on: www.philips.com.au/c-m-ho/airfryer/recipes

    Why is the Philips so expensive over other brands? I got another name brand for 79.99 and the only difference I can see is the one I got is bigger, half the price but doesn't have a starfish bottom. It works perfectly fine though. I'm sure they are all made in China. So why is philips double to triple the price? The starfish?

    • @appliancesonlineAU
      @appliancesonlineAU  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi desidol22. It is possible to cook fresh tempura if you drain the prawns well after dipping in batter. Frozen or chilled shop brought tempura will be fine in the airfryer, as it has been precooked. Philips also recommend if you batter the fish/vegetables and then put them in the fridge to chill for an hour, the batter will slightly set and be firm enough to put in the basket without the batter falling through the mesh. Let us know the results if you give it a go :)

    I just bought the new Airfyer and I'm happy with it but it does have its limitations: a) Low capacity, it's not the best option if you have to cook for an entire family; b) French fries were tasty and crispy but not quite the same as traditional fries. If you cook for 2 people max. and really want to cook healthy or lose weight, the Airfryer is perfect; if not, go for something else.

      Frozen chips will take around 14 minutes in the AirFryer Heri Lim. If you make fresh chips, then you will need to add a tablespoon of oil and cook them for a little longer, maybe 16 minutes. There is a handy quick guide on the outside of the machine to help you. Enjoy :)

    • @appliancesonlineAU
      @appliancesonlineAU  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      *****, some fish will have enough natural oil to crisp after being placed in the machine. You can find the best cooking techniques for all sorts of foods here: www.philips.com.au/c-m-ho/airfryer/recipes

    • @siulinghui6214

      Appliances Online Australia I have looked through their recipes. There are no instructions as to how to achieve crisp skin and overall golden brown with fried fish if the fish is NOT crumbed. I tried it 2 nights ago - very disappointing. I am going to try it again but this time, I will toss the fish in flour, dust off excess, and then spray with oil and see what happens. That always works very well with pan fried white fish. Let's hope it works with the Airfryer or I am going to be seriously regretting this purchase.

    • @siulinghui6214
      @siulinghui6214 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appliances Online Australia I tried tossing the fish in flour, sprayed with oil and fried at 200C in the air fryer. I can get the flesh browned but the skin is NOT crispy (pan frying gives me a crispy skin). I even tried putting it on the rack in the air fryer to see if getting the skin closer to the heating element would help. The skin still will not crisp as it does with pan frying. How can I get the skin of the fish to crisp in the air fryer without over cooking the fish?

    There is nothing revolutionary or unique about this. If they have patents, I am sure they are design patents (i.e. curved sides), not utility patents. There are plenty of companies that make these.

    Not a good idea to add any oil, there’s lots of more informed videos showing how to use this air fryer, without oil and achieve great results, crispy and crunchy fries for example. Suggest you do more homework before presenting this product. Also adding oil makes this machine a buggar to clean.

    Please, please don't make videos with people talking in the background - and crying children! This looks like a great appliance, but it was so hard to concentrate on the person in the video.

    The unseen child crying in the background was making me kinda distracted. Not ideal. Stopped watching.
