Maybe it’s pregnancy hormones but I’m literally in tears watching this because I feel like you’re exactly who I needed to have in my life right now. I’m having my first baby in December and you’re the big sister I don’t have. My baby shower is in a month and so far we don’t have much of anything. Thank you for sharing all the tips and information.
Done having babies and still watched! We loved the pampers swaddles and Huggies natural wipes too! We used our swing and bouncer about the same amount. Used a sterilizer maybe twice then decided it wasn’t realistic. Diaper warmers sometimes dries out the wipes. And loved the same sleeved and sleeveless blanket things.
I don’t think I could’ve said it any better! I’ve been SO overwhelmed on all baby registry things/ knowing what’s worth the investment and what’s not. This is my first baby and I’m due in January. My sweet sister has been asking for my registry to post on the baby shower invites so the pressure has been intense to finish it!! This video just made my life 10000000000x easier! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience after 2 babies. Especially with big ticket items. Thank you for cutting out any fluff and debunking the need to have the fanciest/most expensive items. You’re a God send ❤keep doing what you’re doing- I’m definitely a subscriber now
Omg finally someone who is due in December, it’s my 2nd baby but my girl was a may baby and I feel like I was spoiled haha, she stayed in bodysuits most of her first months, I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed this time, the cold is scaring me 😭😭
Due in December too!!! Wishing all of us a safe and happy delivery ❤❤❤ i totally get you about the feelings chiming in any kind of situation... for me, i'm having my first baby and i'm in a foreign country, so i get your loneliness feeling, but we're gonna do just fine. Big hugs for you and your baby!❤❤❤
So refreshing to hear an honest, no nonsense and no mom-shaming opinion from what feels like my online BFF. You’re the best! I have a 15 month old and WOW the RESEARCH on EVERYTHING. It’s never ending. Thanks for being so frank and organizing all this info for us, our brains can sure use a break from time to time ❤️
I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first and when you said "are you overwhelmed?", I audibly said "yes" lol. Your point about how you could literally research each item for days is SO TRUE. Thank you for this! Its exactly what needed.
When I was pregnant last year I read somewhere that all a baby actually needs is a safe place to sleep, warmth, and food. Everything else is for the parents’ comfort. It helped me keep things in perspective and not think oh I need to get this and that to be a good parent. Don’t get me wrong, parents’ comfort is important, but it’s also extremely relative.
Totaly agree. I was stressing because I didn't feel prepared enough, I hadn't bought everything yet and hadn't researched enough and my midwive told me, all your baby needs the first week is you. You don't even need cloth, you just keep it to your body and Wrap both of you in blankets. Helped me a lot to relax (and we had plenty of cloth, don't worry)
100%, I am on my second and there are plenty of things we buy because we think we need and in reality all it does is just adds to the load. I'm building my registry and I realize there are so many things this time around I'm not buying. Basics is diapers, wipes, clothes, burp clothes, wash clothes and where to put them to sleep. As they get older you will start adding things but st the beginning it's not that necessary.
Coming full circle with this video… I first found your channel when I was pregnant with my first baby and watched like a what’s in my hospital bag video, and now here I am with 2 babies 6 years later, and probably haven’t missed a video since! I’m glad you did an updated version of this after having been through the throes of motherhood, so many new mamas will appreciate the advice from big sis Jess! 💕
Hi Jess! I am 28 weeks along with my rainbow baby and I have been watching you for years. I watched all of the baby videos back when they first came out with no babies and now I’ve gone back and rewatched them to prep for baby now! (thanks for being there for me!) When I tell you how thrilled I was to see an updated baby video from you now while I am pregnant - a small dream come true!!!!! Thank you for the advice!🌈 love you friend
Jessica, the original version of this video is how I found you! And your videos seriously are a God-send. They got me through those long days and nights of third trimester and into postpartum. Thank you for all you do, I know there’s so much more that goes into a social media gig than people may realize, and the mental toil and struggle is real (I also work in social media but for a big company). Thank you 🙏🏽 and blessings to you and your Fambam!
This is one of my favorite videos you’ve ever done. Something about hearing about baby/kid stuff from someone who’s a little bit removed from it (as opposed to someone who just had their baby two months ago) is so refreshing and actually helpful!
