I did the arb compressor bed mount. Simple install no cutting but the compressor is exposed in the rear fender well. I’ll eventually get that expedition one. Onboard air has been one of my favorite mods so far.
Being a new Tacoma owner (2022 trd offroad) I had just started researching daily driver mods and this video pops up...perfect timing and thanks for the insight.
OEM+ is the way :) let's not forget that the trucks that get used for work all over remote areas of Africa, Asia, and South America are largely stock trucks simply fitted with the right tyres. A near standard HiLux, D-Max, Series 70, or Triton is capable of crossing a whole continent going over rough terrain. In the real world, doing real work huge tyres and lifts are rarely a reality, sure, some areas merit it (the Artic circle for example) but most of the planet is perfectly drivable with close to stock trucks.
Hey Chloe, one BIG mod I did on my 23 "Dark Taco"was "Miller Cat" cat cover, worth ever penny as I see it!! A coworker had her "cat" cutoff while at work from our Northern parking lot!! Did the Backflip cover, Luckyman Club Blue/Black seat covers. Being that mine is a base model w/cloth seats, they work great! Did the Toyota lock in floor mats, the lil silicone mat inserts AND.. From Amazon APS WtoW 6" running boards.. Made out of 6061-T6 Aluminum, a 500lb capacity, 6" no cap door check protection and a 3yr hassle free guarantee! Yes Please... I usually leave the tailgate looked, but might do the anti-theft brackets, but definitely the B/D Amber lights are next... Mark
Amber lights are softer on your retna in the long run opposed to white. Also, staring constantly at white light can frustrate the eye, and darker colors like blue and green have limited wavelength. I'm currently running white but hope to switch once I switch out my front bumper
For way less than the cost of the ARB compressor and all its related hardware, you could buy and install a complete 15lb. CO2 system that puts out a whopping 48 CFM - Enough to air a 35" tire from 15psig to 35psig in approximately 9 seconds, or all 4 tires in less than one minute. There is also enough volume / pressure in the bottle for you to use a 1/2" air impact wrench to remove approximately 540 lugnuts before needing to be refilled. - - And yes, it's gonna need to be refilled ($10-$15), but its resultant speed and added uses more than make up for the slight inconvenience, in my opinion. If you wheel your Tacoma a little too hard, you will eventually bend or break the Spindle and the Cam-Tabs. A good idea is to gusset the OEM spindles and install weld-on cam tabs. If you have everything apart, it may also be a great upgrade to replace the OEM Lower Control Arm like the ones from Dirt King. They have easily-servicable lower ball joints, greasable bushings, a spot to install limit straps, reinforced bump-stop plates, a drain-hole located below the lower shock mount - aaand built-in skid plates.
As a new TRD Tacoma 4X4 Sport owner I have question maybe you can help me with. At 2:44 in your video we see the TRD Wheel and center cap. My question is, will the TRD center cap fit a stock 2023 Tundra TRD 4X4 sport stock wheel ?
All good upgrades. Personality I own a 18 Toyota Tacoma double cab TRD off-road 6 ft bed and I bought it new and I was thinking about a lot of these things that you're saying doing but I've actually been so happy with the truck straight from the factory that I have not done anything to it. It does everything I ask it and more. I'm 54 and I'm not really into off-road like I was when I was younger so it more is used for going fishing camping hunting hauling wood or soil for the garden and it's just an all-around great truck. If I did do an upgrade it would be an OME suspension 33s and I would swap the 391 gears for 4:30 and a compressor. And maybe one of those tents that mounts over the bed I like those as long as I could remove it easily. Thank you You look like you're having fun out there in San Diego 👍
Any ideas for a first-generation SR5? I'm thinking of swapping the 2RZ for a V12 and maybe seeing if I can pair that with an R transmission. I'm planning on using it for hauling and off-roading.
