- Stuart and Cliffe Knechtle from the TH-cam channel @givemeananswer allowed me to join them on the campus of UNC to have some follow-up / sidebar conversations with the college students they were engaging with. This was one of those conversations and I really enjoyed it. I hope you do as well!

Thank you everyone for watching this conversation. I hope you find it fruitful! This was my first time really doing something like this on camera, and frankly, It's very strange (and also fascinating) to listen back and see all the different directions the conversation could have potentially taken. There are some things I wish I had persued, clarified, avoided, etc...
Ultimately, I know that this was not a perfect conversation but I also know that God is with me and desires to draw people to Himself. And so my prayer for this student is that the Holy Spirit would convict him of Sin and show him the glory and wonder of God's grace. That he would repent, believe & be born again.
More videos like this to come (each with it's own lesson to be learned & each with it's own desperate need of God)!!!
"Salvation is of the LORD" Jonah 2:9
The conversation was so good man. You said all the right things and definitely shared the Truth with that guy in your own unique way. God's Word will not come back empty! Trust that.
You did great! And I’m so thankful you spoke with grace. Alot of people doing this on campuses or the streets speak the truth with very little grace. You should do this more!

You were so gracious and seemed to really connect with him. May the Lord take your conversation and use it to cause this young man to seek Him. I pray that the Lord make Himself known to this young man and grant him repentance unto life.
Two very good people ( "..only God is good.." ) conversing while respecting one another. I did not see the judgmental "better than thee" attitude some said Christians have, instead saw a sadness on the interviewer that the student was not able to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at that moment. However, I sense that this young smart student will address Jesus in a more open hearted way and receive a greater movement of the Holy Spirit because of this wonderful conversation ( 1 Corinth 1:2-3 ..Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks..) May we all receive more of the Holy Spirit and approach each other in this graceful way

@@justin10292000 all you said is it something is true, it's important. Which I would agree. But you didn't demonstrate it was true. So I'm free to make up whatever I want to too
'The truth of a story doesn't matter.' It absolutely does!
Depends on the story. 🐙🐹
@thejagannath5670 Truth is truth. The grass is green, not purple. If you don't believe there is truth, then you really can't argue with anyone because nobody is wrong.
@@HSTOgaming Who's arguing? 🙄🐙🐹
@@HSTOgaming Exactly.
As long as the story moves you in the right way, the story has served its purpose. Regardless if you can prove it or not.
At the end, he was so close to a true understanding of the relationship with Jesus that we need to have. He said "If you serve your sentence for me, but morally I still haven't progressed past the fact that I committed that murder and I would still do it again, then what does it matter that Jesus died/that someone served my time for me" EXACTLY!!! That is the state we are in when we deny our need to repent for our sins. If we don't acknowledge and repent of our sins, Jesus dying for us doesn't matter because WE aren't sorry. Jesus's blood can't wash away our sins if we don't admit to them, ask for forgiveness, and change in our hearts to not continue doing that sin.
Perfectly stated!
Great point!
Bump comment ❤😊
So what you’re saying is that it’s less important that Jesus died than that we’re sorry? Honestly, I think you might be onto something there.
@@Rabbinicphilosophyforthewinhappy to be corrected here but I think the point is they are as important as each other.
Brandon I love the way you interacted with this guy, it’s refreshing to see! The way you communicate and share your heart is a true representation and example of Jesus’ character. I truly appreciate how careful you were to not argue or preach to this man, but cared about his perspective, and clearly communicated what Christianity is! keep doing what you are doing! Holy Spirit is really touching lives through your you tube channel and ministry!
He is gentle, non combative and genuinely curious about what non believers feel and think.
He isn't trying to 'win' an argument and is humble enough to listen without expectation of an outcome. Jesus's love shines through him ✝️💜
We need more of that!
Incredible conversation between both of these men. So much respect for both of them 👏🏻
Rehabilitation isn't a right of the offender, but rather a demand of the offended in pursuit of justice regardless if the offender is actually rehabilitated or not. A price must be paid. Actions have consequences.
This student was respectful, and I really loved that you didn't preach at him. I will be praying your words have left "a stone in his shoe", to quote Greg Koukl. Well done Brandon I am thrilled to hear you are joining Cliffe and Stuart with their endeavours, you are the perfect person to do so. Keep up the great work 👏
i feel dumb because now i cant look at my body and not see God's design. it's so obvious, it's embarrassing the amount of time i spent denying it.
Seriously! Now whenever I start feeling insecure about my looks I suddenly remember I am critiquing Gods beautiful creation- it has nothing to do with me, and I will not critique Gods perfect designs! It’s so freeing to understand. ❤
Dude I was agnostic for 20 years and once God showed me he was real I couldn’t believe I was denying if he “really” did exist. Like looking at the world and creation was so obvious and in my face. I just didn’t want to have the lens to see it I guess.
Cuz bruh you are beautiful. Fr
@@meganw9380 Well said, I'm going to share this with my wife!

