Great game, though I do wish it had certain features from 2 and 3. Also, where are nova pikkon and super 17? heck even throw in eis, maybe even general rildo. lavender and basil were going to be playable...surprisingly so was future mai, zen-oh guard...and zen-oh. 💀

Nooooo. Menu is barebones and many other things I feel like character selection, could have had more flare it. Just look at all the previous Budokai/TK games I like the combat tho

Overall I'd say sparking zero is better but it does fall flat in several areas. I love sparking zero's story mode and especially scenarios better. My 2 biggest complaints are 1. And this is gonna sound weird when it was one of the things the game brags about is the roster. It seems big but when you remove duplicates and count all the goku's, Vegeta's, etc, as 1 character then T3 and SZ both have 81 characters which when SZ added a bunch of super characters but doesn't actually have a bigger roster is a disgrace. And 2. Not registering inputs. Like when I press the supers button and it brings up the super list on screen and everything, but my character still just throws a regular punch or ki blast anyway instead of doing a super. Or when i launch a character away and want to follow up with a super but my character just keeps doing vanishing attacks.

Is Sparking Zero REALLY the superior game?

Most of these characters are fun to play if a little weak but what about characters who are simply UNFUN to play altogether? So far my least favorite character to play has been Lord Slug.

Nah, Buu's Fury was always the best of the trilogy. 2 was really good tho. 1 was rough, especially when I played and beat the 2nd one before picking up the 1st.

Loved 2 & 3. Still bothers me that the GT game dropped this setup altogether.

The combo canceling system of the Budokai series is simply unmatched. On a surface level, B-3 may appear a shallow and simple fighting game , but once you get into that rabbit hole, that's when you start appreciating the game and its technical depth.

its my first childhood dragonball game i owned myself. ultimate battle 22 and final bout were the first games i played at a friends house and i was so excited to play it back then. i was so proud of finally owning a dbz game myself and i playes a good 300 hours

never played Infinite World, but as far as everything else goes this is my favorite ever. good video man.

I remember the triceratops grind with all my characters and was so fun to see them improve in strenght… after i unlock hercule, became a hell of repetitions… best memories

Watching vids like these, not realizing when I was a kid (i grew up in a country town..) just how loved the games I had were by people in more suburban areas, it makes me realize my single mom really did buy me all the best games that came out. But I didnt realize that until 2020 nostalgia videos. Bless her, cause we were dirt poor and eating rice.

Another cool variation to the forms like Vegeta and Trunks being stronger but slower is Piccolo when he goes super namek. Piccolo gets stronger but he doesn’t really speed up, instead of speed he gains the ability to regen health constantly while in that form. Occasionally I would need to use a health item when playing as anyone else but with Piccolo I never needed it because if I lost health I would just go super namek.

It's the perfect example of the studio listening to the fans. Everyone called out the flaws in the first legacy of goku, and they responded with the sequel.

This game and Buu's Fury were my introduction to Cell arc and Buu's arc at that time because my parents didn't let me watch DBZ, every story reveal was massive revelation for me. Like Goku throwing the fight and asking Gohan to fight Cell.

Master roshi is actually one of the best characters. I watch a lot of online plays and a lot of ppl use him. He’s more spammy but a lot of ppl start with him in max for the extra health , then transform him down. He has the fastest ki charge which is why he’s more spammy. You can knock the enemy away and hit sparking before them And just go to town. Also I think bean daddy did get nerfed. A lot of ppl were complaining about him being used for time out wins.

The fact that Yajirobe is weaker than Yamcha in canon yet Yajirobe got nerfed is wild.

Goku never had to die during the Cell saga if Yajirobe had just used his deadly rock throw attacks against him

I miss Videl's Great Saiyaman 2 form from the other Tenkaichi games, that's what made her fun to play as for me. Now she's way too sluggish for my liking.

As a budokai 3 truther im here to tell y’all that infinite world is the real best budokai game

the best detail in budokai 3 was that fusions kan miss or have to be done right. and gogeta was limited by time/energy and was not an perma fuse

The why is simple: it does the very rare thing in DBZ games in actually giving you a sense of power differences and scaling, which is HUGE in Dragonball. Having those RPG elements and letting you train and get stronger and curb-stomp enemies who were tough before is what Dragonball is all about;: rising to the next level, getting better over time. So many games just give you the characters and you can fight Frieza as f'ing Yamcha and WIN, which is obscene unless, of course, you find a way to justify it like he went through some crazy training and got stronger. In Budokai 3, a high level Vegeta will HUMILIATE a low-level Goku - and your work you put in MAKING him stronger feels justified. That, and you can fly around, collect dragonballs, use capsules, all of it, and unlike the newest game they don't entirely skimp on the story beats. Dragonball games, to be good, NEED power progression and scaling and free flight, all of that.
