- 2017 Challenger Hellcat with Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers and resonator delete. After purchasing the car and six months later I've decided to change the exhaust system. I didn't go the route of the majority with Borla or Corsa complete exhaust system, although I had them in my mind to use, I chose to just have the mufflers changed and resonators cut out in the end. I wanted something that would give me the low bass tone in idle (Flowmaster) and the race car sound at the same time. (resonators deleted) I didn't want to just cut off the mufflers and straight pipe it. In my opinion it was too raspy from other videos I've watched and discussions I was involved in with forums. Hope you enjoy and found this video helpful with your decision in modifying your Hellcat's exhaust. Dude for sure.... no point in paying like 2-3000 for a corsa system when flowmaster has been doing it longer and it’s cheaper . Sounds badass . Same exact setup I had on my 09 RT .

Stacey Roberson hope you enjoy it, it's now October and I don't experience any drone while driving. Just the initial start. But than again I only put 2,000 miles on it since the install. I get compliments from the shows I go to and the people on the street saying it sounds awesome and better than their stock hellcat.

Thanks man, the low rumble in idle and the nascar race sound with wide open throttle is what I was going for. The active exhaust from the factory helps with that as well.

Hey I just installed 2 super 10s in my 94 9c1 caprice and removed the cats but still have the reasonators but it sounds like if I did nothing at all.smh.can you please let me know what I'm doing wrong? (Plus car has short headers)
With that free-flowing of an exhaust system it's very odd that the tone or aggressiveness of your vehicle has not changed. The Super 10 is our most aggressive street muffler that we recommend and with the exhaust modifications that you've done your Caprice should sound mean. Have you approached the installer with this issue? Our mufflers are directional and must be mounted with the inlets and outlets in the correct locations. Super 10's free flowing? BAHAHAHA lmao . Flowmaster super 10's are a lot of things but free flowing isn't one of them. 😂 . I love it when the competition comes up and says they stepped up to flowmaster exhaust. I'm like sweet...I'll see ya when you catch up.

Just did the same thing to my 300, sounds amazing. Those Flowmaster Super 10's really bring out that V8 rumble.
This is absolutely what I would have done! My last truck I had was a 1997 Chevy Z71 no catalytic converters, true duals back to 20 inch long 5 inch diameter tips. Wow it was nice!!!

Not sure why there's so much hate for the Flowmasters. I absolutely love the sound of Super 10's with a reso delete on my R/T. Get compliments on it constantly. Sounds amazing man!
Tynarus I think its cause the audio isn't doing it justice. I get compliments on the exhaust as well whenever I take it out. I am however changing it out soon. So, stay tuned.
Walkin Mad definitely will! The wife and I are considering trading our R/T and Scat for a Hellcat, so trying to get some exhaust ideas haha.
Biggest problem with flowmaster chambered mufflers is they don’t flow well at all and on a hellcat probably give up 50 hp.

After one month back in 2016 when I bought my ram brand new, I put the flowmaster 50 HD on that is specifically for the rams. Then a year after I did the resonator delete.

Super 10’s are an excellent sounding single chamber muffler I ran them on my SS and miss them a lot honestly! Nice burbble at idle deep tone nice growl but a very wicked snarl on decel in gear after a red line! Great performance but only if they made them in stainless! Now running 3” x pipe sounds deep but miss the snarl of a flow master!!!!!! Cool car

Been going back and forth about doing this mod since i got my hellcat 2 months ago. I love the flowmaster sound. My only questions would be do you get any "drone" or "resonance" in the cabin at certain RPM's with the resonators removed? Also is your setup much louder at idle then stock?
Initial cold start has drone, after that I can hold a conversation with ease inside. The Active Exhaust System is still in place. So it sounds more open at full throttle like it always has been. It's a much deeper growl at idle and a whole lot more pops and crackles when driving. I hope I answered your question. Everytime I'm around other Hellcat owners they tell me "damn that sounds good, different than mine. What did you do different?"

