Hey Everyone, Just wanted to say I truly hope you all enjoy the video! Make sure to let me know your thoughts, if you agree with my takes, and what you would like to see next. If this video goes well I would love to wrap up the adventure era with a heroes retrospective in the near future!
I remember playing the same stages over and over on Dreamcast as a kid. Playing the full game on GC when I was a bit older, the mech stages felt so repetitive and slow. I really wish they focused more on the quality of level design and cool set pieces rather than trying to diversify and pad out the game. You can tell the first stages of both adventure games just feel a bit more polished due to them being shown at demo kiosks and trade shows to sell the game.
Yeah I have to agree with you. The first stage, city escape, is very well designed. I actually love it. The following few felt like I was playing them just to get to the good stuff. Not that I disliked them but the sonic/shadow levels were well beyond superior. Interesting point you brought up in regard to the first levels, I wouldn’t have thought of that but you’re probably right. Regardless, I thought it was a good time
Yay it’s finally here. Starting review with pumpkin hill. A+. I definitely think big part of this nostalgia and ranking is the story. Personally I like sa1 lil better but that’s probably because I love the lil dialogue changes and chaos is probably my favorite straight villain though metal sonic close. Personally like sa1 levels better but when they do levels right they definitely go hard. I think city escape and emerald cost are tied for my favorite tbh. I think playing them back to back definitely didn’t help in few flaws sa2 has but I think if they did remake and fixed radar and made mechs handle or like E-102 different be a lot closer for me. Also love sa1 spin dash back but that probably break lol game. Good review and side note I forgot about air necklace my last play through and shocking didn’t die. I remembered dying like crazy there as a kid.
Thank you bro! For sure, the story feels a bit more serious and important than some other games. You can’t beat city escape for its design but Final Rush ,I’ll stick by being my favorite in the game. It’s one I feel like I can go back to for hours to master all the tricks/skips you can do - Definitely was close though. And I couldn’t imagine playing the stage w/o the air neckless. I had to restart Cannons Core bc it was too stressful lol

Killer video!
While this is a good game it's inferior to Adventure 1 nobody will tell me otherwise
Final Chase is NOT an amazing stage and Biolizard is one of the worst bosses in the game
