For me, after 20 or so runs, my servo needed to get replaced. The brushed motor also burnt out on me after my first run in grass. I upgraded the system to a hobbywing ezrun 18a and I believe 5400kv ezrun motor. It hauls. Another issue I had was the a arms. I broke one of them on my first high speed collision with the front right tire having impact with with a real car tire. I upgraded the a arms to aluminum and replaced what needed to be replaced with stock parts after that collision. I also heard that the suspension works better, and you have less breakage when it’s put upside down, with the shaft on the top. I’ve also heard the diffs are big issues and most people have the upgrade.
I have 2 of these for my boys, and these runs bashers alot so had to do alot of upgrades on these alot. I put traxxas metal gears in the stock servo and they seem really well now, even the 1/10th scale servos strip out right away and had to upgrade them all with traxxas metal gears, they should come with them from factory. I agree, the stock driveshafts are junk, upgrades to the blue aluminum ones from amazon, they seem to be holding up. Also RPM a-arms are defintely and upgrade, stock ones break really easy. Last thing was a hotracing steel spur gear as stock strips easy. almost spend as much as you pay for it to make it from breaking all the time, but they are holding up now good to abuse. I also use gorilla duct tape on the bottom of body to keep them from cracking. good video on these little trucks
aaaaaaaye, I just got one yesterday, broke the steering servo cus I'm stoopid and had to push on it lmao.... bought the steel geared 2065X traxxas servo, and this thing is a lot of fun to drive! I've also got a Stampede 4X4 and an XMaxx *my baby*
Every time something breaks I fix it and something else has broken within 10 minutes the last 4 times. I just found that the set screw that holds the gear onto the motor had completely backed out and tore the spur gear up
Does this over heath and stop if I use a 30C 1300 mAp battery? Ive been really struggling with this car, first the balance wire dangling and seems to have been causing electric shorts. Yesterday a new fully charged lipo battery on desert sand. The car stopped after 4 minutes and refused to restart despite several attempts. Always in Lipo mode.
@@DaKrEm2.6 thanks David. Enjoy the Arrmas. Need to think of a car for my 4.5 y son. Teton was ok if it really worked. But it hasnt. Maybe a small erevo. Dunno. 👍🏻
I got one for my son he is 9 now and he loves it. I was thinking about getting one so we can have a little fun. He wants to use my outcast but its to fast for him
Diffs on mine right out of box stripped. Crown and pinion gears need shimmed to be tighter before you even try it once!! Trust me… I’ve been into RC for 35 years…
Just got one. Battery doesn't last 10 minutes.mind you it's outside in snow but still for not running full bore shouldn't we get more than 5 minutes of runtime. Anyone else?
@@DaKrEm2.6 FYI I didn't know if it was the cheap charger or the battery so I bought a new battery and a 4 amp charger at a cost of $140 canadian with taxes. The new battery lasts way longer. The battery that came with it still only lasts 4 or 5 minutes with the new charger. Now to figure out if I can get a replacement somewhere.
So nice to see you starting your daughter so early and with a quality product! Nice video with good details. Thank you!
Thank you for all of the helpful information. I did not know about the axles, though I broke one of the rear a-arms already though.

Do you know how to set the servo endpoints?!
Can you use the wall charger that came with the truck to charge the lithium battery
Thanks for the info. Picking one of these up today and I’ll grab those driveshafts right away!!
