It's nice to see you make the Hunting Horn look so appealing. I used it a lot in 3U, and I loved it. HH is one of the most imaginative, and useful weapons in Monster Hunter. There's so much depth, so much variety not just in the arsenal of horns at your disposal, but also in every single hunt you bring it along on. It's an incredibly good weapon, and it's a shame it's so underused. They even got Conga Bongos!
DrShoe Canpyrotoo I actually disagree with this. The weapon is fabulous solo, it's just that much more fabulous online. I do not find it to be on the lower side at all when soloing. :)
I got me a few horns and yeah I really dig them. There MUCH more easy to use then the ones in Freedom Unite. I do want that heavy metal horn really bad though. XD
I'm so glad you threw in that part about not all Hunting Horns sounding like bagpipes. I immediately pictured a scenario where my weapon made a shrieking noise every time I hit something, and I probably wouldn't play for long. D: Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos, man. I immediately reference your stuff whenever my friends ask about how to use the Insect Glaive or other weapons, and I hope to see more stuff from you in the future! Maybe breakdowns for the more difficult monsters so newcomers can improve their approach?
Gaijin hunter, I wanted to thank you for your videos. It may seem strange, given that it is not the point, but I actually am having a very good time watching your videos. They feel at home, for me : the presentation is so clean, your comments are so sympathic, you actually make me love this game and those weapons even more. The work those videos require is not a waste in my opinion : not only are you helping those who may begin in this game or are just in need of advices, but you are also sharing with us your competences and patronizing us ! Keep going with your videos, even though there aren't many other topics for you to focus on. Whyever you make videos, there will always be people happy to watch them.
Thank you very much for this guide. I'm barely a MH novice with my experience being solely from the demo for MH4U and I love having a guide to help me learn how to use these weapons! At first I thought I'd dislike the Hunting Horn but after using it a bit online I'm absolutely loving it!
gaijin hunter The two new weapons are just stealing all the spot-light; I can't go a day without hearing about how cool Charge Axe or Insect Glaive are. I've been whooping up some horn for a long time, and these new changes are super neat!
I love my long sword in solo, but from now, I'll learn HH to be the support and feel the accomplishment of team work in some hard quest. Thanks for all your work, the quality of explanation (as "not to do in online" parts that are very instructive). You one of the best example to demonstrate how the MH community is a great one. Thanks!
My favorite weapon since the begining... Amazing tutorial as always and im glad your making this amazing content.. ANYONE LOOKING TO BE A HH USER: there is a common missconception u should play songs and heal on the side of the fight, please do not do this the hh crazy damage and ko ability is too valuable to straggle on the side. Buffing and fighting at the same time is far more helpful!
RealLifePokemon5 Sound of Doom is a nice one, Nice power, element, good affinity, it only lacks a little in songs. but hearing protection + wind negation on one song is super useful. also elemental attack boost. Hazard Call is also a great one, paralysis, and an amazing song list of Attack Boost (L), Heat cancel, Cold cancel, and hearing protection. Dios Bell/Demolition Chime is good for its song list at a staggering 7 songs, Dragon resist boost L, Water Resist boost L, element attack boost L, negate paralysis, tremor resistance...also sonic waves and snow/mud negation.
Wow. I don't know where I'd be without your tutorials. I went from not knowing what the heck I was doing (and thinking the game's combat was bad as a result), to slowly mastering every single weapon and loving the combat. You're a godsend, and you really show the complexity and depth that this game's combat has.
Thank you for making this video. I learned how the game works using IG, but my attention turned to HH when I saw how few people played it... I started... AND I'M IN LOVE WITH IT. I'm pretty much HH solo now...
I am not sure how more people havent found these videos but they are chalked full of great info and tips. I keep sending my friends this way to get help mastering their new weapons. Keep it up.
