Demi, I get what you’re saying but nothing is staying the same. Yes you’re struggling with your ED but try not to think of that being a failure. Your whole attitude has changed since your very first post. The fact that you’re challenging yourself & carrying on trying different foods is also an achievement.
Don’t beat yourself up when you should be proud. You’re doing amazingly by overriding the ED & what it’s saying to you. Each time you do this is an achievement. If you don’t manage to do a challenge then don’t use that as a negative. Just get back on track with the next challenge. You’ve grown so much, you need to tell yourself that. Nothing is staying the same so be proud of the accomplishments you’ve achieved. It’s easy to focus on telling yourself you’ve failed when you haven’t been able to complete challenges. But what about the times when you have achieved? Don’t beat yourself up. Lots of love 🥰 xxx

recommend switching your dairy to only eating full fat over fat free as that way you rewire quicker the fear of eating full fat dairy, same goes to switching lower cal/fat free of any other food products, good luck!:) you can do it!

Thankyou so much this is such a helpful idea, I really need to switch out the low fat yogurt and milk for sure and it’s a good way to increase without actually adding additional food! Thank you so so much

Yes! I 100% agree with that!! It really does make a huge difference in our headspace- having the full fat helps give us a much more positive headspace.

@@Nadine56924there is zero reason for low fat dairy for 90% of the population. “Full fat” or “regular” IS healthy. Much healthier than the low fat counterparts.

Def butter the waffles next time!!! And add some nutella too and Maple syrup :) AND use store bought frozen fries (or takeout) and add some mayo and dressing in the wrap! (and of course use BIG wraps, not mini ones). You can do it! If not now, when? (amazing quote!!! You must do it NOW. Time will pass by either way. It's up to you to decide what to do with it. You won't feel any more ready tomorrow. So do it today!!! GO ALL IN and just do everything. BIG bread and buns and lots of butter and sauces and chocolate and proper ice cream etc.)

I know what you mean this is something I struggle with a lot sticking to my safe foods in quasi recovery and brushing it off and not challenging myself. Honestly I know what you mean it's harder than it looks I sometimes tell myself what is wrong with me do I have I problem and why do others find it easy and recover faster. But honestly demi I am in a much better place now pushing myself and challenging these thoughts. Also I think eating disorders are just so boring and nothing changes and I tell myself do I really want to live my life like this I also recommend getting rid of mirrors and not looking in them and taking a break on my phone and social media this has really helped I hope it helps you and font worry we will push together and get three this.❤❤❤

It's good that you are reflecting on what you know to be true about recovery and how brutal the ED is: "If you never do it, it's never going to get done, and you are literally going to be living like this for the rest of your life" ~ Keep that in your mind every day, how much time has been wasted ... This is something that breaks my heart every day after 22 years of fighting the ED. There are relationships and opportunities that I will never get back.
Eat the crumpets lol they are so good!
I've been thinking about Eggos for months, good on you for doing the waffles!
Remember what you said about the trade-off of compensatory behaviours. Your body is not a math equation!
I think you need to really consider what you said surrounding the sweet potato fries. While I agree with you that it's nice to eat natural/whole/clean foods, these thoughts are a very slippery slope on the way to having an orthorexic mind-set, which is a total trap of the ED. There is *nothing* wrong with eating packaged foods, and you *should* very much challenge your thought about this. Chances are in the course of your life you won't always have the choice of homemade sweet potato fries ... in someone else's home, at a restaurant ...
When you talked about not getting the item you wanted at the bakery, I was saying to you Demi: "GO NOW." As soon as you recognized that behaviour, you had the opportunity to make up for it. "There's nothing I want more than to move forward ..." DEMI: DO IT.
"I've still chosen to obey the rules" ...
Oh my God, Demi, please. Listen to that screaming. That is your truth.

Sometimes I think social media creates this idea that we need to be doing food challenges to be in recovery but that might be one step too far down the line for some people and if it isn't working for you ands keeping you stuck, you need to switch it up and change your expectations. It sounds like to me that just trying to stick to a professionally developed meal plan is enough of a challenge for you and would be a great thing to work towards... there is no point doing food challenges if it stresses you to the point where you need to compensate immediately after or the next day. Keep on keeping on but get back to basics in recovery and forget about what makes good content etc

TRUE!! i think sometimes its so easy to over complicate and get so lost and caught up within things. Ive been reading the book by Tabitha Farrar again its called Rehabilitate Rewire Recover and its sooo helpful.
