Don't forget the trunk hooks. We have a 2020 SR and it's a great car. Has features not listed on the website. When I compared to Toyota- both 5 star crash testing. And weirdly changing the color of the car removes some packages with Toyota so some people are not going to know they lost a package if they want a color and don't check out other cars same model. It (Altima) also has front and rear crash prevention and pedestrian warning, track control etc. Note also- having had 5 Toyotas and 4 Nissans (Corona years ago, 2 RAV4's, (traded a 2 yr old one on an Xterra 2015, and a Tundra, a Camry 2007, and 2 Xterras, a little pickup (got over 200,000 with little maintenance) in the 90's and the 2020 Altima. ) We prefer the Nissans. They last longer, the interiors don't fall apart, long term maintenance is WAY cheaper and easier. Toyota interiors in all of them except to Corona which I don't recall the details of, moldings and inner features fall off, clocks are off and won't stay set, the radio goes on by itself lots of screw ups. Both the Camry and the Tundra has the mat/accelerator problem. (use ONLY Toyota fixed mats or die) IMO Toyotas are WAY overrated and Nissans WAY underrated.
The only complain t I have is the salesman must have been new because he resisted showing us other trims and I would have bought an AWD and a higher trim HAD he shown them to us and given us the options. I know they had them because our grandson bought one from the same place same day lol. Didn't know it was actually that different until a few days later. In fact I told him that the next day after checking more youtubes AND informed him we had heated mirrors which the label said but he told us after buying it didn't have. He was surprised (hope he tries to learn more and not get trims mixed up) Yes it did and they work great.. but I learned a couple of things though I may not buy another car since I'll be retiring in a couple of years... DO explore trims, and be sure the color doesn't affect the package though this seems a Toyota issue.
Was deciding between this and the refreshed maxima and chose the maxima. Both beautiful cars. Also there is a botton thats on the back of the gear shifter that engages the car into sport mode. Otherwise excellent review.
HP not so key, torque is. 178lb.ft at 3500RPM is pretty good for a natural 2.5L. I had a 200HP TSX, but torque was 166lb.ft @ 4500RPM. The Altima is just as quick as the TSX. And you're getting 30MPG with AWD. All around good numbers. And this car is very smooth and comfortable. Cvt is smooth and much better than older gens
For a market of 35mil people the majority of which buy compact sedans/SUVs were lucky to have a 3 trim sedan with 1 engine, anything more would likely be a drain on a Nissan who can barely be bothered to do anything more than sell the Rouge while the potential of Athena Infiniti brand languishes.
Great review - in fact, everything's great :-) However, you've gone from Paul to Scott to new Aussie fellow. The lack of continuity can be jarring to your viewers - compare to Redline or Alex on Autos. In the About section. give some explanation of who the new people are and what their background is.
Sorry for the jarring factor. We totally understand. This gig takes up a lot of time and effort, however, doing it full time is the goal and would be much less jarring, just need a few more hundred thousand views each month!!
The only advantage is to the Nissan garage when the CVT takes a crap along with the wheel bearings struts airbag controller fuel pump.. I’d never by my wife another one of those pieces of crap if they sold it to me for $1.00
Family Wheels .. I’m sure there are a lot of people that have had good luck with them . I have not .. The car is on it’s 3rd transmission in 64k miles . When a manufacturer sells a lemon they should make good on it.. Nissan has not .. It’s a 2014 Altima.. There corporate customer svc basically told me sorry but we can’t help you .. Zero satisfaction from Nissan
Family Wheels Here is some food for thought Nissan calls their transmission a part not a major component so they only warranty it for 12 months 12k miles after they install one .. If mine goes out again it will cost more to replace it than the car is worth on a vehicle with less than 90k miles
Why do you need 225 HP? My lexus IS 250 has 210 hp. Its slow as hell. Its also massively heavier. My 2020 altima is much lighter and much faster. And on the topic of CVT, can u imagine if it was reverse tech? Like " OMG my 8 speed automatic jolts me every time it shifts! " CVT is only hated because its unfamiliar. Your reviewing a car that takes ppl back and forth to where they need to go. Do you really think that requires 200+ HP??? The most beautiful sedan I ever rode in was a Buick park avenue with a V8 that got 15mpg. It had 208 HP. Is your review targeted at those same buyers? Your way out of touch my friend.
I don't have the turbo.. and if you have one with sport mode AND know how to crank a transmission.... you can accomplish quite a bit.. Rule #1- pay close attention and don't get distracted... #2 (this goes for any car including a v8) turn off AC for the moment... #3 haul it- I have a little love of "drag" racing at lights... and I win.. pretty much always including with the Altima.. and get the jump by focus and knowing what it can and can't do and use of paddle shifting... you can pretty much own it. I had a 900lb Harley and had no trouble beating the crotch rockets.. same rules.. I might have got the turbo possibly if the salesman where I went in yuba city had had a enough sense to show me what else there was.. but then, I don't really need it. It picks up pretty well. Even up hill. and yes I do have a pretty high end radar detector lol

I've had my 2019 Altima Platinum AWD for almost a year, I love it.
Solid car! Quite enjoyed it too. It’s no fuss and very functional.
Glad you’re enjoying it!
Are you still loving the Altima? Have you had any issues?
@@bones6554 All good with it, yes, still enjoying it
@@Lennatron Thank's for the quick reply.
I have a 2020 Altima SR AWD the car does has sport shift the sport shift is a button on the back of gear shifter.
Any issues with your Altima?

Lots of great info here, thank you!
Absolutely agree with your opinion. Nissan's are amazing vehicles that with proper maintenance can last forever.
I have the 2020 SR all wheel drive with paddle shifters the sports mode button is on the back of the gear shifter
I have a 2019 SR I love iT
Car is terrible
It’s got a lot of positives 👍🏻🙌
@@mbenton6 Why?
While the Altima might not be as reliable as Camry and Accord, the exterior design is light years better than the other two.
Kaylon Centers I swear

The newer Nissan's are very stylish!
Thanks.Ilove this car. It's beautiful
The uneven door handles are tripping my OCD.

Beautiful car on the outside.. but I can’t do the CVT that’s the downfall.. 💯
Needs power
Yup. Could use the turbo!
My 2018 has 179 horsepower, unless you're racing or flooring the Altima, 182 should be plenty.
@@travelseatsyellowlab We often tend to have both the 'racing' and 'flooring' sickness, unfortunately :)
