    Thanks for an honest review. Being an early adopter of the GQ950-B, I have to say this is by far the best monitor I’ve ever had. Really grown to love it over the past several months. Yes it has a few short comings, and I agree the restrictions on adjusting in HDR seem ridiculous. But it shines in every other metric. So come on LG. How about a firmware update unlocking brightness and contrast during HDR.

      If LG can unlock some settings with a nice menu update! I would agree, best monitor I have tested yet! Well it technically still is, although I got my hands on some new stuff recently!

      @Ken You can adjust those settings via nvidia control panel. Only downside is those settings will stick with sdr too. If you don't mind having hdr on all the time then it's a good solution.

    Just bought one in the UK for £769. I was going to get the Neo G7 but the aggressive curve is just too much. I am looking for an OLED but a 32" OLED so there's a wait for them to appear, then a wait after the inevitable gremlins to be sorted. So I'll have this for the next two years. If the Neo G7 was a flat panel I don't think I would be looking for an OLED. I know I am going to like the LG though.

    Thanks for your review! As I upgraded my PC to a RTX 3090 (before 3060 Ti) and Ryzen 9 5900x (before 5 5600x), I still own the LG 27GN800 monitor, which was top for WQHD. Now, of course, I plan to upgrade my monitor to 4K as well.
    This LG 32GQ850-B is my favorite to go with. I watched a lot of reviews, now including yours (like and sub alone for that!) and I'm 99% sure, this will be my next monitor within the next few weeks to come.
    The LG C2 is also a great tv/monitor, but 42'' is simply too much for my deskto.
    I also kept my eye on the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7, the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ, which also get some good reviews (but also some mixed). As more I get into it, the LG seems to be the one to go for. Especially as I'm not just using it for gaming, but also a lot for daily work at the pc.
    Now I gotta check out your other videos.

      LG's color accuracy in the category is fairly unmatched for all around game/desk work. BenQ and Viewsonic are the only real competitors imo. Samsung is solid, I am using the G7 right now and it is sweet. But it is definitely not a workstation monitor, well it at least isn't as good as the LG for that purpose. The 3090 runs both well just so you know, so solid choices!

    Does anyone have a list of settings for ps5? I've been trying to get the most out of this monitor and idk if its my eyes or lack of knowledge. But I have HDR off and my black levels set to low as when its on it has a weird whitening foggy look on the screen? I've dropped the black saturation down to 30 as well but now I've gotten rid of the foggy look all the blacks are now wayyyyy too black and some menus ans screens just look wrong as the colours seem to be off.

      It does not have HDMI ARC if that is what you are asking. It does have surround sound formats through the 3.5mm headphone jack though, it seemed to help with my headphones, but I didn't test it with a soundbar.

    why are vids so different. your sample looks really nice deep blacks. then other ivds of same monitor look washed out with tons of ips glow.. how is the ips glow in person?

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  ปีที่แล้ว

      I couldn't tell you. I will say that I spend the extra time to do a full calibration of every monitor I review. I also tend to put many hours on the monitor before doing any type of video work. I tend to film a bit darker and let the room light do the work. Others may enhance the white balance or exposure of their videos.
      The IPS glows fairly minimal, I actually thought it was good for being a full array dimming panel. It's there, but not typically noticable.

    I recently discovered your channel. I like your review style. I've been watching your monitor reviews as I'm in the market to get 2 new monitors. I currently have an LG Ultrawide, but it does not lend itself to office productivity work as I've moved to a hybrid in office/remote work. I think 2 4k monitors may kill my RTX 3080 FE, so I've looking at maybe a 1440p and a 4k monitor. I like the reviews I see on the Gigabyte offerings as it seems to be a good all rounder. I do like LG, but the price. Anyway, thanks for your reviews.

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input and I definitely get your dilemma. I have finally just finished my 2 monitor setup and it took some time to figure it out. If I had to choose 2 monitors to use, keeping price in mind, I would probably lean toward the Gigabyte. I myself have the LG GQ950 and the G70A, although I would probably choose the Gigabyte for multi monitor over the Samsung. It is friendlier to second monitors. However, there are plenty of good 1440p options as well and it all really comes down to what you want to spend the money on. Higher fidelity and color accuracy (LG GQ950) or something in 1440p that will cost about half and give you good color accuracy. Hope this helps, I will surely be making more videos. So be sure to check back soon!

    • @BainCustom

      Great question honestly. I'm working on the newest Samsung right now. I think it depends more on the games you play. Of course an OLED is best for motion, black level and color accuracy. But may not be that bright...depending.
      I will have the new Samsung review up in a week or so. I have other 4k reviews up currently as well. Maybe those can help in the meantime?

      There are a few things that could cause that. Are you on console or pc? First I would make sure you are using the proper cables and most up to date cables. Then be sure you gsync or freesync is turned on. There is a ton you can do to solve the issue, but just make sure the monitor is setup/calibrated properly and that the game is also setup properly.

    • @BainCustom

      As far as brightness goes or luminosity, they are similar. However, the Acer does have more dimmable zones, it's a mini LED technology. So it's overall contrast and black level performance is probably better. However I have had issues with Acer not being quite as bright as they claim and underperforming in black level performance.

      It is accurate. It's not a "direct" full-array monitor. But the term full-array is used for even edge lit displays. But I don't think it is particularly good. Edge lit is definitely a lesser technology.

      @@BainCustom I’ve not heard that before. Full array normally means a grid spread across the display which uses direct lighting from the rear. Edge-lit displays use single lines of in-direct perimeter lighting which is quite different. It would be confusing if the industry used the same term for both.

    great review, I would suggest to make a different thumbnail though, I think that's why it's not getting many views

      It does. Did it show that on my video? Time stamp it if so, I want to take a look.

      @@BainCustom No, I didn't see it in the video. I have this same monitor. 4k 120hz is active when hdr is on. with green lettering. but I already covered the hdr, it says your tv doesn't support 4k 120hz with red text. did you know why?

    Can you set the resolution to 21:9 ultra wide mode?
    On my Neo G7, Samsung lets me do it without a problem.
