If someone from the soldiers died it would have been something to commend according to the lady speaker's logic, but it would have been meaning less because a soldier's death in that battle would not have saved any extra lives, in fact less gunfire may have compromised more lives against the dragon. Hope my explanation cleared up the quote a bit, but I wonder......Rory's words seemed perfectly clear to me.

I doubt the western audience caught it, but this anime has some great slaps at Japanese politicians. This one in particular makes fun of the head of the Japanese Socialist Party, whose only talent in real life seems to be to attack Japan and bow down to Korea and China.

I like how this included the perspective of how soldiers were viewed and treated in medieval times vs how they are now. Back in the medieval times soldiers were seen as strong, brave and praised for there duty. And today, with how people are less motivated about combat, soldiers are seen as killers and failures if they mess up. And it doesn't help that media prefers to spread word of bad things that happen instead of the heroic things our soldiers do.

In the manga, some of the ppl behind the cameras were like: '' Did you taped/recorded this?'' and later they showed on someone's computer screen, a thumbnail of the video clip with Rory's face and the words ''Are you baka?''. If such a thing happened in our reality, the views would pass the 6 digits easily.
I do wish they would make more. The story, the show, they both were well written, with great characters, and great dialogue between said characters. Having another few seasons come out would be amazing.
God this show needs to continue. One of the more unique anime iv seen, and really nothing quite gets up there with it. Action, fantasy, sci-fi, slight harem, politics, Isekai, mixed in with alright writing, characters you remember, and effective timeline setting progression. Oh, and we got the “Dragons” by episode 6.

This story did so much things well, in japan the elder respect shit it's so strong that people actually change their entire demeanor because of a measly 1 year difference. Look at how the woman's behaviour changed instantly the momment she found out Rory was at least 25 or 30 times her age...

I like how Rory defends the soldiers, even though they come from another world. As an apostle of a god of death and war, she knows the valor and courage of true warriors, but also that they are sentient beings who value life. Truly one of my favorite speeches, all anime combined.

I like how this included the perspective of how soldiers were viewed and treated in medieval times vs how they are now. Back in the medieval times soldiers were seen as strong, brave and praised for there duty. And today, with how people are less motivated about combat, soldiers are seen as killers and failures if they mess up. And it doesn't help that media prefers to spread word of bad things that happen instead of the heroic things our soldiers do.

I do wish they would make more. The story, the show, they both were well written, with great characters, and great dialogue between said characters. Having another few seasons come out would be amazing.
