    Ok this might have been too long and maybe too brutally honest?! 🫣🤪but I know navigating all these choices for your baby can be OVERWHELMING, so I sincerely hope this is helpful! I'd really love to hear from other mamas! Do you agree or disagree with any of these?? What are your must-haves?? Drop a comment for the new mamas below!! 💕

    This was super helpful! I am almost 30 weeks pregnant and my baby shower is coming up, I also spent wayyyy too much time researching my registry and what I want for my baby. I also have a non-toxic and more minimal desire so this was perfect timing and actually helped me decide or choose against a few things! Motherhood looks amazing on you! I can’t wait to get to experience it too!

    I agree with most of what you’ve said! Things changed a bit for me once we had more than one kiddo (we have three now). It gets to be A LOT when you try and have more than one kiddo only rely on you lol. We have a sound only baby monitor (idk if it’s less EMF or not), and it gives me the freedom to go outside with my other kiddos and not worry about stranding the baby if he wakes up sooner than expected. And swaddle wraps were a life saver in those early weeks! Another essential for us is a pack and play; we can keep the baby in a safe, contained space in the main living room whenever I have to keep him away from a mess the big kids made.
    And to all the mommas who are expecting for the first time I 100% agree with Mollie: trust your momma gut, be flexible to adapt to your baby’s unique needs, and give yourself freedom to figure things out as they come. You’ve got this! Think of all the mommas in history who made it with far less, and yet the human race persists lol

    I just had my first baby a month ago, and because my husband live in a tiny apartment in Europe, we knew right from the start that we would keep baby items to a minimum, and honestly I haven’t “needed” all those excessive baby items… totally agree with what you said in this video! 🙌🏼

      Oh my gosh you're amazing. I actually thought about that a lot when building our registry - "if we were living in our tiny apartment in Italy, what would we need?!" It's a good perspective for us as Americans to remember we don't need as much as we are marketed!!
      And CONGRATS on your first baby!! Hope it's been a beautiful postpartum despite the hard, sleepless nights - What have been your own essentials so far??

    What do you use to store the breastmilk you catch? Glass? The bags?

    41:48 we were gifted a wipe warmer and honestly… honesssssttlyyyy she cant tell the difference LOL I’m debating if i want to stop using it bc it also produces a bright blue light when it’s on so i end up turning it off halfway through the night

    Absolutely love love love your list. As a mom of 5 you killed the simplicity of motherhood and keeping things realistic. I love Primally Pure. But have you heard of Earthley Wellness? What’s your thoughts?

      Aw this makes me so happy; I feel honored to have the stamp of approval from a PRO! Mom of 5, you are AMAZING!! I haven't done much research on Earthley so I can't give any opinions

    what milk bags do you use?

    • @MollieMason
      @MollieMason  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Ok I feel like milk storage is a wholeee other rabbit hole I could've rambled on about but I stopped myself since I feel like I already covered so much 🤪 I've gotten a few different brands but I prefer the Dr. Brown's ones. I naively bought glass storage jars thinking I could avoid plastic entirely but that was silly of me 😆 So I use my mason jars + storage lids (the ones I shared in my soup video!) to pool my fresh milk in the fridge, then after it's cooled (usually I go the 4 days) I transfer it into the Dr. Brown's bags to freeze. Then when we're ready to use, we NEVER heat the milk inside the bag - I always thaw it in the fridge or on the counter until I can pour it into the glass bottle and then we put that inside another mason jar with hot water to heat it. lol more detail than you asked for but I was wondering these things as a first time mama so maybe someone needs to see it!
