    I have a question. i bought this monitor and wanted to ask you 2 things. 1. It came with one little dead pixel. I cant really see it while gaming. Should I return it? 2. Should I turn on Adaptive Sync and reaction to extreme. Just for info have the newest firmware. Thank you have a good one!

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which monitor? I typically recommend running pixel overdrive in the second fastest setting. It seems to always be the most reliable. As for Adaptive Sync, turn it on and enable VRR/G-Sync/FreeSync on your console or GPU. The deal pixel could potentially be a stuck pixel, try a pixel refresher to fix it. You may have already swapped it by now though.

      My biggest downside to the Acer was the price. I didn't feel like it was 30% better than the Gigabyte. I realize you said you watched everything, I posted those video for others with similar questions. Realistically, with the price of the Acer having come down, it definitely sits on par with the M28U or maybe even a slightly better option given the price at the time.
      I did think the nitro edged out the M28U, but then again, I did compare them before Gigabyte updated the firmware to allow for a better input lag and brightness.

    Hi, I am currently stuck on buying the Samsung - Odyssey G7 28" or the Gigabyte M28U. The main reason I am stuck is because I read that the M28U has 24Gbps compared to 40Gbps for the G7. Does this play a big part for the HDR aspect? Also the M28U is $500 compared to the G7 being $690. So I am also looking at that, if the 24gbps doesn't play a big part.

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate the question there. Honestly it didn't make any difference for me, but I know that it was a big reason for many to stay away from the M28U. I still think the G70 has an edge over the Gigabyte, but if you don't want to spend the extra $200, then for the M28U.

    • @trviis
      @trviis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I’ve had problems with the M28U as someone using PS5 and Xbox SX. Faults aside, it’s perfect. No backlight bleed, colours are great, response time and latency are both great.
      Unfortunately the monitor turns itself off and on randomly, sometimes as often as every 10-15 minutes. RMA’d my first one, got a replacement and it has the same issue. Looking online a lot of people have this issue with the same and different 4k 144hz monitors.
      Apparently it’s to do with the 24Gbps port and Display stream compression although this isn’t utilised on PS5 so it doesn’t explain why the problem persists on there.
      Personally I think I’ll take the step down to 1440p since the problem only seems to exist on 4k displays, but it doesn’t happen for everyone so I’d just be wary when making a purchase although you may be fine.

    • @NormaBATES007
      @NormaBATES007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trviis I don't have this issue. Did you update your monitors firmware and checked your energy settings? Like the computer put your screen and device in sleeping mode after 15 minutes or so. I allways set them on "never" setting. Also in your monitor settings itself, go to "system" , then "other settings", then "Auto Power OFF" and set to "OFF".
