I think the fake FG was far more egregious than this. The fake FG took points off the board meaning at the end of the game they would have been down by 1 instead of 4.
So of all the dumb decisions Brent Pry made in this game, you choose to cover the timeout over the fake field goal while the Hokies were up by 10? You say Welcome to Dumb Decisions, I say Welcome to Virginia Tech Football.
@kevinramsey417 As a canes fan, VT deserved to win that game. Drones played out of his mind, that running back went off l, and that defense frustrated miami in a way we might not see the rest of the year. Brent Pry cost them that game, not the refs.
I actually thought the squib kick was worst instead of kicking it threw the end zone the returner gets it between 15 -20 then takes it out past the 40 where Miami has a good kicker as well and needs just first down yardage to get in his range
I was watching this game and terrible to overturn the TD, but once the clock mismanagement by VT coach happened(end of game), I was like "well this is going to end up on dumb decisions".... wasn't expecting pre halftime dumb decisions
The last play should have never been called a touchdown. It should have gone to review right away. The video clearly shows the ball moving as the VT reciever landed out of bounds.
People seem to forget on that long VT FG, they had to players on the field, who wore the same 17# jersey, which is illegal! It was a 57 year FG and it would have been moved back to 62 yards!
This braindead decision borne from emotion was why Virginia Tech had to run a Hail Mary instead of a field goal. How hot is Brent Pry's seat, especially with a loss at Vanderbilt this season?
and on that same field goal they got away with having two players wearing number 17 so that should have never happened, they should have been kicking a 60 yard FG. Pry coached a HORRIBLE game and really got help from the officials multiple times. the holding call on the pick in the redzone was not holding, his play calling was really bad and shows why they lost not only to miami but also to VANDERBILT!
Cam Ward is the boogeyman, he's Mahomes in a way. You don't let him get the ball with both a sense of urgency, and a realistic shot at scoring. You will lose. This is the inverse of what the Bucs did versus Kansas City. Todd Bowles removed urgency, and survived. The game was decided by a coin more or less. Better odds than Mahomes and Butker with 30 seconds and three timeouts.😂😂
Please do another video, once again on VT football, on the last 18 seconds of the first half against Syracuse. The refs literally erased a VT timeout from existence.
You getting all uppity in your comfy chair judging hahaha. How about I'd want this coach because he made the refs win the game against a top 10 opponent.
@@Crussell04 Yeah, watch the replay, man.. It was moving and bobbling.. It never should've been called a catch to begin with because the refs didn't have a good view of it in the first place.. Horrible initial call, glad they got enough video evidence to reverse it 😉
Dude it was only a FG, Virginia Tech was going to lead at halftime, a FG is not as bad as a TD would. The stupider decision is on the overturn call on the final play of the game. The referee was dumb to NOT STAY WITH THE CALL when you can't tell who had it, it should of been Virginia Tech winning.
@nintendopeachgaming1647 The Miami db was out of bounds normally the tie goes to the reciever in college but since one was out of bounds it probably was ruled incomplete they need to come out and say why the call was made the way it was
@nintendopeachgaming1647 what do you mean if you can't see it? You can see the Miami player is fighting for the ball, and you can see the Miami player is out of bounds. Automatically a dead play
@@haroldplemmons9479 Not saying it was a catch. Problem is, they didn't have the indisputable evidence to overturn it. Should have initially called it incomplete.
@@jedimasterbones they should've, but I disagree with the narrative that there wasn't enough to overturn it. He very clearly never had possession. They're hand fighting for the ball out of bounds.
You're incorrect. Shared possession goes to the receiver and the instant he's made contact in the in zone, it's a TD. Furthermore, and more relevant, there is no way on earth there was enough OVERWHELMING evidence to overturn it. If you think that, I can't take you serious and you should stop talking about football period.
Sounds like your more mad at poor officiating then poor decisions made by the head coach. You should be more concerned with the decisions made by Coach Pry
"During the review process of the last play of the Virginia Tech at Miami game, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play," the ACC told multiple outlets hours after the game. Maybe it's just college ball rules
Wrong, there was no ruling on shared posession. Neither one of them had clear possesion of the ball(catch or interception) - thats enough to overturn the call, also, once Miami def was out of bounds and touched it, it is consdered an incomplete pass. He does not need posession of the ball. There are at least three pairs of eyes, including slow motion video, watching the play - Refs got it right! Finally, nobody brought up when VT kicked the 57 yard field goal, there was two number 17s on VT side. Thats was a missed penalty and that would have resulted in a 62 yard field goal attempt, if attempted.
You getting all uppity in your comfy chair judging hahaha. How about I'd want this coach because he made the refs win the game against a top 10 opponent.

Yes ; all VT needed was a field goal and had plenty of time ...
As a Canes fan, I agree the fake field goal was the most egregious mistake.
It changed the game completely.
JG9: "Cristobal, no!"
Cristobal: "What?"
JG9: "Sorry, force of habit. Fry, no!"
When the refs make a call 30 seconds after a play has finished is just them admitting they don’t have a clue what happened.
The fact the ref that wasn’t closest to that final play called it a TD is the issue. But VT not kicking that FG to put them up 13 was boneheaded
Me, who doesn't watch college football: Oh boy a JG8 Dumb Decisions video!
Cam Ward showed why he should be picked by my team after they go 1-16. I don't want any other QB in the draft.
Field goal shouldn't have counted 2 number 7s on the try at one time against the rules
So of all the dumb decisions Brent Pry made in this game, you choose to cover the timeout over the fake field goal while the Hokies were up by 10? You say Welcome to Dumb Decisions, I say Welcome to Virginia Tech Football.
To be fair, both decisions were asinine. The Hokies nearly won this game in spite of him.

I still don't understand that fake field goal. Why not take the points ?? Another head coach in over his head.
Brent Pry decision making as head coach has lost too many games in his 3 years.
Later in the game ESPN did make a graphics error making it look like VT Called a timeout instead of Miami

With two seconds on the clock. Not 25. Just 20-ish seconds is the difference between winning and losing this game.

Please tell me that was a graphic error
How many refs were on top the play? I recall three. Wondering if the replay people asked them anything?