Just be sure they check the load range on the tire. My buddy was running KO2s rated "C" and his PSI was at 35.. he wondered why the tire wear was bad.. For C load max PSI (without load) was 50 PSI... So that is crucial as well.
@TheBANDEMIC Ex. BF Goodrich KO2s LT285/75R17/C 117/114 tire with load range C and load index of 117 has a maximum single tire load capacity of 2835 lbs @ 50 psi, capable of supporting up to 2835 pounds or 1286 kilograms, while dual tire application with load index of 114 has a maximum dual tire load capacity of 2600 lbs @ 50 psi, capable of supporting up to 2600 pounds or 1179 kilograms when inflated to its maximum air pressure of 50 pounds per square inch (psi) or 345 kilopascals (kPa). LT285/75R17/D 121/118 tire with load range D and load index of 121 has a maximum single tire load capacity of 3195 lbs @ 65 psi, capable of supporting up to 3195 pounds or 1449 kilograms, while dual tire application with load index of 118 has a maximum dual tire load capacity of 2910 lbs @ 65 psi, capable of supporting up to 2910 pounds or 1320 kilograms when inflated to its maximum air pressure of 65 pounds per square inch (psi) or 448 kilopascals (kPa). LT285/75R17/E 121/118 tire with load range E and load index of 121 has a maximum single tire load capacity of 3195 lbs @ 80 psi, capable of supporting up to 3195 pounds or 1449 kilograms, while dual tire application with load index of 118 has a maximum dual tire load capacity of 2910 lbs @ 80 psi, capable of supporting up to 2910 pounds or 1320 kilograms when inflated to its maximum air pressure of 80 pounds per square inch (psi) or 552 kilopascals (kPa). So if youre running a max load of 2835 ( EX tired rated C) and you run it at 35 psi.. (like some folks say) instead of the 50 psi then your tire will wind up wearing down quicker. mainly on the outer or inner portions of the tire.
Chloe, I have a 2023 Tacoma SR, and with the access cab I wanted to use this for storage. Im not really sure who to contact for this mod, and I have watched a ton of your videos. I want to put something be it hard plastic, or something to protect floor in the access cab rear. I do not have anything back there, as I didn't get the utility package . Appreciate any help on this, thanks again, and keep up the great job you do. Mike from Chandler Az.
Is the white one a TRD Pro from the factory? It has the headlights from the 22-23 TRD Pro but the the badges are from the 21 and earlier and no hood scoop or sunroof. Either way it's beautiful. Any recommendations for Rock sliders? I'm looking for something that fits real close to the body. Love your channel!
Great vid! I think if you stepped forward though when standing next to the white taco so you took up more of the screen and you were in the forefront it would make a bit of improvement. You get over shadowed by the truck and the background a bit its hard to see your face. Like i said tho it was a great vid that you for posting!!!!! Just wanted to give my 2 sense on the framing i think you can command more of a presence by standing a little closer and taking up more the the screen. It would make it feel more like a friend giving you tips and tricks and less like a sales person standing off if that makes sense you do this throughout the vid i was more talking about the beginning.
Thank you for the advice! I was totally cringing while editing this one because of the terrible lighting 🫣 I think I have the audio down now with my new mic system, but my outdoor filming skills need a lot of work haha
I have to say the compressed air pump install was genius level. I carry the portable 12V air pump in my truck box, so I can see the advantage of having it mounted in the truck bed. I am a road ranger, so the thought of taking my truck off road or in dirt is against my prayer book...lol
I just bought a mini tire inflator it stores behind my rear seats and acts as a spare charger /battery. The bump stops are getting bought as the roads in SF are in 3rd world territory now
The specs are impressive on paper, and I love the interior/exterior appearance. I'm holding off on making any big decisions until driving/seeing one in person though!

