@@nameeman8322 lol super confused.even on ss i have a brushless 4500kv Teton and its as fast as 28... hell you get that with a brushed 540/1/18 in wltoys 979..
Thank you, I just subbed. Please do an update to the latrax prerunner. I just got one and would like to upgrade all the durability as best as possible. I will be ordering parts through your website soon! Thanks again!
I’m buying my 3 grandsons these and your mods are excellent. Two questions... 1 - Why did you install the steering servo ball on the bell crank arm on the outside vs how it came from the factory as being located on the inside of the bell crank? 2 - What size drill bit did you use to drill out the steering servo bell crank? Thanks for the shock tip - Noted!
I don't have a Teton (just yet) but assuming the dimensions of the savox servo is identical to the stock servo then it seems pretty obvious to me that you should replicate the stock configuration with the new servo. It would be a particularly good idea to check whether the two servos have the same output splines and if they do, simply remove the old servo arm without touching any of the ball links and then reassemble the whole assembly just with the new servo in the old ones place.
Thanks for the shock and Lipo tips. Would like to put a stock or aftermarket Lipo in this truck. The mounting "ears" of the OEM Traxxas servo fit in a slot on the servo bracket. Looks like you put the Saxon servo "ears" above or on top of the mount. Were they too wide to fit? You also placed the ball on the servo arm up instead down (like original). These mods made a pretty high push / pull steering link angle. Any issue with the servo sliding or steering link popping out? Not criticizing, just wondering how this is working out. So far, the stock 2065 servo has worked fine. Make sure the servo saver mechanism isn't tight or locked up. Lil drop of silicone lube helps. May change to MG if the plastic gears in mine ever do bust though.
I ordered a metal Spectrum brand servo for the Teton. The stock one stripped out less than 2 batteries through..mind you I just bought this teton in 2021, 3years later from when this video was made ...you would think traxxas might decide to put a better one in stock? Mabe it's a moneymaker for them but , I won't order another traxxas mini servo. They want you to buy there metal gear servo box for 30-40$ the metal spectrum was 15$ on Amazon.. Good video man!
Awesome video, these are my next upgrades. I have replaced my gears in the steering servo already and I could only find the cheap plastic gears ⚙️ Thanks for the information, this little truck (Teton) is a beast!
any reason you mounted the servo ball on the outside instead of the stock position on the inside? It would seem to me it works better when the stearing arm is on the inside?
Hook Em Up Fishing u know that they make a clone version of the Teton that is 40 dollars and is more durable that the Teton I own a Teton and the clone and I like the clone better the battery is bigger and it is faster
Are those two the same besides the tires and body? I'd like to order the teton today, but if I could order additional wheels and an extra body to swap the main chassis into a prerunner that'd be dope!
Would this be a good outdoor runner that will keep up with a slash 4x4 vxl as far as in the grass? I'm looking for a truck for my daughter to fun against me before buying her a slash of her own.
No, they're both Traxxas connectors in this case. You can absolutely run any suitably spec'd 2S lipo pack that'll fit in the truck though but in that case, yeah you might need an adapter.
How much longer does that battery last than the original one. Also is there anyway the 5800 mah traxxas lipo battery will fit? Like will it fit sideways?
Have you ever reviewed the Dromida Monster Truck Mt 4.18 1/18 scale, waterproof, 4 wheel drive, and a slightly lower price point. Also had the glued tires with foam inserts.
Can i also use the savox SAV-SH-0254 High torque steering servo? I think it would be better and also its the same size as the savox 0257 servo so it would fit as well. Can a high torque servo be better?

Mlg Dank rc look closely at the video when it shows the servo in the package. I originally bought the SH-0255MG. When it didn’t fit I rewatched the video and noticed a different part # on the package in the video.
@@baltod4978 I know this is from a while ago but just thought I'd point out the logical fallacy in your argument, because how did you rule out the possibility of still losing reverse on that run even if you hadn't switched to the lipo battery? When it comes to fixing stuff in general this is the problem with thinking that correlation automatically equals causation when it doesn't, because it tricks people into ruling out all kinds of things they couldn't possibly have ruled out since they're absolutely certain what had to be the cause.. when in reality they're not because they couldn't possibly be. So the fact that you lost reverse on the first run after switching to lipo does not automatically mean that the lipo was definitely the cause, because it's always possible that you still would've have lost reverse even if you hadn't switched to the lipo and since we can't travel back in time it's literally impossible to rule out. There is a way to tell if the lipo was most likely the cause though which would be replacing the esc and try using the lipo again to see if the same thing happens again, and even if it does it still doesn't absolutely guarantee that the lipo is what caused it (believe it or not) but at that point it's a pretty safe bet to assume it is. Anyway just thought I'd point that out considering you didn't mention anything about getting the same results on multiple esc's, and along with the fact that your experience doesn't seem to be common compared to others using lipo.. it's not conclusive that using a lipo caused you to lose reverse like you seen to be convinced it is.
People say they burn them up on the stock battery and a lot of people run lipos no problem. Don't run it full throttle all the time, check the motor temps more often, don't run it in tall grass all the time, get a fan setup. Simple stuff. The ESC has lipo mode, obviously it can handle it if you use a little sense.
Traxxas now makes a metal gear replacement for the stock steering servo, TRA2065X. I found one on Ebay for $40.

The 3000 part refers to the amount of charge the battery can hold. The voltage is what matters. Are they the same voltage? 8.4v I think it is?
Does low voltage mode equal no reverse?
Normally not, I think you accidentally put it into “RACE” mode