Omg I LOVE YOU! I’ve been looking for info on what NOT to have on my registry, but there’s so many “registry must-haves” and “don’t forget to add this to your registry!!” videos and they’re SO stressful, especially as a mom who is mostly only wanting the essentials and wants to know where I can save money in order to afford the products that actually matter. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU ❤
I'm pregnant with my first baby and i've been watching your older registry videos while trying to set up my registry and I ran to this vid so fast. What good timing!!
A year ago I wasn’t pregnant just watching your videos for fun and now I’m 23 weeks! I’m rewatching everything just trying to get all the knowledge I can.
I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby! I have watched your videos for around 10 years I want to say, and two days ago I went back in the archives to find the video of when you packed your hospital bag for Felicity! So full circle, and I am very excited for this one :)
I'm two years PP and watched all the baby registry videos when making a registry and I wish I had a this one. This is hands down the best registry video on the Internet ❤️
Girl, I love that you made this. I'm on baby 4. I found you when I had my first baby bc I saw your video of what you pack in your hospital bag (my first is the same age as yours) BUT I think every new mom needs to see and listen to this video. I have many experienced moms and they gave me good advice like this. Not everyone has people like that and here you are filling in for those that need to hear this. I seriously love that you made a video on this topic 👏
I am 62yrs old. There are so many new things out there for babies compared to what we had it’s incredible. Nice of you to do this video. To me was to keep it simple, safe and practical. 😊
I had so many of these exact items in my cart already, which I think shows me I was on the right path. And it makes me trust your other suggestions. Amazing video. Thank you!!! 😊
This could not have come at a better time for me! Due in March with my baby girl 💗 the options for each baby item are soooo overwhelming so this was extremely helpful. Thank you!
Are my babies 6 & 4 years old? Yes! Are we planning to have any more? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Am I watching this because Jessica is my comfort? Absolutely YES! ❤
Love this! My kids are 2 years and 4 months old the old and the advice you give is so spot on, especially the diaper pail and brand vs. dupe info. You really don’t need much and you don’t need designer/name brand.
When I was pregnant I went back and watched all your baby videos and they really helped me! So these are definitely helpful! And the video where you shared your experience with the c section you had to have with felicity put me at so much ease when I found out my first baby was breech. I went into it knowing what to expect and was able to remain calm all thanks to you! 💙
Wow wow wow, 8 months pregnant here and I NEVER thought you would come out with a video like this right now. It's like you knew! I love you and you have no idea how much support a video like this from YOU means to me right now. ❤
Honestly so much good advice! In the last 7 years since I’ve been pregnant things have changed soo much and there are so many options!! Thanks for breaking it down!
I find these videos so interesting. I had my first baby back in February and I definitely have my fair share of things that didn't work for us or I didn't use but then I have favorites and things we use all the time. I'm learning it's so personal to each family and every baby and you don't totally know until you try things out for yourself or see what you really need or find useful. I would love to see more content like this maybe some of your daughter's favorite things or things you've found useful for them at these ages. Have a great day Jess!
9 months into parenting my first and I definitely agree with this. You need the essentials and everything on the market meets the same safety standards (cribs, car seat, stroller, etc). There is a lot of ‘nice to have’ things but truly our babies only need US, food, clothes and a safe place to sleep ❤
I found this video so comforting! I stressed so much when building my registry and even after my baby was born because I was intentionally not choosing the most expensive items. I felt such guilt and indecisiveness about whether the expensive items were really needed. So much of what you said resonated with me and I feel relief hearing that not everyone thinks you need the “best of the best” version of everything. The dupes are great! Thank you for this video. I am now almost 5 months postpartum and happy to report that my baby is happy with all her items even if they aren’t the same ones all the other moms have 😊
Diaper pail: We bought a regular soft-close stainless steel trash can and used doggie poop bags to wrap each diaper. It honestly helped a lot with the smell. Plus, I already have a dog.
Absolutely helpful haha. The reason I found your channel was looking for what to pack in my hospital bag and baby essentials from a couple years ago. Now I can’t get enough of your videos!! 😂❤
The similar videos you made before/ right after having your 2nd were so helpful to me for my baby registry. With my almost 1 year old, my only addition is to your comments about a stroller. One more thing to consider, that we didn’t realize with ours, is make sure it sits up upright enough. Our Chicco feels like it needs one more “upright” setting than it has for our 1 year old to be more comfy, so we’re thinking of getting something else now 😅.
