I put in the same system and already had the programming card. Shimmed the differentials, put in thick, grade 3 open gear grease with moly, latrax 14t pinion with steel Hot Racing 60t spur, hobbypark aluminum center brace, steering assembly and shocks with RPM arms. I put in a regular, more waterproof Traxxas receiver box with a Spektrum 3 channel receiver bound to a DX5C transmitter. Oh, and went with a metal geared servo. A Power HD. Make sure to set the LVC for this little ESC to 3.4v to protect your lipos. It's the 6th option. I went with 2s for reliability.
As for the rest, I'll wait for things to beak before considering any more upgrades. In the middle of glueing the tires. My glued tires always fall apart, so fingwrs crossed. 🤞

You mentioned about changing the connector of the ESC, did you use the one from the stock ESC or did you buy a compatible connector?

We removed the connector from the Hobbywing ESC and soldered in a new Traxxas male connector (TRA3070X). If you do this it's vital your solder joints are electrically and mechanically sound, if the joints are bad the wire can heat up and even catch fire so its recommended you take it to a hobby shop if your not confidant you can do it.

Did you swap the connector from the old ESC or where did you source it? Thanks.

We used a new connector to minimize the amount of solder joints. You can find them on our website, thobbies.com
