Samsung blew the roof when it unveiled the ATIV Q, and not only with the record screen resolution of this convertible tablet/ultrabook device, but other novel ideas that beg to be approached with open mind, as there's barely a reference point for something like it. Does Win 8 support Giriscope function? I didnt see the image turning around when the display get upside down...

Very good review. Only thing missing would be a little more on the stylus input side of things.

Finally, the device I've been waiting for to REPLACE my laptop.
hey dude,the ativ q is running on the 4th generation intel core i5 processor.the ativ q also come with dual boot compatibility(windows 8 and android) with the press of the win 8 home button twice.the ativ q also comes with a screen with much more resolution.but sadly the ativ q dont have a rear facing camera.
man I was looking forward to this tablet coming out it's Windows and Android how awesome is that. Hopefully some one will make another one with Windows and Android in the future and it's a reasonable price.
Does the s pen can do all the activities of note 3 s pen....

I'm glad you told me about Manga Studio. I was considering buying it. The only thing holding me back was it cost more than my ativ. I'll just stick with sb pro until then.
I don't really pay attention to components. I just pay attention to the games they run. The 500t can't even run WOW. So I knew performance was an issue.

It's not been released yet for sale. There is a delay and mentions in reviews that it may not be released this year.

Finally a device I have been looking all this long. Seems a great convertible portable device. Though it would have been nice had there been an option of 10 incher as well. My only ques. Does it support 3G like other android tablets.

in an hands on video right at the announcement you coud see that Dual OS takes about 250MB blank without any app started...plus Windows and some basic auto start...there'll be not so much RAM left...
You're right, software handles the stylus density input, so you'll be able to see and work with more detail not to mention you'd see the clarity just zooming in and out as all artist do.
Warning replying to krisspykrapper he's a bit of a troll, he'll retort with any semblance of nonsense to have the last word, and will resort to insults if he can't think of anything. It seems to mean a lot to him.
It should be noted that ie10 and ie11 scale automatically with changes in the DPI settings. So while Chrome has to be adjusted manually, other programs do not. And with Windows 8.1 programs can have a much more dynamic/automatic scaling than was possible before.

I love my ATIV 500T also. The weight is awesome for drawing on the go and battery life is amazing. Caveats being it's barely fast enough to run Manga Studio, but maybe the rumored Fanless Haswell will be just around the corner. I found I really hate tiny fan noises in a tablet.
Is this only released in Europe? I don't see it in North American sites. Can't wait to get one...

Unfortunately there is no mention when and how the 4gb RAM are bottlenecking the device. Some Russian site confirmed that with the design of the Ativ Q it is impossible to equip it with 8gb right now, so me and many people in different forums are already complaining about it. When you run DUAL OS, Android also takes RAM, how far is multitasking possible then? In which situations is the RAM full? Also unfortunately no outdoor footage how bright the screen is and bad battery charts/test.

Numbnuts! S note was only slow because it was the first time dual mode had been enabled, it's seamless once you switch it on the first time :-P
I'd recommend getting a big ass desk top if you are serious processing power.
This thing weighs two pounds, doesn't run hot and 6 hour battery life aint too shabby. It runs windows. You can't beat the price.
You might want to look into the razer gaming tablet. If you are willing to give up those things for processing power.

I've known about this since the "Samsung Premiere" Show in London, when it was first shown back in late June. The thing that I don't like about this device is, that the screen is on the outside when folded away. This will cause scratches to the screen and other things. Samsung needs this to be a swivel screen, but can't because of the stand with the ports and slots. If anyone wants to get a Windows 8 tablet, go get the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T. Stuff the Microsoft RT and Pro ones.

Why would I want a bluray drive when i specifically said I use ISO's? Theres a usb solutiom for that.
I never said 4k movie editing, ANY decent HD content is a pain to work with. Opening multiple windows at once?On a 13" screen? Smart. I own both ativ pro and transformer book for developer purposes. Yes it will fit websites side by side... but can you even read it without zooming, yet alone doing something productive with excel on one side and a browser on the other.
That's true, and its still more powerful than the iPad or most Android tablets. Sometimes you just need more processing power though.

What im worried about is its capable in sketching much like or more than Ativ Pro 700t, especially its price when even ativ pro 700 is pricy.
T_T Though I think this would be able to run assassin creed 3 either low or normal setting with no problem.
But it's attractive to artists and graphic designers who want something they can draw with via a pen and p digitizer with pressure sensitivity, AND has better screen real estate than an ipad, and this is one of the only options like that

You could find it except in a few country because of copy roght issues likeamerica also they canceled it a year or two ago it was super pricey maybe 1250 would be a better price

The ATIV 500T is the best money I've ever spent. I hope by the time this baby burns out there are many more just like it with an improved S-pen.