Back in the old testament, they had to sacrifice animals to pay for sins, the animal served as a substitute to die for the sinner, every time a person sins an animal gets sacrificed.
Jesus (also called lamb of God) served as the final sacrifice to die for all sinners and bridge the gap between God and humans.
To bounce off this...Isn't it interested that in Leviticus and Numbers God specifically talks about the sacrificing of lambs for difference atonements and he specifically states "no bones shall be broken". Flip to the NT, and the lamb of God (Jesus) would have no broken bones. I thought this was interesting.
I love the respect, the calm conversation, and the ability to have a conversation with someone who isn't constantly hostile towards God.
This is awesome, Brandon! I personally love this format of live interaction between believers and those with questions, especially students in liberal arts campuses where these questions abound. God knows this is where voices of all kinds need to be equally represented.
Thanks so much bro!
totally agree...best to get them before they finish their education, and are still vulnerable!!
@@wiffleballer28 ** brainwash & are still thinking ** Totally agree!
@@wiffleballer28I understand your sentiment but the language sounds predatory. Be careful bro.
@@whitestone83 lol that's the point! this is what evangelists do...when they aren't targeting young, uneducated people, they are going after people who are in mourning, in dire personal circumstances, and who are sick and are more vulnerable to snake-oil salesmen selling eternal bliss and miracles.
“I shouldn’t have needed Jesus to have existed for me to access the truth…”
His instinct is still to rely only on himself - to be good, to know truth, to not suffer. He is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It is lonely and heavy.
True freedom and peace comes from learning how to trust a good God above yourself. I pray that his heart softens and his curiosity grows until he discovers that God is real, God is good, God can be trusted, and God loves him and invites him into covenantal relationship. As love replaces loneliness, trust replaces fear, and truth replaces deception.
AMEN!!!
Time stamp 11:00. "This is an interesting perspective I've never heard of before." Wow, how the church body has failed these kids. Please welcome the spirit into our lives so that when we share the love of Jesus, these kids hear the truth. Put ourselves aside and be used as God wills. That was a comment that hit my heart.
He's an educated American .. in a nation created in 1776 under God of the Bible as a Federal Republic ... of, by & for the People .... created equal with inalienable rights.
God is not a racist, sexist, Liberal white Man and hypocrite Christian from Virginia with the name Thomas Jefferson or James Madison .. but actually did created all People equal.
Why are you blaming the Church ... for people choosing to be moronic Liberals .. caring only about me, myself & I ... my opinions, beliefs, values, wants feelings and "interpretations" of plain simple text ... of the Declaration of Independence and Bible? Only a moron Liberal ... believes the 2A .. of the Law for Federal Government ... is about gun rights of every American NOT ... a well regulated Militia of the People of the US bearing firearms ... to police .. the Government to ensure no violation of rights.
The US was created in 1776 ... not 1791 ... under God of the Bible ... with all People created equal with inalienable rights including all of the rights given by God ... in the Bible. And God never said the white race is the master race and you can enslave inferior races and treat them like animals & property, or treat woman as 2nd class citizensv. Americans have freewill and are sufficiently educated ... to make their own choice .. concerning God of the Bible ... and the Declaration of Independence & Constitution. And most freely choose to follow Man not God.
If more people understood it well the first time rather it feeling somewhat forced or programmed to us then we’d all be Christians. Personally, since I was a young child I’d be forcefully taken to church and constantly switching never fully understanding the gospel rather thinking it would please God if I just obeyed him. But I didn’t even know God because I never truly accepted Jesus for who he was. After understanding it at 21 (the age I am right now) I thought “Who would ever say no to Jesus?”. He literally takes away shame, fears, pain, and gives us true purpose compared to the fake purpose I’ve created in my mind that would never truly satisfy me.

