  • Hello Everyone and Welcome back to the adventure. I get asked a lot multiple times a day what wheels, tires, and suspension set up I have. On this episode we go through Anthonys 3rd gen tacoma and lift it with a 2.5 extended travel from icon, total chaos upper control arms, and icon rxt leaf pack to get him the proper lift for performance and also the clearance to run 35 inch tires.
    Parts Needed
    - 2.5 Icon extended front and rear shocks
    -total chaos uniball upper control arms
    -icon rxt leaf pack
    -35 inch Yokohoma Geo landers MT

    How to build a Tacoma properly - good start but you might want to clarify that those tires are gonna rub a lot off road without a cab mount chop and trimming. This build as is pretty much for the street or flat fire roads.

    I'd like to see that wheel turn and it be driven at the end of the video no way those 315 clear with out a cab mount chop

      Right! How in the hell did this guy install the TC upper A-arm with 35s without clearing the body mount? It adds caster, top it off with freak'n 35s !! :-O.... I was wondering that myself! I wonder if this guy put spacers which are dangerous. What about re-gear? Re-gear is a must too! Also, I love the 16" SCS wheels, but because they're toyota & jeep dedicated, they must clear the big ass caliper, or not?!!! :-O Beautiful set up but what about the rest of the dominoes?

    One thing you might want to consider since you mentioned building a Taco the right way is this. Changing out the stock drive shaft especially doing a 3" lift or higher! I've been using a double carden drive shaft from Tom Woods out in Utah for Jeeps and Tacos for many years now! That stock center bearing design from factory tend to go out very quickly especially with a lift. I know they offer spacers to lower that bearing but it's still better to use a double carden drive shaft and trash that stock one and no longer have a pesty center bearing! Like you mentioned, if you're going to build it... Do it right. 👍

  • @4xhoser
    @4xhoser 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What was the name of the wheel? I honestly thought a 16" wheel with negative offset, not 0 offset would hit the caliper, I kept a 16 inch 0 offset wheel because every wheel I tried rubbed.
    Good vid cheers

    • @jaxxvi5644
      @jaxxvi5644 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Negative offset pushes the wheel out towards the road not vise versa I have -25mm offset with the cab mount relocate kit on 315s on my 19 TRD OffRoad. Highly recommend more offset and trimming that mount

    • @4xhoser
      @4xhoser 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaxxvi5644 yes duh🙈 I should've said positive offset. So you did cab mount relocate and then some kind of lift and can fit 315s no problem? Nice I'm running 285/75s on stock wheels with no lift and don't rub, but 315s or 35s will be next once I find a lift I like 👍🤘🇨🇦

      Nice brand if you go off roadin or go on Sand at 50 mph but if you just want a lift to go mall crawling go for something else like the blienstien 5100 you can get about a 3in lift on them for 1/3 of icons price. Icons cool but horrible customer service and if you break something and send to them could take a couple months to get anything back from them

    This is why You'll get 13MPG.
    I believe the manufacturer spent millions on R and D to build this truck.
    The only lift I'll get is the one offer from Toyota.
    It will not void your warranty or cause other issues when your truck
    breaks down while it's under warranty or when you get into an accident
    good luck trying to get Toyota to bear the responsibilities.
