baby registry regrets // Part 1: stroller, car seat, nursery & feeding must-haves

  • 6 months after having a baby, I’d like to share my baby registry - what I can’t live without (and why!) and what I regret buying. If there is ONE takeaway from this video, it’s this:
Your registry doesn’t have to be perfect, and that’s okay.
It’s impossible to know everything you and the baby need until you actually have the baby! Discovering who your baby is, what they like and don’t like, and what you are capable of as a new mother is a gradual and beautiful process that goes far beyond the registry.
👇 Part 2: postpartum care, baby care, diapering, toys & books

Loved hearing all your reasons! Thought I'd give my research/reasons. I have 2 kids, hope this helps others.
    1. Loved the same car seat especially the dream drape and for all the reasons you said. It's worth mentioning that an infant one is not a necessity, can get a convertible instead. Also need to consider if you want it to be compatible with stroller and what adapters work.
    2. I also got a double stroller but uppababy vista.
    3. I got a diff cover for the infant car seat because the ones that go under the baby are not safe. And you're suppose to take it off in the car to prevent overheating.
    4. Those can be a hazard in a car crash so this is parental discretion but I wanted to see baby.
    5. I didn't use these but halo sleepsack and love it because of its versatility but can possibly be warm for summer babies.
    6. Some people just need an audio monitor. I'd say if you travel a lot it's worth getting an non wifi one. This one took a lot of research for me.
    7. Love my dreamegg portable sound machine.
    8. First bottle mentioned are actually terrible for breastfeeding babies even though they're marketed for that reason! I hear dr Brown are a pain to clean. Each baby is so different so this also took a lot of research. And agree on the paced bottle feeding.
    9. You're so right and they're totally optional. I didn't use it much for mine but I know a couple people who have used it a lot.
    10. That brush is THE BEST, they're top tier.
    11. Wish I had got this drying rack first.
    12. 100% haaka, didn't know about those trays.

I have watched soooo many videos similar to this and yours has been my favorite so far! I feel like your advice is so realistic and breaking it up into different videos is so helpful. This wasn’t near as overwhelming/information overload like a lot of the others out there! Keep it up, mama. 👏👏

First time mom here. My son is 6 weeks old today 🥺 Our breastfeeding journey was rough and short lived I’m sad to say. We had lots of issues but the biggest was weight gain for my son. I was using the Haakaa religiously every time I nursed him and I was also able to get a pretty good freezer stash in the beginning. What I didn’t know until we saw a lactation consultant was that I was taking milk away from him before he got to it. So all that milk I was able to store up was actually supposed to be going to him, not just extra let down that would’ve been wasted.
I’m not sure if it’s well known that you don’t use the Haakaa on the side baby hasn’t gotten to yet, or if that’s not usually an issue with other women. I was having a supply issue on top of it so it could’ve just been an issue for us. I did suction it on pretty well to my breast to extract more (that’s how I saw another lactation consultant using it on TH-cam. You squeeze the reservoir area, flip the flange back and put it on that way). I’m not sure if that’s how you are supposed to put it on that way. My thinking was if I was “taking that milk away” then my body would think I needed more. Clearly it was an issue for my son and I.
So basically my comment is just to say I did love the Haakaa while I used it, but I kind of starved my son without realizing it. I think it’s a great product just make sure you are using it properly and don’t be a silly lady like me. Like I said I’m a new mom and we are trying our best over here!!

25 weeks pregnant with my second baby, (a girl!) I have a 3 year old Son and I have been checking out "must have" videos to see if anything has changed much and to get advice from other Mommas. I really appreciate you mentioning flame retardants because I do my best to avoid the toxic nonsense, too. I am going to subscribe because I appreciate your vibe, for a lack of a better word. My mom brain is foggy. Hope you have a great day!

I came across your channel after watching a few “baby must haves” videos. I’ve got to say, I hope you post part 2! Just part 1 was so real and helpful. All the other videos I’ve watched have the most expensive items on their “essentials” and I’m thinking, really?! That’s a must have? You really reinforced my thoughts on swaddles (hold off until birth) and not needing the hatch. The thought process behind the baby bottles was helpful, too. Please keep posting! 🙂

I would say if you’re planning on having another kid in the future you should get a stroller that can convert Into a two baby stroller. Cause I’m currently pregnant with my second and now I have to get a whole new stroller that fits two kids. Like yea my son is almost 2 but there’s times when we just need him ti be chilling in a stroller

  • @danai4117
    @danai4117 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes finally what's up with the strollers? Some of the very expensive options just don't justify the price. I feel your sadness about how breastfeeding went, ours also ended very early and it can be really disappointing.

I do not like the Hakka, I kept knocking it with my arm or baby, Elvie has a much cooler design now that you can put in your bra to catch the milk.
