  • The 2020 Nissan Altima SR AWD hasn't seen as much praise as other rivals like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, but does that mean it's worse than the other mid-sizers? And with healthy discounts at the Nissan dealers, does this Altima simply pack more value than the competition? People, do your research before writing a comment, seriously you look ignorant. They no longer work with the company who gave them the faulty transmissions since from 2013-2019, and it was only the 2.5 L that were more faulty, the 3.5 already had cooling part where the 2.5 did not, making it more susceptible to overheating. Lets also not forget that you should change the transmission fluid every 40k miles, otherwise your transmission can and will have problems down the road (you should in every vehicle, and dont believe someone who tells you its lifelong fluid where it doesnt need changed). Also, Nissan has a recall out on those transmissions so even if yours failed (whether nissan fault or yours by not taking care of your fluids) its covered. My 2015 3.5 Nissan has 130k miles on it and has absolutely no issues!

      I’m planning on buying a 2020 Nissan Altima..I’m sure it’s a 2.5L. You think even though it isn’t a 3.5..it will still be reliable?

@@miguellafortune Hey! I dont believe they make the 3.5 anymore, and I actually now own a 2020Altima now! Feels great and does great so far. The zero gravity seats is quite the experience it seems. I'm not sure what the red paint is called but looks amazing as well as the LED lights for the low and high beams. So awesome when the test drives are out in the country.

Yeah the transmission on this is the deterrent for me. It's made in Mexico, as well as the engine, and having gone away from it for some time I actually know what an auto feels like and I like it more. I did however, think that this car was more handsome than the Accord and the Camry on the outside. They cheaped out in some spots... I wish the exterior lighting was fully LED but I guess as long as they give it on the Maxima I can't complain. I like the Altima for it's tech and design and the zero gravity seats are better than Accord and Camrys ' . But the expensive parts being known to cause issue as well as built in Mexico are a never-buy for me. Sorry Nissan ❤️

I feel that Nissan could have gone the route Toyota took with the Camry and introduce at least a six-speed automatic, with eight speed auto and six speed manual as options. That should bring more buyers. Many people who drive/own this car complain about that CVT.

I would opt for the Kia Optima (no pun intended) because even though Korean cars have drastically improved, they still aren't at the same transmission, engine and build quality as the Camry or Accord. IMO without the Jatco CVT, even the Altima is better than both Optima and Sonata.