Hunting Horn was the weapon I gravitated towards in MH3U. I started with Hammer, but found the rhythm (no pun intended) involved with the big swings, evading and "playing" of the Hunting Horn just so satisfying to use. Though I've experimented again in MH4U, nothing beats the HH for me. Anyway, these vids are awesome. Just started watching them, this one in-particular reminded me of some of the things you could do with the HH, and tricks like getting two separate notes out of one "A" swing have really stepped up my play.
I'm a big fan of KOs in the MH series.I use hammers a lot and have great fun with them but have wanted to branch out into hunting horns also.I like the fluid attacks and playing cool music that gives you and your fellow hunters buffs is awesome.Your like a badass musician on tour.I watched this video to give me some confidence and now I feel like I can really master this weapon and be even greater at the game.Cheers lad!
I always come back to this video once a week or so since they announced MH4U! I played HH in the Demo a couple times and everytime I watcht this video, it seems that I get better with using the Horn, I really, really appreciate that you are helping people like me learning the weapons of Monster Hunter!
HH is amazing and I hope your video gets a few others to pick it up. A lot of people don't understand that playing Attack Up L is like adding another hunter to the group. 80% more damage over 4 people is insane, not to mention all the other benefits and its a strong weapon itself. Personally I'm going to start with charge blade and save money to invest in a good Insect glaive just to hop right into to the newest weapons, but once I've settled into higher rank stuff I will be making a nice Hunting horn and probably sticking to it for most fights.
..I want to main glaive, yet after watching his i'm interested in hunting horn as secondary... thought it was support without dps potential!Yet that doesn't seem to be true can't wait to try. (used db n bow before )
I mained Hunting Horn in MH3U and it is indeed a fun weapon to use and even funner when you've fully mastered the more advanced techniques. I haven't played MH3U in quite awhile due to the original Tri burning me out earlier than usual on MH3U but I am very excited to start playing MH4U for the first time as a nice, truly fresh experience. This video has revitalized my love for the Hunting Horn and I can't wait til February 13th to start playing this game on my (red) New 3DS XL :)
RealLifePokemon5 That just means you have to work on your skill with it. The monster slowly recovers that KO damage if you're not constantly striking it. If you can find more openings and keep striking it constantly you should be able to knock it out quite quickly.
Never knew I could input any note on that second swing, nice! I feel proud of myself that I figured out nearly everything else on my own though. Thanks for the tutorial sir.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I've always loved being the dedicated healer/support in multiplayer games, and the HH is the closest to that. I can't flippin' wait to buff my Dual Blade buddies with infinite stamina and bonus attack!
I never knew about the encore and the double swing trick, so this was a great help~ Back then, every time I want to do the 2nd tier of a song, I always just do the whole song all over again... So thanks a lot, Mr. Gaijin! On my first days of playing MH(3U to be precise), I remember the HH to be what I want to master because I like being the support role. But since I only had a 3DS, I was all alone hunting. So ended up with Bows being my main, but I still go HH from time to time... But since the MH4U got online capability, my interest in the HH reignited~ Still a Bow main(Power Shot is totally awesome BTW), but this time, using the HH felt a lot more useful with fellow hunters present~
Praise the Sun Gaijin Hunter, you are incredible. Also, that double-A note just made all my hopes and dreams come true- recitals are going to be so much faster to pull off now.
Those hjnting horns look amaze balls especially that dark, cage like HH. And the current guides you do are great! Pls make more guides with the same style as this one.
recently fell in love with HH, because i'm trying to master every weapon, and i must say that i totally LOVE the crap out of the Regios horn. No item usage ever and great balanced team support o/ but i noticed a small variation in the encores, that is actually a very big thing and i think every horn users or wanna-be must know. If you play a song that will affect other players (likely 3 notes and above), and that you play and encore, you will have the long animation with 2-3 hits. BUT if you do an encore with the movement up song, you'll have a much quicker and simpler animation with 1-2 hits that allows you to move out of the way rather effectively in any of the 3 directions. Though it's not worth spamming because it will only keep extending your mind's eye song, it can be used to reposition yourself while attacking. Crazy! Also for anyone who want to know (saw many ppl in the comments asking for one), i use a set for Seregios hunting horn, with -Attack up Large -Horn Maestro -Evasion +2 -Razor Sharp -HG Earplugs. And i leave up the rest to my boosts and the Honing's ability to restore life.
