Liar! F-zero x doesn't work flawlessly on the switch. It has significant framerate issues!
That's interesting, I've put several hours into the game and never seen any framerate issues whatsoever. Thank you for sharing your perspective though.
Why is your Redout 2 chapter marker called Red Dead 2?
Because it's made automatically by TH-cam that sometimes get a few things wrong :)
And merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks a lot! Same to you :)
Hey, I'm currently in New Jersey with family and I missed the steam. Great flying btw. Aero GPX is the almost ideal successor to F-zero X in my book. The feel of the machines, music, and looks just brings me back to the good old days.
Thank you for your kind words! I think I sort of got the hang of some the important mechanics of the game during the stream :) And I agree with everything you said about Aero GPX. It feels a lot like F-Zero at the same time as the game has it distinct own style and the gameplay is very polished as well.
Thank you everybody for joining the stream and for the super chats! Make sure to check out Aero GPX on Steam if you like what you saw. Also, here's the link to my own Discord server that was mentioned multiple times during the stream: discord.gg/zEy5JU5dYt
1:26 game in early access since 2018 💀
Yes, I guess it's stuck in "Early Access Hell" :) Thank you for checking out the video!
@AGRacingCentral you're welcome! I'm a new subscriber as well. Love AG
Just a quick question, Erik 🙋♂️: Which one of these showcased games in your video, do you personally like the most?
That is such a hard question for me to answer (and also the reason I almost never make top list videos...) as all the games are quite different and I like them all for what they are. I would however say the the most underrated one is ArcRacer. It has a brilliant control scheme and physics and definitely deserves more attention.
Ballistic NG is awesome on the Deck. And the Deck can indeed handle it on 120 fps, a lot more even, close to 200, and if I remember correctly, if the settings are not set too high, even the splitscreen can handle 120! The small issue however, is that the base Steam deck display is only 60hz, so you can't see those extra frames! Also, one thing that I'm a bit dissapointed about, as comfortable as the Decks D-pad is, I didn't find it too good to play Ballistic NG on. It's really easy to accidentally press down one direction, which in turn leads to me trying to balance thr D-pad out, which leads to the ship being harder to control.
Thanks a lot for your insight! I had read that the Steam Deck can run at max 60 Hz but that might not be the case if you plug the machine into a monitor. Or are you referring to the newer LCD Steam Decks?
Nope, all of them can! Every Steam Deck model has a 60hz display, yet all of them can run it that well! Sorry for the "uhm, acthually..." kind of comment!
Great review! I grew up always having an interest in the Wipeout series, but I never checked them out more than the demos. A few years ago, I got Fast RMX for Nintendo Switch and it's an awesomely fast paced racer too, with the unique element to where you gotta switch colors of your machine depending on what boost lines come up etc. Highly recommend that game too! I def should get the omega collection, since I recently got a ps4 pro and the game sells for around 10-15 euros physical. Don't know what I'm waiting for tbh lol!
Thanks a lot for your comment! The game is incredibly fun indeed. I've played Fast RMX quite a bit myself but as far as anti gravity racing games goes, it's quite different from Wipeout. I don't think Wipeout Omega Collection will disappoint you though, it's still worth playing even if the video you commented on is almost 2 years old :)
Thank you for the stream!
No worries, thanks a lot for stopping by!
in my opinion... This is the best time trial game EVER... for me at least. I have over 1K hours on this game (just in time trials alone) on steam since i downloaded it in 2018. Lot's of great tracks to master in full speed, Also Zen mode is my shit.
I think I see what you mean. I haven't gotten to that level of gameplay myself but I can imagine it being a great feeling to know all tracks by heart and be able to take them on at super sonic speeds. Thank you for checking out the video!
Looks great!
Glad you liked the games, thank you for checking out the video!
Antigravity Racing, the second game, is a unity asset flip, FYI
I had no idea what an "asset flip" was until I saw it in your comment. Seem to be a bit of a controversial topic to say the least :)
Yes i want a new one too
Yes, don't we all? :)
I remember playing the original SkyDrift on Xbox 360. This looks to be a remastered version of that. Maybe this time around it lets the player play all tracks individually in Time Attack? The original had no free play / arcade mode to speak of, only career events that had specific modes for specific tracks. Nice selection of aircraft but I remember it being largely imbalanced.
That's cool, I had no idea Skydrift Infinity was a remaster. I have put a couple of hours into the game but not enough to determine any imbalances. Thanks a lot for checking out the video!
Some info regarding the games in this video: Radial G has Online PvP Skydirft Infinity has some planes based on the ''Darksiders'' Series (Not to be confused with DARKSOULS) and Online Multiplayer ArcRacer is verified for SteamDeck XF Extreme Formula has shared split screen and co-op (Or so the Steam page says) But no online (Perhaps soon?) Aero GPX is basically modern F-zero with a few extra bits and has an amazing community with the dev often updating on development Star Racer has a track editor! Deathgrip is still worked on as well
Some of the points were known to me but definitely not all of them so thanks alot for your comment! I actually regret post-production that I didn't mention Star Racers track editor, that one's quite brilliant. And I'm also very excited for the full release (or perhaps early access) of Deathgrip. If the game does well, a console edition is apparently on the table as well.
