I love my Cayenne - she's an old girl at 17 but you still feel every one of those 450 horses. The driving enjoyment is right up there with anything else I have ever had. I'm no racing driver but I know a good car when I drive one and the Cayenne takes some beating, especially with the turbo v8 lump.
IMO is not that impressive compared to what Audi did with RS Q8. This Cayenne is faster by 3.3 sec with 40 hp more and more sticky tires. RSQ8 was on 23" Pirelli P Zero and the Porsche on 22" Pirelli P Zero Corsa.
@@niveauto the Porsche have more downforce. It have 2 quite big spoilers at the back one is opening at 100kph+. More downforce= less top speed. And bigger wheels= more top speed= less acceleration. RSQ8 have one inch bigger wheels.
@@niveauto its true... Looks how big is the Porsche rear spoiler if its open. It do lots of drag. Imo those 3 sec is weak advantage because Porsche had much better tires. Tires do the best job at the track. Remember.
Amazing engineering but likewise big props to the tire manufactures these days. The quality of rubber we have now is astonishing. Throw some p zeros on an old 80's car and it would probably suffer some serious failures under load at speed without any significant upgrades to the suspension lol

Really love that he is switching between Full auto for the straighter areas to take advantage of the PDK shifts and semi auto for the more tactical areas so that the vehicle can hold gears longer. Porsche knocked this run out of the park! Changes shift method at 7:16 and 7:40
What is behind the blacked out sections at the end pulling back in??? Surely looks like the new GT3 RS (yellow), and an updated Panamera (gray) on the left, and something unknown right out in front... Exciting things to come! :) Congrats, fantastic effort here!

I love Porsche. Is my dream car… and if there’s something to be achieved, Porsche will do it… so congrats for another record. But I wonder, how different was this Cayenne, from the one that costumers would get? Brakes, power, rubber, weight, and so on.
There is nothing different to the consumer version of the car …the rules for official record on NS allow only to add a proper racing seat and roll cage cause of safety reasons 😉
@@mwaziracing-team5101 which, depending on the nature of the rollcage and the fact that the driver isn't thrown around in the seat like a ragdoll, still may be significant in terms of lap time. But all lap record attempts are on the same footing. Just as long as customers don't show up on touristenfahrten and expect to get anywhere close to it, no matter how good a driver they (think they) are. Times are for comparison only.
@@LukasM55 it is stock as per the agreed standard for setting records at the ring. All manufacturers make similar modifications when chasing records. Technically no record setting cars are 100% stock but this is considered stock because it only has the allowed modifications. All manufacturers do the same modifications so it is completely fair.
@@almac9203 thats true for the official lap records, but afaik the Cayennes lap isn't official. Mercedes for example went only 10s slower (already 2 years ago) with an indeed stock (no cage, standart seats, etc) GLC. After the lap they even had to be checked to be able to still pass the Tüv (tire thread, brakes, etc)

Nice job Porsche ! Please tell us something on the modifications, that where done to the production car. Rollcage and seat are obvious. Any other thing? Removal of parts? Special tyres? Modded suspension and engine? Please give us this information.
So on the ring, youve got a good 5 seconds over the X5M. 👍 So in a hairpin, pending the legnth of it, 40-60 mph, 60ish for a sharp bend, and on a sharper sweeper...110ish? Thats not bad at all especially for a 5000lb SUV. Dayum! 👍 thanks for posting this with the technical data. Thats actually quite useful. 👍

It's a Panamera, a GT2 RS and a normal taycan, the blacked out sections are there to cover some people identity, not the cars

Gut gemacht! Was ist PTM und PTV+ in den Anzeigen. Und: Schade, dass es den Cayenne als Diesel nicht mehr gibt...
PTM = Porsche Traction Management = Allradverteilung Vorne/Hinten
PTV+ = Porsche Torque Vectoring = Quersperre an der Hinterachse = Verteilung links/rechts