Leave it to MH to make the bard a badass! My girlfriend loves this weapon, and we got through a lot of MH3U with her knocking things out to the rhythm of the beat~
Thank you so much for this video. I thought the Hunting horns were stupid, but after watching this video and training with it a little i can see how amazing it is!
Oh, cool -- I always though that they were all either bagpipes, flutes, or guitars, I didn't know there were others. I'm now going to learn to main the Hunting Horn just for that awesome bell-like thing you used. That thing looks and sounds amazing.
I thought it would be cool to hunt with a HH user, but rarely saw them. So I figured, hey, I'll be that person! So I made a good HH, watched this tutorial and went to battle. The HH is now one of my favorite/main weapons. Thank you so much for this tutorial! Do you have any recommendations for good HH lines?
Thank you very much^^ I have the first in the Seregios line and it's my favorite as of right now(just got to G rank, need to upgrade) Though I'm not entirely sure how a giant claw counts as a musical instrument^^; Thank you very much for the fast reply!!!
gaijin hunter Hey Gaijin, i'm picking up HH now, and of course am trying to learn by your amazing tutorial. Could you tell me what the bell-like horn was that you showed for the jump attack and then again about at the end 11:30'ish?
gaijin hunter Ah never mind, i found out the name. Sorry for bothering. :P Clemency Pearl, it has been called below this comment thread, looked it up. It's the Gogmazios hunting horn. Thanks for taking the time to make these tutorials by the way, they've helped me on my way in MH a lot.
I saw these tutorial vids on icemannoob's channel and thought he was the creator... i should have known better. anyway, now i'm subscribed to you! great video dude! I love the hh - never used it until mh3u.
For a small while during HRank, I used HH, but dropped it because I got bored of it. And also the mentality that "my team wants buffs, never switch weapons" was tiring. The way I played it back then was play most of the songs and use all of the attacks on the head straight on while using the Qurupeco set. The results was almost never hitting the monster(doing 5 or so songs took ~2 mins and repeating it every 3 minutes), no KOs, always tumbling, and always getting damaged. So then I decided to play songs faraway, which then became boring fast. But then my interest sparked out-of-the-blue and thought about picking it up again. So I made the DLC HH, "Hunter Master." Lower-than-most-HH Raw, same notes as Gogma's HH, but 3 slots and no upgrade needed. Also, festive Japanese drums sounds! Then I made a mixed set that gave me Sharpness+1, HG Earplugs, Maestro, and Evasion+2. (Just finished this today before bed) So I read more of Gaijin's guides, including the ones in tumblr, then quickly got ashamed of myself for succumbing to staying away from the fight. I learned that you only need 2-3 songs and that X+A Back-swing and X left-swing are the only needed attacks. With this, I now have less things going in my mind while using the HH, which will hopefully make using HH more fun. Will get to practice on Zinogre soon... Sorry for the wall of text and thank you for all your help, Gaijin-sensei!
My HH set: 3 Slot weapon (Hunter Master or Eternal music box) Nargacuga Helm X Kaiser Mail X Grand Mizuha Sleeves Kushala Cocoon X Rhopessa Crura X Talisman: Evasion+4, Hearing+2 oo- Earplug Jewel 3 x1 Earplug Jewel 1 x1 Evasion Jewel 2 x2 Handicraft Jewel 2 x1 Sonorous Jewel 1 x5 --------------------------------------- With this charm, one can switch Narga Helm for a Selene Helm X so that you can make this set with no slotted weapon. W/ Selene, one can also switch Kaiser with Kushala Mail X for different Gems I chose the set that needs the 3 slotted weapon because I don't like how Kushala Mail and Selene Helm looks. Athena's A.S.S. says that with a charm with up to two skills and no weapon slot, there are 69960 combinations possible to achieve this skill set.
so, i did the hunting horn tutorial quest the other day, and man is it very fun to play! i love it already and ive already made a couple. its going take take a while for me to learn the necessary note patterns, lol
My brain doesn't know what the hell it just saw but Horn looks freaking awesome to learn. Putting down the Hammer for a bit and learning the ropes of Horn
HH is my fave IMHO not only it has insta speed up you it will give you buffs that you'll need in hunting. Also my friends really love my HH support during quests though not that flashy in attacking but the damage is enormous.