I just wanna say I actually found your channel over a year ago because I like watching any baby related videos even though i’m not having kids yet lol and I found some of your ones right before you had Felicity, and I have stuck around ever since. You really are like a big sister I don’t have so thank you Jess for taking the time to do these videos and explain everything!! You’re the best❤️
I found your channel when I was pregnant with my first and saw your baby regrets video- a few years and two babies later and you have become my favorite TH-camr! This video really brought it full circle though!
I'm in the western Carolinas (in Upstate SC). It's been a difficult week. Your videos have been a bright spot and something normal and comforting for me. I appreciate you continuing to make them all this time!
I’ve been a silent follower of yours for many years and I’ve been binging your baby videos cause I’m pregnant now with my first. This video couldn’t have come at a better time! Thank you ❤
Just became a Nana❣️My hubby and I have 9 between us!!! So many things mommas can survive without ❤editing Nana here saying thank you for providing an escape from the world wide event that took place ❤️Love you Jessica! Impeccable timing 👍🏽❤️🙏🏼
Yes, it’s so helpful! Came here to let you know that. I came across your channel from your baby registry videos, and ended up staying and subscribing. Jessie is the internet sis I need!
Watching this as I feed my 6 month old son! As a first time momma, it’s so easy to be overwhelmed with the ads. One item I would add that to my family was a God send was the Owlet Dream sock monitor. Loved this update on baby products!
Soon-to-be-dad here. I've watched a couple of these now and it really helps lower the barrier-of-entry for baby registry shopping. Many of the items and products are foreign concepts to me, so weeding through the fluff and getting to the real necessities is a huge help. I'm also a product review goblin and want to make sure our dollars are going to things we will need and will last.
Could not be better timing. I am having my first baby in March and I just started creating the registry! Over the weekend I had literally gone through your channel and watched your old videos about baby stuff!
I’m first time preggo, his video is very helpful. Confirmed some of my theories and a lot of things I registered based on reviews but it’s nice to have a recommendation from a mom
My best advice for a highchair is to get a really good, nicely made of real wood high chair that you can use for all of your kids, and then pass down afterwards. I lived in Michigan at the time and got a highchair handmade by the Amish, and that highchair is the greatest quality, and I will use it for my grandkids as well.
hi, I just wanted to say thank you. I'm currently five months pregnant and I didn't plan any of this. I've never had a mom (she passed when i was young) and all the advice from everybody feels so overwhelming because it's just all so different and everyone's so close to being my age that it's kind of scary to trust them. Thank you for posting this. My dad doesn't know the first thing about a baby registry.
We are a snaps pajama family. I know everyone always recommends the zippers but I say get some of each for your first one and see what you like better. Both I and my husband found it less convenient to have to wrestle out their second leg that doesn’t have the zipper and undressing them all the way if the zipper is from the top (all winter babies) than just unsnapping just the bottom and snapping it back when done. 🤷🏻♀️
Never been so happy to stumble upon a video in all my life!! Currently pregnant with my second child BUT my first was 15 years ago. The AMOUNT of crap there is now is so overwhelming and all the opinions and all the research! It’s nuts! Not to mention the cost….holy bananas Batman. Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much! I feel like overwhelming is absolutely the word for when you start looking into what and which one. It's my first one and I have no siblings and no one really to guide me through all these choices and this video just gave me the relief I really needed and great information.
Not having anymore, but maybe we can do a toddler version? ❤ my daughter does not need anything, but I always like knowing what are the top toddler products for others.
back here for baby number 2 coming. I used your videos for our first and we had no wasted baby items. I still am going to buy one or two things as I now know what to expect and what we used a lot of with our first. Thanks for saving our family SO much money!
Your previous video from 2 yrs ago popped up in my algorithm and I’m so glad you just posted an updated list! I’m expecting my first baby next Spring and it’s been so overwhelming creating the baby registry.