Dude, amazing experience. Happy to see you hang out with the man himself.
I have been binge watching your channel and this is my favorite video so far. One of the things I’ve found refreshing in some of your other videos is when an opposing view says something valid you acknowledge it as being a valid/good question/point. This conversation displayed how you keep that same graceful composure in normal conversation. I know a lot of your videos have your thoughts sprinkled in or recapped at the end, but I loved getting to hear more from you directly.
Thanks for the encouragement! And thanks for taking the time to engage!
What a lovely thing. To see a civilised conversation on a college campus. What a nice boy he is. God bless the two of you. All the best from Glasgow 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hello there!!! Praying for you in Glasgow!!!
We were separated from God because of sin and destined for death. The Cross accomplished the removal of sin and the resurrection accomplished the justification and sanctification (righteousness and holiness) of all who believe! Praise God! Great conversation! Hope to see more like this!
One of the biggest things I’ve realized coming back to my faith in god is that I long for relationships with people who share my faith.
Here, here . . . that must be why Jesus wants a personal relationship with each of us . . . suddenly near & dear lifelong friendships seem to distance themselves from us!
I pray that God will use this wonderful conversation to not only transform this young man’s mind and heart, but also reach others who haven’t heard the gospel or who have rejected it. 🙏🏻
I can’t remember where I heard this, but it helped me better understand the gravity of what Jesus did on the cross. To the discussion at 19:00 regarding why Jesus had to die on the cross and bridging the gap between humanity and God: Because we have an infinitely holy and righteous God, the smallest transgression or diversion away from infinite holiness or perfection creates a chasm or foundational separation between us and God that is the size of infinity. This also explains why God himself is the only one capable of closing that gap because he is the only infinite being.
That is well said. Thank you for sharing!
Bro, you're seriously living out my dream lol. Evangelizing with Cliffe and Stuart!? Not fair man!
I know, right? I'd love to meet them someday.
Cliffe believes in evolution and millions of yrs - I don’t get how you can be a Christian and believe in evolution - one negates the other
@@Unique_Monk I can’t speak for Cliffe but there appears to be clear evidence for micro evolution within species, this does not contradict anything in the Bible
@@Gorpmeat
my friend, let me help you out...
Darwin's finches, beak sizes differed on different islands
slight changes but the finches remained finches
modern science has proven that this is NOT supporting evidence for evolution but were caused by epigenetic mechanisms, i.e. DNA methylation which allows adaption within the same DNA
Cliffe believes we were monkeys unless he has changed his opinion - not only has this proven impossible, but implies death existed before Adam...if that's true then the wages of sin can't be death and therefore Yeshua is irrelevant
the 2 worldviews contradict each other - i struggle to comprehend why so many claim to be Christians yet have no idea what it actually means
@@Unique_Monk cliff doesn't believe in the evolution within the atheistic understand. If you watch enough of his vids you'd see what kind of evolution he talkes about and the one he believes in is pretty biblical or atleast has no contradictory towards the Bible. I believe he's said micro evolution is what he believes in not the atheistic view. Over and over again he says he can't believe that we evolved from apes or other beings because obviously thats not biblical. Watch more of his vids and make sure to listen.
Wow, what a fantastic conversation. These are the kinds of conversations I aspire to have with people