The most important part is: There is a hunting horn Designed after a Poogie. Spoiler for how to get the weapon: Download the quest: The Poogie King. Complete it 3 times to get the books needed for the weapon. YOu will fight a Tiny Yian Kut-ku (Capture in the arena) Recomend Capture master.
Nothing better to do than kill a monster to some nice music. That has to be the most durable instrument to be able to rock on and smash things with it.
I have a special thank you message set in game specifically for hunting horn players when I play with them. And to all hunting horn players out there; thanks for being awesome with all your cool buffs KO damage and raw damage.
I love the HH, ive not played online yet since im nervous to and none of my friends play Monster Hunter lol but if i was to/when i do play online i think id use the HH to help everyone. I like being the supporter while kicking ass lol
Following this guide i've gotten killed so many times lol. I did however, learn the importance of not preferring one move over another. I dont find the A attack to be the bread and butter. I feel the A attack to be the best on a monsters right side or if you need to hit high, the X attack to be the best on the monsters left side, X+A if you ever roll and your back ends up facing them, or if you need to hit a high spot, and the super slam whenever you get a chance
I am a hh user for several reasons. 1 I nevet see them. 2. They do insane damage (depending on what u have). 3. I love supporting. And lastly my fav. INFINITE POTIONS WOOO!
Went through all the tutorials and tried the weapons myself on the great Jaggi and finally decided i will main Hunting Horn. This is my first Monster hunter game so this will be very interesting. Cheers for all the great tutorials. Question, tough, might have missed it. But is it recommended in going for elemental damage or raw damage?
Anything that hits as hard and slowly as the hunting horn should prefer raw over elemental. You need fast hitting weapons for elemental damage to apply regularly.
Great video, do you have any recommendation for armor ? I'm stuck with this Jaggi for now and I don't have maestro decorations yet ... I was wondering what to take ... thanks :D
From humble beginnings. Just came back for a refresher course! I've noticed sometimes when I encore it's faster. Anyone have any idea why that is? I'm guessing it's a perfect timing type deal like with valor reload
I'm a relative noob to the HH, which I've recently decided to main. Your video is awesome and tells me a ton of things I didn't know. I'm wondering: I've been spamming the A button a lot because of the spammability of it and it allows me to dodge out quickly if I want to. Should I stop using the A button at all? Another question I have is how you use the special button so easily in an attack. Using either the select or the touch screen button in combat seems such a drag lol. Thanks so much for uploading this video! Next time I'll be pro. :p
Lmao I tried my new knowledge and for a sec I got scared as hell lol. Guess zerging is always easier than aiming. :p Dealing insane amounts of damage now with that backwards swing on the head. It's becoming a bit more difficult to figure out when to use songs though. It feels like they take up a lot of time, while I could be DPS-ing, not to mention you're immobile for a little while. Another question; Is there any skill that can speed up or reduce the cooldown from casting a song?
***** I've played the hunting horn for more than a month now, also on MH4U and think I have become quite profound at doing so. I think I know about 95% of what there is to know about a HH now. Still I think there's a difference between a player with skill and a player who has fought a monster over 200 times and can dream its moveset. I think I'm a skilled player, but nowhere near as good yet as some of the people I've seen on youtube that launch an attack while knowing a monster will move into position afterwards. =) HH, in my opinion, is the most interesting weapon of them all. I also love collecting hunting horns and for this weapon that really pays off. That's because pretty much every HH has a unique element+songs combination, which makes having all of them not just fun but practical. I also have to say that the multiplayer on MH4U adds a whole new dimension to playing a HH. I notice that people in my party really appreciate the fact that they get buffed. It's a lot of fun. Thanks yet again for this video! It's really paid off for me!
