240sx Wilwood Clutch Master Cylinder Install
The clutch pedal pressure and engagement in our project 240sx has been lackluster and getting worse. Luckily we had this upgrade of a Wilwood clutch master cylinder sitting in a parts pile in the garage.

Is this the regular mochi3 ??? Or im guessing this is a special limited edition one. Needless to say, im fuckin buying thjs one lmfao
This was a limited edition version of the Mochi 2.
almost to the end! i just need to install the trans!!
Getting the automatic transmission out is the most tedious part, installation is exciting!
is there a parts list? with links mayne?
The parts for the build are currently linked in the descriptions of their respective videos where they are installed. We still plan on doing a video that will go over all the parts, costs, etc. in the future that will have the complete parts list.
Grease and bread take out the bearing quite easy
For sure! We used that method during our KA24E turbo build and it was pretty quick and easy.
Update us on the previous engine! Just watched through your whole series on the KA would love to hear what you found.
Thank you for the support by watching the entire series. It's still very much on our mind and in planning. Hope to have an update on it sooner than later..
I can’t seem to adjust the bite point with this new wilwood set up. The bite point is all the way to the floor… I knew how to on the stock one but this one as I undue the locking It just spins the whole bolt sometimes like it’s binding and the rod or shaft angle changes…
The engagement did change a little bit with our move to this Wilwood as well. We had to actually hold the clevis pin wedged in a vice to undo the nut that locks it in place, but we were able to dial it in close to how it felt originally. Make sure you have either a longer clevis pin or longer pushrod.
@@TeamBlush thank you for that info when you say a longer push rod is that something that had to be ordered with the clutch master or is it something you can add to it?
The longer pushrod you would swap from the OEM style clutch master cylinder to the Wilwood unit, if you have it. If not you would probably do best to just order a longer clevis. We'll try and find a link to the one we used here in a bit, but the threads for it are 5/16-24.
@@TeamBlush got it! All adjusted and feeling great! Thanks guys!! 😁
have you guys found out what happened to the previous engine? was it the flywheel or something else?
Yes, we completely looked over the fact we were using a 240sx flywheel on a D21 block. Such a stupid mistake after all the research we did, but at least now we know if we ever end up with another D21 block. Planning to bring attention to this when we're ready for a second go at the forged motor.
mised you guys.. good to see you back! what fittings size of the banjo?
Thanks a ton, hoping to get back into the swing of things. Got the banjo fitting listed in the description now. It is a 10mm hole to 3AN male. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.
U give up on the 240
We have not given up on the 240, no!
@@TeamBlush hell ya! Looking forward to the update
Are these pistons 89mm or 89.5mm?
These are 89.6mm pistons that the block was bored for.
Nice...
are those head studs custom order? if not do you have the part number?
You can purchase the head studs from ARP. They are part number ARP 202-4307
@@TeamBlush thanks so much, last thing i needed
The bosozoku one is better it can change colors
We agree!

You didn’t put a fuse or breaker before connecting power cable to battery..
We do not run a fuse or breaker on this setup, no.
Very risky running the power wire through the door hinge,. Better to have it go through firewall through rubber grommet
That would have been a better routing method, for sure. The main wiring harness grommet that is under the passenger side fender is pretty tight, but would have been doable and safer.
what is this for?
It is an aesthetic accessory for your vehicle. They have also been marketed as a desktop accessory for your computer.
Amazing video!
Thank you!
Can the strobes be turned off?
Yes, they can! Hold down the mute button to turn off the strobe effect.
Mine stilll in the box😅
Haha, a lot of people seem to just collect or resell them.
found this video amid doing my swap and is still so helpful. thank you for this. amazing video
Thank you, glad to hear it's still helping people out!
serious question. Why do people waste money on that? ._.
It's just a fun little knick knack for vehicle interiors, aesthetics. Possibly a little overpriced, but we don't know the cost it takes to manufacture them. A lot of people just buy them to resell and capitalize on the "hype beast" style marketing/releases of these products.