Feels like a full circle moment- I originally found you with your “pack my hospital bag” with your second girl and now I’m expecting my second one as well and just to see your growth and love of a mom and content creator- anyway just rooting for you from a distance ❤ my fav content creator by far!
Expecting my second in a month and this definitely helped me feel more prepared for what we actually need/don't need the second time around. Thank you!
You said comfortable chair and I was like, “Yessss!” That was a surprising must for me with the first baby and something I would splurge on every time!
I have the Doona for short trips and the Mockingbird single to double stroller for longer trips and am obsessed with both!❤ and LOVE the Halo sleep sacks both the cotton and microfleece versions! Pampers Swaddlers diapers are my fav as well as Millie Moon. Keekaroo changing pad has been so great for my little guy. I have the large Ayla diaper bag it has sooo many compartments and fits everything and it’s nice my husband doesn’t mind wearing it because it’s not so girly. Also thank God for bouncers or I’d never get anything done! I got the Bjorn as a gift but it definitely does not need to be so expensive - if I had to buy one I’d get a more affordable one for sure. I LOVE the bath tub you posted the price is great and literally is so easy to use! Dries super quick after as well! We have a little guy with horrible reflux only the Dr. Browns bottles work for us to avoid extra trapped gas - we got the glass bottles and they have been so great his burps also seem to come out easier too! We got bottle racks from Amazon! We also have Ergo baby embrace and he hated it at first until he was three months old lol. Just wanted to rundown on things you mentioned 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I am 22 weeks pregnant and all I’ve gotten is a crib and dresser. Everything else stressed me out and made me feel like I won’t be able afford the things I thought I needed but really are just “wants” thank you again!!
I love this! My youngest is 7 years old and I am now due in 8 weeks- I got rid of all of my baby stuff. And so much has changed in 7 years!! Thank you!
Hi Jess!! Love your videos. I feel like you’re family! I am 61 and my “babies” are 36, 35 and 21. Just watched for fun! I only had the basics for the first 2. That was really all that was available back then. So much more “stuff” when my youngest came along. I loved the wipe warmer but you’re right, it’s not a necessity. One thing I would suggest is a pack and play that has the bassinet and changing insert. Our bedrooms were on the second floor and that was so convenient for me when we were downstairs especially in the beginning. Hope you have a wonderful day!! 😊
Amazing! You seem to be uploading videos exactly when I need them! This was so very helpful. Trying to create our registry for our first and really struggling with all the different products out there.
1) I don’t have kids or plan on having kids, but I still always watch these videos for Jess and my friends who have kids. 😁 2) I always either learn a new word or hear a word I haven’t heard used in forever. This video’s word: superfluous. Thanks for improving my vocab. 😂
SO here for this video!! Your Mom/baby content is how I found you when I was pregnant with my first 😊 hoping to try again, and TOTALLY trust your opinion!! 💗
I’m due with number 2 in January. I often think about these things ha and what I really used and what I actually need/ want to get for this new baby. This was a wonderful surprise to get an updated video on this. 😊
I’m due with my first baby in June 2025 and omg, the sheer amount of baby products is wild! My strategy so far is to start with a list ahead of time off the top of my head instead of choosing from a massive list created by a website. This way, I hopefully won’t get into the mind game of deciding if I need some obscure item that was only invented 10 years ago. My philosophy is that if a mother didn’t need it 100 years ago, I should have a clear reason as to why I would.
Jess. I found you in 2018 when you were having Gigi and I was having my last baby, through a baby content video. I stayed for the beauty and vlogs. 😊 This video makes me so happy and nostalgic. ❤❤
Hi, Jessica! I'm not going to nor planning to be a mum, I just tune in to listen to you speak! YOU ARE MY COMFORT TH-camR! Thank you for being there for us! (You ARE our sister!) 🥰
I’m struggling with a nursery chair. I know you have suggestions of a rocker but you also have a suggestion of a rocker/glider/recliner. I’m leaning more towards a recliner that also rocks or glides but I’m wondering if I’m doing the most? Which is better or needed? Btw, TYSM for this video!! Mom to be and all my gf kiddos are way out of this stage of your video!! 😘
I just had my baby shower and now I'm looking at the leftover things on my registry deciding if I really need to buy out the rest of it and second guessing absolutely everything. It's crazy how the baby product marketing is like "if you buy the wrong version of this thing you are causing harm to your baby!" as if we don't worry enough. Your videos always help me chill out a little about what I'm buying and know that I'll figure it out, even if I end up with some purchase regrets along the way it's okay
30 years ago, I shopped at consignment stores; used hand me downs and my sister and I shared baby items. When hers would outgrow something, she’d give it to me and visa versa. Also, there was no pressure re: brands before social media!