Hey GaijinHunter, you got any tips on Hunting Horn online etiquette? I was doing a G-Rank Gravios quest(Some guy disconnected after the second cart, way to go man) and halftime I felt like I wasn't contributing much and prioritizing playing songs over attacking the monster. Obviously, the time when everyone was together was when we're all in the same area attacking monsters and people would just chase it into another area before I got to buffing them, and I tried integrating song playing and attacking but it was like every time I got interrupted mid song. Should I go in, get a few hits in, back out and play the song I loaded? Or is it cool to be backed away and playing every song I should play then jump into the fray? Just wondering since I was still new to using the HH(the M.Tigrex one is sick paired with an armor that was Awakening)
I recently picked up a relic HH with some pretty good stats: ~1250 ATK, 630 Ice (needs Awaken) and a nice song line-up (Health Boost L, Attack Up L, Defense Up L, Wind Pressure Negated), so I decided to watch this. Who would have thought bards would have it so good?
Hey gh(aka Gaijin Hunter) you earnnn....A HH PLAYER.!!! I find hh fun, i don't know why people call it a ''hard'' weapon to play. Once you got the songs down(which takes 7 hunts at most) you're good. As for the ''weird'' attacks, their awesome! What's better then smacking a monster with akantors head? It takes some time getting use to this weapon but soon enough u can go crazy and trip apex seregios 9093209302 times. sry for my bad english(was it bad?) Anyways, thank to you I learned how to use this awesome weapon!:D This comment is a comment I will regret typing later on(also, people say I rock with this weapon-bonus points!!)
Can I just say that I'm happy that I just started getting interested in this weapon? I usually took the Hammer over it but I like how it just feels more fluid while still being decently powerful. The buffs are also quite fun to use. I thought it'd be tedious. But is it just me using low rank weapons or does Hunting Horn sharpness go down quickly?
Hey, Gaijin, do you have a source for the motion values for the HH? I'm learning this weapon and very keen to understand it fully, so I'd like to have an idea of how much relative damage I'm dealing with each strike.
Only real drawback is lack of cutting tails(just as for hammers). I wish they would just add a hammer / HH that have slashing damage, but lacks impact and / or majority of songs. Or something. Just to let Hammer and HH users have a weapon to cut tails in solo. Might just be me wanting this tho. Edit: Yes, the HH poke does slashing damage but is way too fiddly to use, its like trying to use a boomerang.
i started as a gunlance main and ended up favoring switchaxe and horn with all these combo weapos i wiuld realli like a greatsword-horn or a dual blades-bow a la kid icarus to make upporting more fun and viable...
I tried going to that site you mentioned at the end of the video but there's nothing there, Thank you for the video though I've never been so excited to play the hunting horn ^^
I'm ashamed to say i've been one of the many to disregard the horn, especially categorising it as a mainly support-only kind of deal... Seeing as i'm not too fond of the regular hammer, i may try a big more of the horn in the future... But who am i kidding, it's almost impossible to not want to play at least a LITTLE bit of every weapon.
what is the Combo to do for max DPS? i like to do A A A A A because you dont move that way and hit precisely, but the video says the (forward + A) double attack is for status. Is it good for raw too? I Dont understand the Motion Values listed at Kiranico bacause names are all mixed up.
What's the name of the HH shown in the picture of the video? The red one with the chords. I'd like to make that one but not too sure which previous HH it stems from
What's your opinion on the Lightbreak Timbre? I've not used Hunting Horn yet, but I have a full collection of Brachydios weapons that I'm upgrading to their Raging Brachydios versions (which I've already done so far with SnS, CB, HBG, and SA), and I was wondering if you think the Lightbreak Timbre is actually viable to use. P.S. In case you're wondering, yes, I'm a Brachydios nutcase, and will probably end up using the Timbre anyway at some point. Sue me. lol
It's probably one of the worst horns. Not because of stats, but because of songs. It's only use is basically Deviljho killing. And other horns do that pretty well too.
i think i will start using this till i master it i´ve been playing online a lot recently and in the ca 60 gathering halls i went to only 4 had horn users in them does the party also get the encore effect if its a different horn user playing the same song?