Alex Marino I put the Flowmaster 40's on my old 2012 R/T... It sounded too loud. Too much drone. Super 10's are not droney.

Smoky Mcpot not sure how it sounds like that. Maybe the sound quality isn't all good but, on my speakers they have a low rumble. Either way glad to help with your decision.
I go this way with all exhausts whether trucks or cars. Throw a muffler on and/or delete some stuff. Way easier and less expensive for the same results as a $1500 cat back minus custom exhaust tips lol

I think i found my sound...GOing to get the Flowmasters and swap them first...then will see about resonators, but this, sounds good. I can't stand 90% of "custom" exhaust sounds...i remember the 80's ...and today's sounds, are blahhh and boat-motor-y. This sounds clean.

On another note I read what you wrote and I agree 100% cannot stand the corsa extremes my neighbor has them on his 2019 GT mustang and it sounds like shit way to raspy no bassy hollow sound like my 98 cobra had when I had two chamber flos nice low rumble. Beautiful car hopefully in a year I can get one when the world is back to normal.

Or is it a slick set of don't valves to run straight exhaust set for example the track or playing around on the street. Awesome sound in car man really really pretty sounds just as pretty!!!!
They're not blow off valves. Those are baffles that come wide open at full throttle for that nasty nascar sound. LOL
I honestly hate the 2017 updated wheels. They don't even offer the old ones in black for the hellcats anymore. Only the BrassMonkey ones :/

Gotta say... it doesn't sound that different in the post. In person it's probably got that nice, deeper rumble. Either way, if you like it then it's awesome. I went long-tube headers, cat-delete (ahem), and custom x-pipe to Borla ATAK on my "slightly"-modified Corvette. After all that (and a tune) I had spent over $3,000. Absolutely a ridiculous amount of money but, at nearly 800whp, my car finally sounds like it should so I get you completely. Cheers.

Sounds good man, but if you wanted it louder from the get go you could have saved yourself money by just doing the mid muffler delete. This is what most people do to get more sound from the stock exhaust.
markurbancowboy I've thought about it, but I just wanted the low rumble at idel and none of the raspy can sound. It came out to what I wanted for the time being.

@Walkin Mad since the inlet/outlet on the Super10s are slightly offset, did the guys at the shop have to do any adjustments or any work to get everything to fit?
I wish I could remember to tell you. Sorry man, I am however looking into upgrading to the black widow race venom or pro venom. Check back soon for an update.

@@mikereeves282 3 inch, the hellcat piping is 2.75 so the mufflers can fit over the pipe.
Sounds good, but not that much different from stock.. I put SLP LM1s on my scat pack and WOW did it make a difference
You did it right I have a SRT Chrysler 2008 I cut everything off after the catalytic converters and put the super tens, it sounds wonderful I'm in Cali the cops never f*** with me, I also have a 2008 Nissan Armada I put the super tens on the same way,, sounds like a beast!! people swear I have a street legal cam(or something) when they ask me I just play it off with uh slight grunt and change the subject😉,,👍👍👍 your car sounds great....

Larry Hernandez the engine is still stock. The exhaust is stock manifolds, stock catalytic converters, Flowmaster Super 10's, and stock resonators removed. Therefore it's straight piped after the mufflers.

Sounds awesome man. What size Super 10’s are the inlet and outlets? I need 3 inch but looks like the offset ones are only 2.5 inch. Did they spread the ends wider. ? I don’t want my 2.75 inch exhaust down to 2.5 and then back to 2.75. What Flowmaster part number if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks
It is a 3 inch pipe, the offset are only 2.5 and they stretched it at the shop.

Mid mufflers are the resonators. End mufflers are just called mufflers. You flip the super 10/pipe setup then you you’ll get a better result.
I figured it's the same, it's just pipe to mufflers to pipe no matter what end it's at.
Walkin Mad well your posted setup is good for keeping boost and no loss of HP but each one makes a difference. When it comes to sound. Nice sounds all round👍🏽
