Being a Penn State fan with James Franklin as your head coach is an abusive relationship

Just another chapter in James Franklin at Penn State.

As a PSU fan you get numb to this stuff cause it’s a weekly occurrence. You could do a spinoff series just on James Franklin.

My favorite was late in the third it was first and goal, game time 30 seconds left, play clock at 40 seconds. Any wise individual lets it roll to the 4th quarter so we can talk about plays and then move our lead up even more. Not Franklin, they snap the ball with maybe 5 seconds left in the 3rd quarter and drew threw a pick. Don’t know why they rushed the play call when they didn’t have to

Penn State was *very* fortunate to win this game because BGSU gave them a run for their money.

We were that close to having 2 MAC upsets of Top 10 teams in one day.

This would've been a much bigger upset than Northern Illinois'.

Dealing with James Franklin's yearly terrible management of games and his seemingly routine ability to get beaten down by the best teams in the 4th quarters after either leading or being within 2-3 points after 3 quarters. Even with a decent lead in 4th quarter against good teams, they blow it every time. Just look back at the Ohio State games since 2017, with 2017 being the worst of them all. He has been doing the same thing, blowing it in the 4th quarter vs good teams since the 2017 Rose Bowl vs USC. Before that his first couple years he was good and the Lions were moving toward great...they had that great win vs Ohio State in 2016 followed by a huge comeback vs. Wisconsin in Big 10 title game. But under him, the Lions have done NOTHING since. I am a PSU alum, and to see other alumni and fans being OK with 10-2 seasons where both losses are to the best teams (OSU and Michigan for the last bunch of years) and praising Franklin for getting PSU to 10 wins is a joke. Penn St fans and alumni need to have the thought process Ohio State / Michigan and others have....if you cant beat the beat teams in your conference, you are fired. Ohio State and Michigan would NOT be OK with 10-2 every year if both losses were against Penn St and each other....no way they'd be OK. Its sad cause Franklin had / has them close, but he doesnt have that special something to take them to next level. Another issue I have with fans and alumni is that, now that the playoff is 12 teams, we could get in and that is great!! is it great? Do Ohio State / Michigan and other new Big 10 teams think making the playoff great? No, they think winning the playoff is great. Just making it and being OK with that shows a team and a culture that just doesnt do whatever it takes to win it all......I love Penn State. I want to see them take things to the next level. I want to see them make it BIG and be a constant title contender. I want Franklin to get that job done...I just dont think he can do it and obviously hasnt changed a thing in 8 years now....he talks big about winning the big games, but he falters in crunch time, again and again and again. We cannot be OK with that and say "he got us to 10-2, so that is great". Change your mindset.

Why the big question???? It's JAMES FRANKLIN!!! He is perhaps the dumbest coach in college football in terms of time management!

Put USF on there for kicking the field goal late in the fourth instead of going for it down by eight. Clearly, I’ll take it. But it’s still dumb. As a group of five team struggling offensively against a powerhouse like Alabama and you’re down by eight late in the fourth, you go for it

And this has bigger issues down the road when a game really matters. Rose Bowl PSU vs USC.....who remembers the end of that game? Lol, you should do a video of that ending.

That game (Rose Bowl) was the start of what is now going on 8 years of bad 4th quarter management and blowing games they were leading after 3 or close behind. 8 years of the same 4th quarter coaching and management. Its gotta stop.

@@jimmyplenderleith9471 I cant believe its been 8 years!! and nothing has changed with poor red zone calls and time management. His great at the second half adjustments but thats not enough when you play OSU or anyone that matches you.

Do Colorado cause going for it on fourth in the first quarter is stupid when you run the ball when your oline hasn’t got 1 good block

Good thing for Penn State that BG's offense lined up in the victory formation after that. If the Falcons' kickoff returner could've made a return, this definitely could've backfired.

But you also missed the fact that Penn State was getting the ball to start the second half regardless.

You could also do a Dumb Decisions episode about how slowly Bowling Green operated at the end of the game down by 2 scores