It's nice to see you make the Hunting Horn look so appealing. I used it a lot in 3U, and I loved it. HH is one of the most imaginative, and useful weapons in Monster Hunter. They even got Conga Bongos!
Criminally underplayed and very strong both solo and online. I'll make sure to show it some love once 4U is released :)
it's use offline is a bit on the lower side considering the buff doesn't have a huge impact on the battle like it does in multiplayer
DrShoe Canpyrotoo I actually disagree with this. The weapon is fabulous solo, it's just that much more fabulous online. I do not find it to be on the lower side at all when soloing. :)
gaijin hunter can you plz tell me how you got that Black terupushikora Horn ?
I'd use it more often if Great Sword wasn't so fun and satisfying to use.
I got me a few horns and yeah I really dig them. There MUCH more easy to use then the ones in Freedom Unite. I do want that heavy metal horn really bad though. XD

Gigginox HH from 3U sounds much worse.
Worse than what?
The starting horn
Much worse than the bagpipes.
I quite like the bagpipes, they just don't lend themselves to sound clips like that
All praise the mighty metal tones of the Stygian Tristitia and revel in its blessing of Attack up L
Gaijin hunter, I wanted to thank you for your videos.

Not even once bruh. Not even once.

that double twirling smack looks crazy! HHs sure have become hot.
Btw thanks for this guide, GH-san, i'll give it a try once 4U reaches the west.
I never knew about the encore and the double swing trick, so this was a great help~
Back then, every time I want to do the 2nd tier of a song, I always just do the whole song all over again...
These videos are super amazing! i've been playing MH since the psp release and am still finding out new stuff all the time. Thank you! :D
No item usage ever and great balanced team support o/
but i noticed a small variation in the encores, that is actually a very big thing and i think every horn users or wanna-be must know. Crazy!
Also for anyone who want to know (saw many ppl in the comments asking for one), i use a set for Seregios hunting horn, with
-Attack up Large
-Horn Maestro
-Evasion +2
-Razor Sharp
-HG Earplugs.
And i leave up the rest to my boosts and the Honing's ability to restore life.
I love your tutorials and i hope you are going to do every weapons of the game ! Keep going man ;)
Such an awesome, in-depth video, thanks.
Yep, this confirms it, this is the weapon type that calls to me. Awesome vid. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a fan of HHs and now they're better than ever! :D
What tutorials are you planning next?
I would love to see a gunlance one.
Thanks a bunch for this video. I main horn and I learned a lot from this video. The points about fatigue and KO damage were especially useful.
Leave it to MH to make the bard a badass!
My girlfriend loves this weapon, and we got through a lot of MH3U with her knocking things out to the rhythm of the beat~
Thanks for the help, Im pracicing to use this when MH4U releases with the new demo. Tips were greatly appreciated.
End game the molten Tigrex (use awaken), Seregios, and Gogma horns are the best to aim for.
Thank you very much^^
I have the first in the Seregios line and it's my favorite as of right now(just got to G rank, need to upgrade) Though I'm not entirely sure how a giant claw counts as a musical instrument^^;
Thank you very much for the fast reply!!!
gaijin hunter what's the armor set you used with gogma?
ATM I'm using seregios x but its kinda underwhelming.
gaijin hunter
Hey Gaijin, i'm picking up HH now, and of course am trying to learn by your amazing tutorial. Could you tell me what the bell-like horn was that you showed for the jump attack and then again about at the end 11:30'ish?
gaijin hunter
Ah never mind, i found out the name. Sorry for bothering. :P Clemency Pearl, it has been called below this comment thread, looked it up. It's the Gogmazios hunting horn. Thanks for taking the time to make these tutorials by the way, they've helped me on my way in MH a lot.
