Sounds great. I agree. I just cammed my RT with Comp Cams HRT Stage 2. I have high flow cats with my long tubes, but it is crazy loud. Some love it, some hate it and said its overly loud. And yes, tuning mine has been crazy. I used Hemifever. He did my initial stock tune, then all the bolt ons, but the cam has taken at least 6 tunes already.
@@DonnySRT it's not like there is a cookie cutter one size fits all tune either. Too many variables like DA and mod types and driver modes to get the perfect tune
I can imagine your car is super loud right now! My long tube headers go into the stock catback and I noticed a lot more volume and a lower deeper tone as soon as I installed the HRT cam. With a louder aftermarket catback it's gotta be significantly louder than that! Nice video man, it's good to see update videos from the guys who tried this cam out!
I tool mine to a dyno tuner today. He is going to bring it in a week from this Saturday. He states that with the hemis and these cams, it is really hard to dial it in without a dyno tune. He said you can get it somewhat close and it will run, just like crap. He is going to dyno tune at several rpms to get the casual drive and wot all synced
@@DonnySRT lol. You're right bro. I've already completed a major interior upgrade. I might just hold off and enjoy the ride for awhile. Just subbed by the way as well 😎
Definitely it sounds awesome. Definitely a large cam needs a tuning. Low vacuum requires a different fuel delivery, but once it’s done it’s going to work. I guess you’re planning to take it to Dragstrip to compare with stock ones. Good job!!!!
Thanks man! Yea, remote tuning doesnt seem to be working. If it was a mechanical issue the car wouldn’t run at all, so I’m likely taking it to get dyno tuned
Glad ya got it figured out. I have the Comp Cams 270 and I lost alot of lowend power when I went to th420is cam. I am getting ready to do a 3200 RPM stall to get the low back. But what is helping you is the 6.4 intake on the lowend. With my cam now and the 6.4 intake when I hit second gear at WOT the car starts to slide sideways and throws you back in the seat. My dyno I was putting down over 420HP at the wheels before the 6.4 intake.
@@DonnySRT Just curious what are the specs on your cam. If it's the new gen HRT cams I have been hearing that they are really hard to setup. Even though I have been thinking about going to the Stage 3 HRT cam. But that's probably the best way is going to the Dyno.
If by any chance you read this just know the problem you had of the tune not working properly is probably from the 6.4 intake manifold, that tune probably is for a regular 5.7 manifold

Yes the 6.1s are the best route plus if you can find them you will have money left over for mods, only thing that really holds them back are the 3:06 rear gears, but 3:55 or 3:73 and a tune, it’ll cut a whole second off your 1/4, it’ll eat scats with ease