Got to all the bolts a different way. It envoles removing exhaust and deleting egr. Then jacking up the transmission like he said. Piece of cake then.
Does he always have to be plug in to work bro i got one
Yes, this version is required to be plugged in to function.
@TeamBlush i didn't know because i always see people put it on the dash and you can't see the cord but they look so cool especially this one cuz it lights up
It can be a bit deceiving, yes!
@TeamBlush well they got me good i guess now i'm officially a jdm tuner looks nice tho in my new civic hatchback
Where you guys located?

can i just block him in one slide or yk?
About 45% done...got my old transmission out tonight with the help of a friend. Best reference video out on TH-cam. Thanks man. Always need someone to do the ground work for others to follow.
Even at 45%, getting that big automatic transmission out and seeing it on the ground is such a rewarding feeling! Have fun and enjoy the car when you get it done!
This is really helpful for someone who is building one 🙏
Glad to help and god speed! Hopefully it will end better than our first attempt, haha.
Yeah. 😅 how much did the build cost in total?
We're into everything ~9k and counting. We'll probably be in over 10k once we have another go at the forged motor and have all the bugs ironed out.
@@TeamBlush Ok. Thank you 😊
W VIDEO
W COMMENT!
What type of backup alarm did you get?
It is the Projects Unlimited "12VDC Programmable Buzzer". You can find it linked in the description of the video or search for it over on Amazon.
@@TeamBlush thank you
I couldn't see the two green cables. How did you connect them? I would like to know where they are from.
In what part of the video are you referencing?
I've got a manual truck that I will trade for an automatic It's a hard body
The automatic transmission in this video has long since been sold, sorry!
Congratulations on completing your project!! Currently doing a turbo on my single cam s13. Having this series is a huge blessing. Thank you so much!
Far from done, but at least the car is running and driving, haha. Still going to attempt a second go at the forged motor once we're in a situation for it. Have fun with your project, hope it goes smoothly for you!
I'm currently doing my build. If it wasn't for your video, I would had just sold the car already. Super helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Best video 👍
Equally appreciate the kind words, glad to hear it helped you out and hope the car takes you to some great places in the future!
I have a question that long red/orange cable on top of the transmission where does it bolt on?
That is just a vent hose and it should have a bracket that bolts it to the bellhousing.
@@TeamBlush so it doesn't matter in which bolt it goes.
Nope, shouldn't matter at all.
@@TeamBlush ok thanks. Ill get it bolt on 1st thing tomorrow morning
Should the starter and two lower transmission covers be partially installed prior to installing the transmissions itself.
We only had one dust shield on our application, but the lower half dust shield can be slipped between the block and bell housing of the transmission once it's mostly in place. The starter is bolted on after the transmission is installed.
NIce vid dude! I have the same Mishimoto set up, and going to install it soon. But I wanna know, at what position did you set the dial in the relay?
We turned the dial up for a higher than normal operating temperature so that it wouldn't turn on, started the car and let it idle until the temperature gauge in the gauge cluster was just slightly above the halfway point. Once it was at that point we turned the dial back down until the fans turned on and kept the temperature gauge right around that halfway point. Pretty sure the ideal temperature you want to have a KA24E engine at is ~170-180F. Unless you have a way of measuring the temperature accurately, keeping the needle in the middle of the temperature gauge is adequate.
@@TeamBlush thanks for the reply dude! you helped me a lot
And I also want to add that this video is going to help me put on my s14 install. Thank you so much. Please keep these amazing videos coming. New subscriber 👍
Good to hear this is going to help out with more than just an s13 application! That is also a good attention to detail with the small cut to length lower portion hose for silicone replacement. May have to do that ourselves. Thanks for coming along on the journey!
Always amazing videos. I'm doing the exact same thing. I'm going to get a spare smaller section on silicone hose and cut it to length so I'm not using the old rubber section.
This is amazing, keep this video up forever!