Watching this to prepare after I’ve Hunted my first Fatalis, I NEED that guitar and I’m glad to know I Can do BEATdown while buffing
Red = attack.
Blue = def.
Green = health.
Yellow = ele stats.
Cyan = status effects.
Purple = High/G Rank songs.
I saw these tutorial vids on icemannoob's channel and thought he was the creator... i should have known better. anyway, now i'm subscribed to you! great video dude! I love the hh - never used it until mh3u.
Nice tutorial! I tried picking it up in this game, though couldn't keep up with this. This video will help a lot more.
(Just finished this today before bed)
So I read more of Gaijin's guides, including the ones in tumblr, then quickly got ashamed of myself for succumbing to staying away from the fight.
You must share this godly set with me
My HH set:
3 Slot weapon (Hunter Master or Eternal music box)
Nargacuga Helm X
Kaiser Mail X
Grand Mizuha Sleeves
Kushala Cocoon X
Rhopessa Crura X
Talisman: Evasion+4, Hearing+2 oo-
Earplug Jewel 3 x1
Earplug Jewel 1 x1
Evasion Jewel 2 x2
Handicraft Jewel 2 x1
Sonorous Jewel 1 x5
---------------------------------------
With this charm, one can switch Narga Helm for a Selene Helm X so that you can make this set with no slotted weapon.
W/ Selene, one can also switch Kaiser with Kushala Mail X for different Gems
I chose the set that needs the 3 slotted weapon because I don't like how Kushala Mail and Selene Helm looks.
Athena's A.S.S. says that with a charm with up to two skills and no weapon slot, there are 69960 combinations possible to achieve this skill set.
DokiDoki EienNi Thanks for sharing! also... there's lots of combinations.
Khezus hunting horn has such a beautiful melody now!
so, i did the hunting horn tutorial quest the other day, and man is it very fun to play! i love it already and ive already made a couple. its going take take a while for me to learn the necessary note patterns, lol
My brain doesn't know what the hell it just saw but Horn looks freaking awesome to learn. Putting down the Hammer for a bit and learning the ropes of Horn
Was not expecting that sound out of the Khezu horn o_o
HH is my fave IMHO not only it has insta speed up you it will give you buffs that you'll need in hunting. Also my friends really love my HH support during quests though not that flashy in attacking but the damage is enormous.
The most important part is:
There is a hunting horn Designed after a Poogie.
Spoiler for how to get the weapon:
Download the quest: The Poogie King.
Complete it 3 times to get the books needed for the weapon.
YOu will fight a Tiny Yian Kut-ku (Capture in the arena)
Recomend Capture master.
The notes system kind of reminds me of FFXIV's NIN mudra combo system, i'll definitely give this a shot in 4U.
I love Zinogre's hunting horn. It's an electric guitar! and it sounds like one!
Awesome video! I'm looking forward to using the hunting horn
Nice tutorial. But dinnae be insulting bagpipes!
Most underrated weapon hands down.
Don't let the awful bagpipe sounds deter you!
Mute the video and put on some nice chillstep and enjoy the tutorial :)
Nothing better to do than kill a monster to some nice music. That has to be the most durable instrument to be able to rock on and smash things with it.
''that annoying bagpipe'' noo i fucking love that bagpipe sound its iconinc of the hunting horn
To be honest, I never expected that sound to come out of the khezu HH XD
I have a special thank you message set in game specifically for hunting horn players when I play with them.
And to all hunting horn players out there; thanks for being awesome with all your cool buffs KO damage and raw damage.
I love the HH, ive not played online yet since im nervous to and none of my friends play Monster Hunter lol but if i was to/when i do play online i think id use the HH to help everyone. I like being the supporter while kicking ass lol
Great video as always. What Hunting Horn are you using at the 11min mark?
haha!
i´ve finnaly found it ingame. Its a rare 10 horn named clemency pearl
you can get it after the very last urgend at g-rank 3 :3
Wespa64 it's not the last urgent it's the urgent to unlock g-rank crown system
*****
welp its the last urgent to progress in ranks
the ones after brown crows are optional :)
edit: i meant ranks
Its from gogmazios
That horn is probably the Black Terupushikora.
