    If the relationship ends over a ring, then there wasn't much of a relationship.

      At the end of the day, I really don't feel like this has anything to do with the ring, but more so the fact that Jake is dangerously immature for his age. He's literally whining and crying about how his 8-month-long relationship has been ruined because he was not allowed to get away with theft. This is not a man who is ready to be in a grown up relationship, much less be thinking about marriage.

    Sarah has some nerve demanding that ring. It was left to Amber by their late mother. Jake had no right to take the ring. It is a family heirloom, and it belongs to Amber. Sarah is an entitled gold digger whether she likes to hear it or not.

    This is so pathetic that there are no words to even describe it. If you want to get kicked out of the family, this is exactly how you make it happen. Unfortunately, Jake is one of those people who is too stupid for his own damn good. Even ignoring the fact that she refused her brother, Amber wanting to keep this ring inside of the family is 100% valid. Sarah is a stranger and she has no claim on an ancestral heirloom.

    My Mum always said sudden wealth at a young age ruins people. One of her oldest friends came into a huge family inheritance that was never supposed to go to him but his cousin died so his uncle left all his money to Mum's friend. They had 5 teenage/20 something kids when it happened. They were a really close knit loving family so the Dad set each kid up in a new house, fully paid for when they became an adult, and funded any business they wanted to start. Over the next 12 years every one of the kids' marriages ended (except for the eldest, who was already married, for love, before the inheritance) and they had about 8 failed businesses. All the kids were married for their money and easy life, and they never had to work really hard. It ruined them.

    • @shells500tutubo
      @shells500tutubo หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really wealthy families never allow a huge inheritance at age eighteen. Trust funds, yes, but those funds are doled out monthly, like a salary. One friend I had who came from a family like that said control of the fund came at age thirty-five, and in order to gain control they had to meet certain financial standards. Another thing they do is to not allow the trust to go to a spouse, so in the event of death it either goes to the kids in a holding amount or back into the family fortune.
      Adult adoptions are also forbidden to inherit. Just all kinds of restrictions most people don't ever think about.

      @@wednesdayschildfullofwoe It's the inability to end a relationship or create healthy boundaries with someone because you can't deal with ending it or putting distance. Just because it mildly gives you some sort of happiness.
      Should have never allowed the son to get away with touching the jewelry box. Not his stuff to show around. Did he deal with that? Nope. Should have never allowed him to ask for the ring in the first place. I mean there wasn't even a discussion about how unfair it is that he took the money and the car or how he would compensate his sister for it if she accepted. Don't make him mad and give him a chance to ask. Then when the son breaks in and steal the ring, he doesn't call the cops or even call the cops on the girlfriend for slapping his son. Because he still doesn't want to make his son mad at him or try to maintain the relationship. Take the post down by the family and goes to his apartment to make it work. He repeatedly let's his son gets away with things and can't out his foot down and then he is wondering how the kid grow up this way. Because he never had a fatherly figure that taught him to face consequences and behave with dignity. The son is the exact same way. He lets his girlfriend get away with murder and just like his dad zero accountability. I didn't know she was crazy and daddy that never made his son face any consequences doesn't know why his son is acting like a spoiled entitled child. Basically, his girlfriend to his son is like his son to him. Two people treating someone else horribly and the other two can't put their foot down and end it or create distance till they get their act together.

      @@wednesdayschildfullofwoe Parental issues? I have great parents and a wonderful relationship with them. I also have their support and love. But when I crossed the line, I was put in place. Also you are trying to paint it as I pinned the whole thing on the father. Nope, the son is an adult and responsible for his actions and so is the father. It seems to me there is this new thing to being a doormat is equivalent to being a good person. As a father, when do you step up and tell your child he is screwing up. An eight months relationship and fiancee that slaps his son and wants a ring that cost a fortune. When does he sits down and say hey kiddo, you are a mess. This is my advice and untill you get your life in order you can't take it out on your sister and me.

    Yeah, as soon as there was an issue with him wanting the ring, dad should have put the ring in a safe so son couldn't get his grubby fingers on it.
    Also, tell the son that if he ever shows up at your home without prior notice, the police will be called, and he will be arrested.
    Also file a formal complaint against the police officers, for unlawful detainment, and file a civil rights lawsuit. Filing a false police report and they didn't arrest him.