I’m 5 weeks out from my due date. This was super helpful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you! 🤩 I love your videos no matter the topic. I learn so much from you in all your videos so thank you for that.
I would also say that it can be super helpful to have a few things for mom on the registry or gift ideas like a cleaning service for the first couple of months, a meal train, some comfy nursing tops and a big water bottle.
Have fun! Don’t know if this is your first, but I bought my crib, first stroller, bassinet and car seat on Nextdoor for around $200. All items were used less than a year with the exception of the crib. I saved hundreds of dollars initially and was able to be more particular and invest more in the items she would use after that first year. Bed, nicer stroller and so on.
I have 20 burp cloths and I feel like that’s the perfect amount for our fam! I have one on the couch, beside the bed, on the nursing chair, I use them in the tub to keep babe warm! We go through so many every day!
This helps sooo much! It's my first and I'm trying to fill my registry but I've been uncertain about some items and you helped me to tidy it up a lot, also to show that sometimes I do know what I'm doing when I'm picking things.
I think this is the first TH-cam comment I have ever left in my life but I just wanna say I have watched you consistently for years now. You're probably the only person I have followed for such a long time and continued to look forward to seeing and I kind of think of you like my virtual friend/only slightly older sister. I am pregnant with my first (a girl) and have just been thinking I'm so bummed Jess isn't pregnant right now and that her girls are getting older bc you are the only person whose taste I consistently share and can trust but I know you're at a different stage right now with kid stuff. I literally had that thought like a week ago as I have been having so much dread around creating a registry and I had a lot of suspicions about certain things not being worth it/even needed and you confirmed them all. When this video dropped yesterday I was like this is a Godsend. Thank you for posting this friend you are such a resource for us all ❤️❤️
I just found out. I'm not in the greatest financial situation. I seriously appreciate this video. It has helped relieve a lot of the money stress I've been having about this.
I thank you so much for this video. Although I wont be giving birth for another 5 months, i didnt want to wait till last minute in trying to research and figure things out. Its so true that as an expecting mom, alot of these things can be super intimidating and a bit stressful, at least for me. From thoughts about what will be healthy for your baby to probably what would also be convenient for us as parents, but all in all, this was an amazing breakdown on the things different things needed and honest opinions about the products out there ❤
This is such crazy timing but we are preparing for baby #2 and I’ve been rewatching your baby playlist the last few days and I was so confused when this popped up for a second but much needed!
Maybe it’s pregnancy hormones but I’m literally in tears watching this because I feel like you’re exactly who I needed to have in my life right now. That burnt orange color is stunning on you!
You read my mind!! I was thinking the same 🥰

I am just watching for fun- no babies haha!
Same 😂 my babies are 21 and 23 ❤
Same! I'm like hey this could help me buy presents for people.
Same no desire to have a kid any time soon just love watching Jess 😂
I’m a dog mom so the strollers I’m looking at for my oldest are very different. 😂🤣
Me too!😂
Jessica, the original version of this video is how I found you! And your videos seriously are a God-send. They got me through those long days and nights of third trimester and into postpartum. I am 63 yrs and a Mimi, but I will watch you as a huge fan! This is so good for all the new Mommies 🎉
I don't need a baby registry, but I'm alwayz here to support my bestie! 🩷
We are adopting and baby girl due early next year and just starting ours so thank you!!!!
Congratulations ❤
Congratulations! ❤
Congrats!!

Unlocked a new level of Jessie videos after years of watching. I’m 7.5 months pregnant and my shower is this weekend. This is PERFECT timing.
A year ago I wasn’t pregnant just watching your videos for fun and now I’m 23 weeks! I’m rewatching everything just trying to get all the knowledge I can.

Only watching because I love your energy and honesty, purely gives me joy watch you talk.
