Honestly all I want for my PSP-3000 is the expanded grips from the MHP3rd shell, I kinda don't want to spend $35-40 just to use 2 parts out of the entire kit. Like I don't even care that much about the extra battery space I just my console to feel better in my fairly big hands 😔

I bought an MH 3000 replica shell and going to attempt milling out the required cutout to fit the "old version" antenna with a Dremel tool. Used transparent adhesive tape to take the shape of the involved area from the battery compartment side, marked the edge of the battery compartment to have a good future orientation line, then carefully removed it from the old shell and placed it to the exact same position on the MH 3000 replica shell using the orientation line on the edge of the battery compartment. As for the MH 3000 replica shell in general: -Nice quality (my battery door corner gets stuck on opening just the same) -Managed to put glass perfectly into the front cover thanks to your video (needed some fine (widening) adjustments around the frame) -Replaced all the golden elements of the frame with metallic grey, as well as the ring on the UMD door (still fighting with the adhesive on the replacement ring as it had a poor packaging and not exactly flat = loves to partially delaminate over time because of the remaining tension in the material)

also the difference between the t92 and t95 models are the MMC led indicator, in t92 the led indicator is built-in in the motherboard, while t95 models are separated and attached to directional button flex

@@TotalKommando Not surprising at all. There's a whole racket out there for fake goods. Remember being burned by SanDisk Micro SD cards back in the day. Complete with sealed boxes, as you say. So much effort just to be counterfeit. It's ridiculous how far they'd go for a buck.
Im thinking of replacing the shell on my 3000 model, but sadly the Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy 10th Anniversary shells either don't extst or aren't in stock...
Its no longer available from what I have seen You can work with it, you can just leave out the antenna if you dont use wifi ( can always reattach it later ) or Route it else where maybe under the face buttons area and trim it to fit

Do you think the OEM PSP 3000 Monster Hunter has a better build quality / feel compared to the OG PSP 1000 ? and do they both have a similar weight. I personally loved the premium / weighty feel of the original, though it is interesting many like the monster hunter one, tempted to scout one!
The only PSP that comes close to the 1000 in terms of thiccness and build quality is the E1000. OG 3000 MH is very nice and very prone to damage since its rubberized and plastic is thinner
@@stingerfist It would have to be a 3000 MH, personally I love the grip and shape on it, feels slightly thicker than the 1000 + the rubberized grip. Its lighter, takes a 2200 mAh battery. I know I may have contradicted what I said about thickness in my last comment.

Been considering getting the MHP3rd shell for my PSP3000, now I'm convinced, but i will reuse the original buttons to avoid some of the issues mentioned, also gonna upgrade that battery to a 2200mah one, currently with a 1200mah my 9g revision lasts around 4 hours and a half with Daxter or Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, if i can double that i will be very happy, i usually played PSP games on my Vita which lasts maybe a day or so without charging when playing PSP games, but 3D games like MH or Daxter scale quite poorly on the Vita screen, good for gameplay as you have the additional stick which is great for MH, but the downgrade in visual quality is quite hard...
I wish the vita was able to push 60fps on Native screen rez on all psp games. That would have been the dream. Instead scaling sucks, lack of bigger filter options, slight latency, audio accuracy : |
@@TotalKommando I ended finding a work around for latency issues and audio accuracy using Adrenaline, installed CFW, now it loads in full PSP mode allows for some different filters and disable the bilinear filtering that blurs all the PSP and PS1 games, there is a mod that allows for native res on certain games like FF3 or 4 3D remakes, but it's highly limited in compatibility and MH isn't supported among many other 3D heavy games, thanks to Adrenaline you can also setup Inferno as the main driver and tweak CPU and GPU frequencies of the PSP chip, allowing for overall better performance, basically any option you have with a CFW PSP you get it through Adrenaline.
I'll have to revisit Adrenaline, its been a while since I last touched my vita. I know there are rez patches but sadly not for the games I enjoy like outrun or motorstorm among various others. I will prob start dabbling with it again once I do my Vita eBay Japan vs AliExpress video.
I have not seen those made, the only thing I have seen is a sticker for silver models that adds the designs on the rear. And those are probably no longer in production. However I have been thinking about getting a laser engraver and try to engrave custom designs for a future video.
Mmh i habe a years old replacement shell of the mh for psp 2000. These are different. Inside is the shell White and the Facebook Buttons are same color as the shell outside. That shell is more the 4 years old. Perhaps the changed it

@@astrogarage7082 Ahh yes, I do plan to do a deep dive into the variance between original PSP displays at some point. After buying several more PSP 3000s I have found them to have similar if not same qualities as my MH 3000. So my latest suggestion at this time is to get the latest revision PSP, in this case a Radiant Red 3000 or Marine Blue, and whatever other color that came with a TA-095v2 mobo. Get one with that revision in a healthy condition that isnt super yellow, and you should have one of the best OG psp screens out there.

Some of these aftermarket batteries are thicker than normal, you can try to push the battery further in, I have the same issue with the original MH 3000 as well

@@Lumago64 I had similar issues with the OG shell with OG battery sometimes, i somehow failed to emphasis it more in the video I found the trick is to push the battery in further and close the door in a specific way. Also some of the ostent batteries get a tiny bit of puffiness as i have recently discovered, and my og 2200mAh battery was spicy at one point and deflated from all the pressure, still works lol

Is it possible to change the casing to a t92? Is it only necessary to make the hole for the antenna or are there too many physical changes that make it impossible? I only have a t92 version and I have always wanted to have that version of the PSP, and a case is the most tangible way. The T90/T92/T93 are all the same. As far as the differences go, the only one I really noticed is the cutout, and the grove that allows the antenna to sit flush under the battery. Worse case you reroute the antenna somewhere else, make it smaller, longer or what not just to make it fit. If you don't use WiFi or AdHoc, you can also just leave the antenna out. Hope this helps : )
Is it generally safe to use graffers tape like that directly on the mobo? I want to fix a mushy down and right dpad that I have to press hard to register and I want to replicate your fix but first I ordered a rubber replacement for the dpad to see if it’s that.
If you are working with an original shell, you shouldn't need to add tape, if its an original case then you might just need new rubber domes. Otherwise if its an aftermarket shell they usually don't fit perfectly, and yes its fine as long as the buttons feels right and dont feel like the buttons are giving less than a full press like its already pressed if that makes sense.

This fit of 95 momster hunter on my 93 3000 is just disapointing could you maybe do a shell swap video on 3000 as a first timer the videos om youtube was of no help i have to switch between 3 videos for different parts of the shell swap it was a mess but i think i could of done it better and quicker if there was a good guide would deffo help people in the future if you could make one 🙏

Yea it can work with either one slim or phat batteries, if you ever find it falling out because the battery or battery compartment is worn out, you can place a piece of paper under the battery
If we are talking about buying an original non modified OG psp then yes absolutely. and if its the afternarket shell its one of the best options out there

Ok Elephant in the room, the genuine monster hunter 3000 line. Does the rubberized case rots off ? I had that few times with Rubberized.

A body having an issue with the 3000 shell and fitting a 1000 battery in there. The bottom of the battery cover doesn't sit flush

Still mostly the clear shells are good, the rest I have sitting in a box waiting for me to go through and grade them
What's the difference between a psp t92 and t95 model.And which is the better model between these?

@@alkafi464 Its basically the same, if not easier since you dont have to deal with the wifi antenna, few minor differences here and there that are very easy to understand
