I don't know wether you've heard, but even Tesla fans agree that the Model S doesn't really like going around corners. Add to that it's limited top speed and it's a brick that has fast initial acceleration, which would struggle massively around the Nordschleife. A track that has bumps which unssetle a car (bad if you've got a wobbly chassis like the Tesla), fast corners and very long straights. The Tesla might beat a normal 3-series if it's lucky.

Between these cars are 18 years. The main factors these days are tires and turbo engines with massice torque.

Commendably slow hands with a minimum of correcting and *no* sawing or overcorrection, laudably smooth, deliberate feet, superb car placement, admirably few mistakes or misalignments. Congratulations. That was a truly _excellent_ lap. Well done.
I got to drive this car last Friday - it is utterly sublime. Bravo to Porsche for making every car I now own feel inadequate.

Impressive commitment. Not surprising on a car so heavy that the front tyres are already real hot 2:45 into the lap, creating noticeable understeer.
I noticed the same (see comment above), the cutoff was about 175 km/h, when slight oversteer became understeer, with not much of an envelope to warn you.

Not me! I have a simulator and I only drive The Ring and I love it! I have driven it thousands of laps but wouldn't dare risking myself or my car to try it for real. It helps that the real track is on the other side of Earth and my sim is in the next room

I'm more for the experience to say I've driven the Green Hell in my life before I die, not to tear up somebody else's car or have that shame and headache on my record of going off at"TH-cam Corner"
Driven it half a billion times in Gran Turismo, you can always restart the race in a video game, real life is real life, can't restart that so I'll drive like I have common sense....

Amazing to hear how hard the tyres are working. This is not a light car but in these hands it's remarkably nimble. Would hate the tyre/brakes bill after a few such laps!
While watching this video, there are times that I thought I was playing Need for Speed Shift. This is exactly what you will see in Nordschleife track of that game. Awesome!

They did a few test laps, I believe on the Ring and in Monza. Nothing official to be seen though..
But man, that new Moby Dick is such a beast - haven't seen anything apart from maybe a GT2-RS with full ring-setup handle being slammed across the Curbs that well.

Demo Panamera Turbo S for sale, executive driven, never driven hard.
can almost guarantee this isn't the fastest lap. Porsche wins the game without revealing their best cards.
at high speed, there's some lovely turn in oversteer, which he was getting better at as the lap went on. But at slow speed, the front end grip turned it into understeer, and there were some corners where he approached not knowing what the car was going to do (and he almost got it wrong at least twice). So a pop up rear spoiler, and dial in a bit more understeer, and the car would behave better. It's a bit heavy too, could do with slightly firmer springs.
Meanwhile Audi RS7 is watching and dreaming about this record.

I used to think buying a Panamera was the worst thing you could do with your money when you could buy a well equipped 911carrera s and leave some extra change for the insurance and tax. But then you see what this can do and...I still would never buy a 4 door Porsche over a proper sportscar but never will doubt the DNA of a Porsche fastback..

onehorsepower in the facelifted panamera there is no standard turbo, there only be Turbo S and Turbo S hybrid since the standard turbo is replaced by 4S hybrid
Darrel Und there’s the regular turbo which had 550hp just from the engine and the turbo s which had 671hp from engine and hybrid system
@xHarux3 this is the new 2020 version, there is no Turbo anymore only a Turbo S with 630PS. A new e-hybrid is not yet announced. This is the Turbo S

In their book, they're selling image ...and in the end, that is what most people remember, that the track records on such category belongs to a Porsche. ...not a stock one, but that's just a small detail.

In the same 20.6km, the Panamera is quicker than GT63S by 0.37 seconds. Porsche have to comply with current Nurburgring regulation of counting the lap in full yet also provide the timer for the old layout for easier comparison to the GT63S

Amazing lap from one of my dream cars. Seems like a lot of turbo lag though? The last corner before the start I think it's most obvious, where throttle is pushed fully, but power comes in a little later, even though it's at 4K RPM. Maybe it's traction control/ESP instead of lag? Also seems like a big gap (250 hp) between no turbo pressure and full pressure, that's insane haha.

Jaguar EX Project 8 -- Lap Time: 7:18.361 July 2019. I'm not sure the XE's wing contributed the 11.5 second difference to the Panamera's time, but only one way to find out!