I liked it back in MHFU, where the staples were war congo and sakura recorder, cant believe they got rid of the pink bell :(
great educational video, gonna carry my newbie friends with some beefy tunes. thanks a lot!
thanks 4 the tutorial now the hh is my favorite weapon :D
That horn at the very end of the video sounds beautifull ;---;7
This Weapon is extremely underrated
The one hunting horn I loved in 3U was the one from Dire Miralis. Call me weird, but I liked the screaming. XD
Both are good just as long as it has atk or elemental atk up
Anything that hits as hard and slowly as the hunting horn should prefer raw over elemental. You need fast hitting weapons for elemental damage to apply regularly.
Great video, do you have any recommendation for armor ? I'm stuck with this Jaggi for now and I don't have maestro decorations yet ... I was wondering what to take ... thanks :D
I still have a lot to learn but so far I enjoy the hunting horn.
Dealing insane amounts of damage now with that backwards swing on the head.
HH, in my opinion, is the most interesting weapon of them all.
Just wondering since I was still new to using the HH(the M.Tigrex one is sick paired with an armor that was Awakening)
thank you very much! love this weapon!
+JanusHoW wow...just wow.. and those songs look like the gogmazios one.... oh my....
It takes some time getting use to this weapon but soon enough u can go crazy and trip apex seregios 9093209302 times. sry for my bad english(was it bad?)
Anyways, thank to you I learned how to use this awesome weapon!:D
This comment is a comment I will regret typing later on(also, people say I rock with this weapon-bonus points!!)
+matthew vang this comment might confuse you readers(the comment above-or below, depending on the time u read this)
12:16 Lol wtf!? Ok, so Khezu Horn has screeching noises from hell, while Red Khezu Horn makes angelical voices. HOW!?
I KNEW these where the underdog
HH is an AMAZING weapon.. Infact, I think its the best Weapon in all the games! Only problem is, I'm TERRIBLE with it... ;(
Thank you, so much. This helps an unbelievable amount. o___o
What armor is this please? And again, thanks for another amazing vid!
at 9:45: "Looks cool, though! You will never use this."
lololol
Nice series! I need one of these videos for Gunlance because i have no idea how to use that goddamn thing lol
Wow. This weapon changed so much since last time I used it o.o
It's even harder, I don't think I will do anything else than just smashing xD
Would you please tell me Hunting Horn end game set are you using? I believe it's close to Miku Miku Mi set but you have maestro skill as well.
What's the name of the HH shown in the picture of the video? The red one with the chords. I'd like to make that one but not too sure which previous HH it stems from
Small note: the fencing skill (not bouncing off monsters) is only for yourself or did that change?
What's your opinion on the Lightbreak Timbre?
I've not used Hunting Horn yet, but I have a full collection of Brachydios weapons that I'm upgrading to their Raging Brachydios versions (which I've already done so far with SnS, CB, HBG, and SA), and I was wondering if you think the Lightbreak Timbre is actually viable to use.
P.S. In case you're wondering, yes, I'm a Brachydios nutcase, and will probably end up using the Timbre anyway at some point. Sue me. lol
Turnabout Akamia But we can't you're an attorney.
It's probably one of the worst horns. Not because of stats, but because of songs.
It's only use is basically Deviljho killing. And other horns do that pretty well too.
Basarios rock... DUNDUNDUNDUNDUDUNDUNDU YAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
What armor and skills are you using for the Gogmazios HH by the way?
i think i will start using this till i master it i´ve been playing online a lot recently and in the ca 60 gathering halls i went to only 4 had horn users in them
does the party also get the encore effect if its a different horn user playing the same song?
Hey Ganjin, what is the set you're using with the seregios horn?
Question: Does Wide Range matter for Hunting Horns? I thought the song applied to everyone in the area.