How wonderful that this young man is willing to have such an open and calm conversation with Brandon. Would that all of us could have the wisdom, ability to think and respond in such a calm insightful way as you do Brandon. God bless you and those who interact with you.
I love that you guys are doing this! I am a campus minister at Boise State and these conversations are huge. The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few!
So many students see these type of videos and it really helps jumpstart there willingness to begin a discipleship relationship. Thankful for the seeds you are planting. It’s a joy to see that I am often laboring alongside others in the body of Christ!
45 seconds in and I love this. I love that you got in touch with cliffe. I was going to message cliffe and ask him to go to my old college Chico State to hear him speak (they get rowdy out there). Thank you for joining Cliffe.
Love to see it! Respectful, open-hearted listening and mutual respect in conversation. THIS can reach people!
This was amazing, the fact that you stated multiple times that you weren't there too preach, but you were there to argue (in a good way) to hear each perspective is how it should be done I think ALL THE TIME, great video!!
That “if you’re being honest” was so expertly placed and delivered.
Great conversation. I wish you mentioned that it is said we all fall short of the glory of God, we are not Good. That person liked to say he was a good person and why would he go to hell, I think that would’ve been a good opportunity. Love your channel bro! God bless you and your wife🙏

Hey friend in the vid - love your open mindedness and gracious way of understanding the meaning even if the wording isn’t perfect, it’s rare and beautiful. These conversations are so important for us all and again, far too rare. Good, thoughtful questions that I think are part of the essence of the verse “work out your salvation with fear and trembling” - these are the things you work through. If you continue to ask and seek, the answers will be revealed. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for the encouragement! There is much to learn, but God wants to teach. That’s the good thing!
We need more of these kinds of dialogues, especially in my part of the country (Connecticut) where civil discourse and ideas can be explored without the eagerness to push an agenda on each other. Great respectful exchange!

I really appreciate how you talk to your fellow man, believer or not. You still respect their intelligence and curiosity. and you have such a way to speak to people about Jesus that is intellectual and personal, without condemnation.
This is one of the best debates of all time. Two intelligent people interested in the perspective of the other and sharing their own perspective back, of all people who disagreed discussed in this manner, the world would be a more successful and fruitful place.

Great interview Brandon. I would love to see more content like this. There are so many young people searching for truth and you are letting the Holy Spirit use you as His vessel.🙏🏻
It's interesting, this conversation really does highlight the true distinction of Jesus as the route to salvation. All other religions teach that we are wicked and should pursue the achievement of enlightened thinking and behavior, and all of them do an excellent job of demonstrating just how insanely difficult it would be to even attempt true virtuous perfection; many of them concede that humans ought to contend with simpler moral practicalities (good works/deeds) since the divine understands that we as mortals are limited and imperfect and can never truly achieve absolute divine justification. And even then, most of the good deeds are impossible to keep consistently, and eventually one will fall short. The old testament laws and additional guidelines that had to be followed in biblical days were so innumerable, devout believers had to walk around with dictionary-sized books chained to their waists so they could constantly remind themselves of which laws they ought not break, because it was a literal impossibility to attempt memorizing them all. Jesus did away with all of that, simply using it as a teaching tool to demonstrate that no man is perfect or ever will be.
Jesus is the only one that says "Yeah, I know you can't do it all, so guess what. You don't have to. Just believe in me, and I'll do it for you." He answers with arguably the most logical conclusion you could imagine from a human perspective (which itself is such a mercy, that an omnipotent being would appeal to us on our mortal/carbon-based level). What's more relatable, someone telling you "You simply aren't weightless enough to achieve true enlightenment, go meditate for another 4 years in the same spot without eating and maybe you'll be close", or "Lol you can't possibly hope to follow every rule for the rest of your life, why even put that kind of pressure on yourself? Just admit you're not inherently good and be humble about it, and I've got the rest. Let's just be friends ok?"
Perfectly said!