If you're into tacomas and not watching this Chanel, you should. Chloe is the voice of reason in a sea of crazy mods.
I've added several of her suggested mods on my OR - good things for sure. Thanks Chloe!

Once I went amber I haven’t looked back. I can see better and more comfortably.
Good suggestions. It’s been fun putting mods into my Tacoma off road. Thanks for sharing😊
Always a great video when Cody 🐕 had his head sticking out of the window 😀. Hope you and Cody had a great weekend 👍. ♥️🌮🐶🐾

i went with KO2 also on my 18 tundra stock size tho
Love the video! What are the bins in the bed of the white Tacoma? They look like a perfect size.
Always great videos…keep them coming.
🔥🔥🔥🔥😎another awesome video Chloe keep up the good content 💪🏾
I'm digging those method race wheels. I'm definitely getting those titanium wheels for my Jeep Gladiator Mojave
Great vids Chloe🤠

Was thinking of getting a 2023 tacoma trd off road. Was going to see if i could get a trd lift and bigger tires. Like to have a rugged looking truck
Great mods and ideas! Thanks!

Was wondering if you have a front locker on your Taco and what you think about them?
you dont need it if you have to ask. plus you run the risk of breaking the gears in the front diff

Im confused did the TRD pro not always come with the factory installed snorkel?
Subscribed! I really like your videos. I am thinking on buying taco or tundra either this year and next year :)
God bless!
Where would you rather have the air compressor? Out back or under your seat? I recall you used to have a different compressor setup on the other truck
Hi great video can I ask you where do you off-road ? I’m from San Diego and would like to go somewhere local Thanks
KO2s FTW! I am also using some of your discount codes for interior mods. Thank you for those!!! Peace
shouldve got bead lock tires those will slip right off when off roading, how much a month are you spending for that truck? payment wise?
Rocksliders, front bumper & winch will pay back.
so did you move the compressor from under the seat ?

saw that elusive orange Tacoma today, orange is my jam!

Hi Chloe. What do you think about the new Tacoma?
Always Great Videos CK Keep Sleeping 😴 GBU And Family Always 🙏🙏
Winch is always a lifesaver, although doesn't look like you have many trees to hook to out there.
Awesome video!
Never owned one but I'm definitely getting the next gen!
Never buy all new for first two yrs minimum.
MasterCarguy44 Oh ok... just thought about it. I'll wait until they iron out all the issues first.
So you probably plan on buying the trail hunter Tacoma?
Hey are you trading in your truck to the new 2024 tacoma? If yes, which one?
What wheels are on the white one?
Off topic: which trim level has that LED headlight, has JBL, but no sun roof? Does it exit? Or, has headlight, no JBL and no sun roof?
What size tires are you running on this video ???
I'm here for you.
what do u think about the new tacomas

Jump or rebound on the whoops? Anyway, keep up the good work sis.
Wondering what your impression is of the 2024 Tacoma now that details are starting to slip out?
The specs are impressive on paper, and I love the interior/exterior appearance. I'm holding off on making any big decisions until driving/seeing one in person though!
Did you delete the compressor under your seat?
What bumper is that?
Are you going to get the 2024?
I’d like to test drive and see one in person first 😊
Just a warning that those oil filters can destroy your maf sensor if you don't oil them right
what do you think of the new tacomas?
Let's hear it for your dog!!!
Gonna be so sad when these vids stop for the 4th gen content!!
👍👊
Are we actually going to see any videos of you going off road?
💛🧡❤️
how about tools... and a battery powered inflator. oh wait that doesn't sell any sponsored products, carry on
$60k+ for two rails and a bed in this poor Obiden economy? Yall drive for maybe an hour a day? Good luck on that. You should be saving for retirement!
Listen kid, stick to school and maybe one day... Maybe is the keyword, I'll listen.
lol that was not a jump , that was a baby bunny 🐰 hop 💀💀
True, but any amount of air time is less than ideal for a mild build!
@@ChloeKuo im just pulling your leg, i flew on my 3rd gen the other day going over train tracks.I was checking everywhere for damage but nothing lol
How about you just buy a portable air compressor for $30 and you don't have to cut up you truck bed up.