Thanks, no plans of taking it down anytime soon!
great series thank for posting these
Thank you!
I want the light show will i get that with the clear cap
The lights are exclusive to the Bosozoku edition Mochi. A clear cap with a regular mochi will not have lighting.
@TeamBlush o can you still buy the bosozoku
You can still find them on Ebay from resellers, but the Bosozoku Mochi was a limited release and will supposedly never be made again.
@@TeamBlush cool thanks
Jeez 100$ I'll just get a normal one 😂
What is the orange line on the transmission. Looks like a breather hose, mine is missing should I be concerned
Yes, pretty sure this is a breather hose for the case to ventilate. Shouldn't be an issue if it's missing, so long as it's not plugged? Unsure if transmission fluid could potentially leak from that area without a hose or not.
Did you ever do a video showing install of the gm sensor my 240 is missing one lol
IAT wiring can be found at minute mark 2:13 in part 13 of the KA24ET series on the channel.
@@TeamBlush thanks man, I never setup mine
No problem, it should be pretty straight forward. Good luck!
Where do you suggest getting the parts for this because I want to do a manual swap on my s13 but i don’t know where to get the parts and etc.
Enjuku Racing has a tab on their website dedicated to products you may need for this manual swap. As for the driveshaft and transmission it would probably be easiest to source through Facebook Marketplace or Ebay.
@@TeamBlushalso don’t you need a clutch fork?
Yes, the one we sourced on Facebook Marketplace included one, but you will need to source it if yours did not.
@@TeamBlush thank you
No problem! Good luck when you get around to your swap.
So if I do the egr delete I need a standalone ECU
We have seen people do EGR deletes on various KA24E groups and on other videos without moving to a standalone ECU. It's probably preferable to move to a standalone to tune for the difference that comes with an EGR delete and to help with cold starts, but shouldn't be absolutely necessary. Sorry if the video suggested otherwise!
Thank you 🙏 very much
Whats that red tube you have connected to the trans? Asking cause ive never seen that before and dont want to put my trans in if its like a cooling like or something
That is not a cooling line. Pretty certain that is just a vent hose for case pressure in the transmission. It doesn't need to be hooked up to anything.
@@TeamBlush Did you not use the manual harness?
We did not use a manual transmission wiring harness, no.
Great video my guy Just a quick question, i don't have the connections for the shifter 😢, do anybody know what cables to wire in order to make it work without them? Thanks a lot my friend, excellent video
Thanks! If you search on Google "240sx manual transmission swap - NICOclub" there is a writeup on how to do the wiring bypassing a different way than we did in the video.
Hey guys awesome series just vinged it all. Any update on what may have went wrong on the forged engine?
Thanks for tuning in for all the videos! Unfortunately no update as of yet. The forged engine is just currently sitting, needing to be pulled back apart and we hope to manage the funds to jump back into a second go of that soon.
@@TeamBlush I'm preparing to do almost an identical build. As far as I can tell you did everything right so this makes me nervous lol
Good luck! As far as the bearings getting marred up, it was probably just a case of us not being as clean as we should've been when assembling everything. Looking back, the forged engine may have ran if not for the clearance issues with the starter, but after seeing the marring we just want to get everything checked out.
Maybe I missed it but what manifold/turbo are you running? What were your power or boost goals?
Rev9 Cast Turbo Manifold and an On3Performance GT35 Turbo. We're hoping to achieve a reliable 300-350hp.
Just in case this helps anyone (work done on a ‘93 KA24DE hatch): When trying to remove the transmission I was having a hard time. What ended up working for me was spacing the transmission out enough so that I could unbolt the torque converter as well. After the torque converter was unbolted, the whole transmission slid out no problem. Couple of Pros to this method: 1) no worries about spilling all the trans fluid in the torque converter 2) less overall space needed to fully separate the transmission from the engine
Good looking out, thanks for the tip. We'll be sure to keep it in mind inevitably next time we end up manual swapping an s13!