You did a good job brother. These conversations are always difficult to navigate, because we want to make an argument that leaves an impression of the love and truth of the Lord.
Yes! More interviews and conversations please!
One thing that sticks out to me where I think we're really missing the mark is that many Christians are trying to bring non Christians to believing in Jesus Christ through reason alone. And if we look at 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 it says, "My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power."
If we're going to talk about Jesus and validate his existence than we have to do so not only with reason but with God's power. Everywhere Jesus preached about the Gospel he healed the sick and diseased and told his disciples to do the same. That's what we need to start doing as well. Because people need more than just reasoning... They need to experience Him. This is something we have to remember when telling others about the Gospel. Lay hands on people, watch them get healed, and see the shift that starts to happen that allows their heart to be more open and receptive to the fact that God is real. It can't just be about reasoning alone anymore. When need to bring the Kingdom to people through the power of the Holy Spirit and allow people to experience physical healing and tangible miracles.
For your first time, it was really good. Personally for me, when i was first trained to witness, or tell others of Jesus, we would bring up to others the conversation of the question of what happens when we die. To get others to think of their own mortality is something that people don't normally spend the necessary time to really grasp and wrestle with, and really gets people to think about the why's of life, and of meaning and purpose
Brandon is awesome! Love what he puts out! I love the deep questions he tackles.

Fantastic conversation!
A beautiful conversation and an incredible example of respect, from both sides. On why Jesus died for us, there are so many details about that event it’s difficult to comprehend. One thing that always stood out to me was the doubt Jesus had before he passed ‘Father, why have you forsaken me?’. Slavoj Žižek helped me realise that 1) the depths of human suffering are strong enough to make God forget his identity (as a part of the trinity) 2) but also this shows us that doubt itself is not a sin as Jesus led a sinless life. To doubt is human, to wrestle with the idea of God is normal.
All that said your explanation of closing the gap was brilliant and very well explained.

and believe his teachings too about the "Kingdom of God" and "Resurrection of the Dead"
is
ETERNAL LIFE and existence on earth without sufferings, pains, griefs, sickness, and death.
Jesus Christ KNOWS
that his teaching about the "RESURRECTION of the DEAD"
is
his GOD and Father's guarantee that loving, kind, and respectful persons on earth who died recently and thousands of years ago like Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Job, King David, his Followers and disciples, and many others

and fully enjoy his and his GOD and Father's eternal love, kindness, goodness, generosities, compassions, favors, and blessings for eternity
under his loving and kind rulership, guidance, and protection as his GOD and Father's Chosen King and Ruler of the heavens and the earth.
Good conversation. I'd be exactly the wrong kind of person to speak to this student because I'm highly logical and go directly to the heart of any matter. All the extraneous stuff would make me impatient and want to keep dragging him back to the core question: Did the resurrection happen or didn't it? I'd end up saying something counterproductive like, "Facts don't care about your feelings."
I'm much better at talking to more logical people like scientists, engineers, physicians, lawyers, mathematicians, philosophers, etc. They tend not to get so hung up on "I just want a good story that speaks to me" and looking for a worldview that appeals to their personal sense of morality (which I think keeps scientists from wanting to investigate Christianity, but they made up their minds based on a faulty belief that science can explain everything).
A brilliant discussion, framed nicely by a measured and well thinking student.
I think with all detractors, or those just not yet convinced of the Christian message, who hold sound and credible and virtuous belief systems, they just need to keep stepping the questions back a notch and if they continue their own path of reasoning, ultimately they will arrive at the Highest Common Denominator, God, who is all poweful, mighty gracious and is the one essence in three persons, who lived and died for us. He loves us without question, and in Jesus' name and God's Holy Grace, we have life, and the promisen of eternity in His presence.. God, my God, you are The Man, I love you.
More of this please.
So good!
