    Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
    The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

      Us in the body of Christ do not celebrate a pagan day called Easter which is the worship of the God of fertility. We celebrate the day of resurrection. A bunny and eggs have nothing to do with the savior of the world resurrecting after he was crucified for our sins. God bless!

    • @grantbelanger9182
      @grantbelanger9182 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @@lukepowell1924 It's not the worship of the God of fertility.... it's a continuation of passover, look at the word for easter in russian for example, Пасха(paskha). Easter is not named after the english god of fertility, Eostr. Now, there was a month potentially named after said god in Germany (Eostremonath), though that's unlikely considering she was an English goddess not German. However, the holiday was named after the month, not the god. That's like saying the 4th of July is a celebration of Julius Caesar because July was named after him. The bunny and eggs came about because rabbits are out in the spring time, nothing pagan. That being said, I agree that Christians should not have an emphasis on the commercialized version of Easter.

      How could a God completely sufficient in itself have desire to create or do anything? Would that not imply a lack of or want for something? Also if time didn’t exist before the universe how would God decide to create it, when would he create it? these aren’t questions to attack your faith these are questions I’m genuinely wondering about

    • @stephenscaggs3747
      @stephenscaggs3747 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ultimately to use Cliffe's language, "I do not know." Those are excellent questions, and I've thought about them myself. My understanding first is God is three-in-one, and thus there is eternal community and love within God, which as you said, self-sufficient. However, the New Testament also reveals to us that "God is love," and whatever he does is by extension love. When I had children, while not self-sufficient, I had them because I "willed" them, I "wanted" them. I think this is the simplest explanation for why the Creator wanted a "creation," because his love is creative by nature.@@cjspell1440

    • @maybetoby
      @maybetoby หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @cjspell1440 to answer the first question, God takes delight in the act of creation. We get that from him too, we take delight when we create something. Whether it's a baker, sculptor, or painter creating a new masterpiece, or new parents bringing a new life into the world.
      The 2nd question is trickier cuz it's harder for us up comprehend that God exists outside of time. So asking questions like "when would he create it" don't really apply. There can be no "when" if there is no "time." That's not meant to be a cop-out, that's just not it is.
      God always existed. God created the universe. With the creation of the universe came the creation of time.

    I was on the fence about Jesus and God for the better part of a decade. I am 24 and for about a year and a half I have given Jesus and God an honest listen and a fair shot. As far as I am concerned it is more logical than not for their to be a god and if I am willing to believe the life and escapades of Julius Caesar with about 10 manuscripts recording it then I would be a hypocrite of the highest calibre to not believe that Jesus existed with the lower estimate of 6000 manuscripts. (There is plenty more that persuaded me but this would be an essay rather than a comment). This gentlemen in the video was who I was several years ago, I do hope that he will see that the ground he is standing on is not as solid as he thinks it is and what I thought it was.
    As a scientist (Chemist), too often do people jump onto scientific hypotheses and theories as though they are gospel. Science and The Scientific Method can only observe, measure and manipulate reality. Reality isn't made in a lab.
    As a footnote. No one in my family is religious and I have never be brought up in a house of faith, so the idea that someone believes in Jesus and God because they were raised that way doesn't hold much water for me.

    1:19 -- Even the theory and mechanics of quantum physics is saying that photons, the quanta energy delivered from fixed light, aka. something, does not support the idea that nothing created something, because quantum physics, especially in their wave-particles, are something, regardless of it being the building blocks or roots of atoms or energy building pieces, like electrons. In other words, the quantum realm is just zooming in further, it's not "nothing." Furthermore, we can't even know the properties of quantum physics, like position or momentum, and measure them. It is more a theory as say, this scientist would say the existence of God is a theory. So yes, it is more of a philosophical argument, because no matter how deep or small you go into science, it will never disprove a creator, in fact, quite the opposite.

    I love that this guy engaged. Clearly a super intelligent guy but who utterly lacks wisdom because the culture in which he lives has so muddied his thinking. Every time he is faced with a logic bomb, his brain goes into buffering mode ... you can watch it happen in real time. He brain is not buffering to understand the truth of the matter but rather to find some loophole he can cling to as a shield against the obviousness he wants to ignore. My favourite was when he raised Krauss as a source argument about "nothing" giving rise to creation. Krauss, himself, is massively impaired on this which is why he says we need to define nothing a new way which includes something. Thus, "nothing" is really "something". Only by redefining words (universal truths) can we pretend these atheistic models are sustainable. Excellent job Knechtles!

I don't know too many people here in the UK who accept the Genesis account as fact.