I am now almost 5 months postpartum and happy to report that my baby is happy with all her items even if they aren’t the same ones all the other moms have 😊
Diaper pail:
We bought a regular soft-close stainless steel trash can and used doggie poop bags to wrap each diaper. It honestly helped a lot with the smell.
Plus, I already have a dog.
Absolutely helpful haha. The reason I found your channel was looking for what to pack in my hospital bag and baby essentials from a couple years ago. Now I can’t get enough of your videos!! 😂❤
Yay!! I’m so glad you stuck around!!!
Dr. Brown’s bottles, double zipper onesies, and sleep sacks were all so helpful to me.
First time parents here! Thank you for being so real. Such a well done video. You’re easing my wife and I’s nerves for sure. Thank you
I found your channel when I was pregnant with my first and saw your baby regrets video- a few years and two babies later and you have become my favorite TH-camr!
Thank you ❤
Same here, no babies either just fun to watch. I never miss a video.. no matter what it’s about😂
Just became a Nana❣️My hubby and I have 9 between us!!!
I’m so glad you’ve found it helpful!! 🙂
Watching this as I feed my 6 month old son! As a first time momma, it’s so easy to be overwhelmed with the ads. One item I would add that to my family was a God send was the Owlet Dream sock monitor. Loved this update on baby products!
I've been watching your baby videos for years, just for fun, but this time I'm pregnant with my first! 🎉 Thank you so much for the updated video! 💗
Oh man perfect timing!!!! Congrats to you!! 😊
My dad doesn't know the first thing about a baby registry.
thank you for making this video so genuine and emotional (in a good way) and not technical and honest!
Thank you! ❤
My sister just found out she is pregnant! Perfect timing for this video ❤❤❤
I can’t believe I missed this video on my feed. Had my baby 6 months ago and your last baby video was a game changer. It was so helpful! 🙏 thank you!
I found you all pregnant and your baby content is absolutely amazing to me. I’m so happy you came out with a new video like this. Thank you!!!!
I second this!!!
Yes please!!
Yesss!!!
Same!
back here for baby number 2 coming.
Perfect timing ❤ mom of 4 little ones and expecting a baby in February. I agree with your list. We don’t need every new gadget out there.
Omg you don’t know how badly I needed someone to just be all honest about this and not all cutesy
Feels like a full circle moment- I originally found you with your “pack my hospital bag” with your second girl and now I’m expecting my second one as well and just to see your growth and love of a mom and content creator- anyway just rooting for you from a distance ❤ my fav content creator by far!
TTC here and I’m saving this video!! It was so helpful and amazing!! And really makes me feel at ease with all we’re going through..
Thank you!
I’m due in 2 weeks and I’ve watched all of your baby content to help prepare. Love your suggestions in this video! ❤
You were asking in a previous video how we find you. A past video like This is what made me find you. Keep doing these types of guides love it 😊
2) I always either learn a new word or hear a word I haven’t heard used in forever. This video’s word: superfluous. Thanks for improving my vocab. 😂
SO here for this video!! Your Mom/baby content is how I found you when I was pregnant with my first 😊 hoping to try again, and TOTALLY trust your opinion!! 💗
Genuinely appreciate your time and efforts❣️buckets of gratitude for making this video
Thank you so much!!!!!
In the third trimester now and this couldn’t have come at a better time! ❤❤
I totally agree!! That’s a great idea)
I just started our registry and really appreciated this perspective, thank you!
Oh my gosh, I just found out I am pregnant and I am a first time mom so this is absolutely the most perfect video you could’ve posted right now lol🥰💕🍼
I have 20 burp cloths and I feel like that’s the perfect amount for our fam! I have one on the couch, beside the bed, on the nursing chair, I use them in the tub to keep babe warm! We go through so many every day!
First time mommy here! Thank you for making this video! It helps so much🩷
I always watch all your videos even if my kids are grown up and I don’t need any baby items. Love your channel. ❤
Thank you for posting this friend you are such a resource for us all ❤️❤️
First of all thank you for sticking around!! 😁😁 secondly, I hope this video was helpful and CONGRATS!!!!!
Both my kids are out this stage but I’m watching because I love your channel ❤ love the consistency ❤