Oh you finally played Radial-G: Racing Revolved, good summary!, it's actually a nice little game, the music was quite good to hear in the races. Also never heard of Arc Racer but if doesn't ask too much specs, I'm going to check if my PC can run it.
You really should! I think ArcRacer is hidden gem for sure. And I agree, Radial-G is a really cool game, I'm glad Nitroboost talked me into including it in one of my videos.
Really surprised to see Skydrift Infinity here. I like that game a lot, especially since aerial racing games aren't common.
I guess it is technically an anti gravity racing game :) I also like it a lot so I wanted to showcase it, partly also because air plane racing games are so uncommon (like you said yourself). Thanks a lot for checking out the video, I hope everything is going well with your channel.
Perfect summary of Radial-G! Hopefully it'll bring the game to more people's attention!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you thought I did the game justice. And thanks to you for recording the gameplay and allowing me to use it.
Mano seriously need a new pc... Or maybe a gaming handheld like a steam deck or something, because i seriously need to play some of these!!!
A Steam Deck work fine for many PC exclusive AG racers but two of the games shown at the end (XF Extreme Formula and Deathgrip) does NOT run well! For those you need, perhaps not a brand new, but at least a relatively powerful gaming PC.
I hope you found out about at least one anti gravity racing game you didn't know about. If you have played any of the games in the video, feel to leave your thoughts about them in a comment. Thank you for watching!
Im the creator of the track with the falling boulders.. that was fun to watch you guys race it
Wow, how cool is that? :) The track was super fun! I have to ask, did you intentionally make it look like a penis or was it just our imagination..? :)
@AGRacingCentral I did not 🤣 when I heard you guys say it I can see why but this wasn't the goal
Please all do this will for ever be known to us that have played and built tracks the best game no one ever played
Thank you for your comment! Are you implying that no one played Hot Wheels Unleashed 2? I think it's quite popular :)
Trust me when i say this its not it picked up do to it being free on psn. Before it was pretty dead. But the main issue with us Racers was that the lobby in UNLEASHED 2 are way more different than they were on unleashed 1 before you would join a lobbie and watch the race as it progressed and you got to meet these crazy racers. And learn from those races. Im still thankful fornall the people that joined thanks to it beong free and got to enjoy what me and my friends enjoy everyday. You're welcome to join us. we have some of the ogs that built and designed some of the crazy car designs and tracks
This game is so fun 😊
It sure is! It really shows that gameplay is much more important than graphics even though BNG of course makes a thing out of looking like a PS1-era Wipeout game.
I'm going to be crucified for this, but Redout2 is better than Wipeout. This is coming from a lifelong Wipeout fan. Started with the first Wipeout on PS1 and played them all. Downloaded Redout2 a month ago and it's a Wipeout ripoff /clone done better than any Wipeout. But who are kidding, we are all riding on F-Zero GXs coat tales as it was antigravity racing perfected.
Not at all you are more than welcome to express your opinion! However, I think Redout 2 differs quite a bit from Wipeout, at least as far as AG racing games goes, to not be called a clone, even though the game probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Wipeout of course. In extension, this also means that some players may well prefer one franchise over the other. I've actually only played F-Zero GX a little bit but I've only heard good things. However, I also think that the F-Zero style of gameplay is on a completely different end of the spectrum compared to Wipeout and Redout falls somewhere in the middle :)
This game isn't an AG racer but it's a lot of fun. I loved the first one, hopefully I can grab this sequel on sale in the future with people still playing it
You really should and the game is on sale quite often. It seems to be a game where people are sticking around as well, we found full lobbies within seconds.
God I want this game so badly..
It's on sale quite often and available on all platforms so it should be no problem finding it for a reasonable price somewhere :)
Thank you @Neilium23 for playing with me! If you would like to take part in future events, feel free to join my Discord server by following the link in the video description and let us know your thoughts on Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 in a comment. Thank you for watching!
Man, I need to be there next time
Sure thing, you are more than welcome :)
Super cool game! :D I hope you bought the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition from steam before it will be removed forever.
Unfortunately I didn't. Not sure how well it would have run on a Steam Deck though. However, thanks for letting me know, I've regretted more than once not buying a game before it was delisted.
Had an absolute blast playing tbis my dude, we need to do it again some time! 😂
For sure, thanks again for joining the session! Super fun to "meet" you in person :)
31:22 ur english is fine man, good to see another good stream!
Thanks a lot, good to hear :) And thank you for checking out the stream!
Thank you for the stream! Super unlucky Sol 2 Race ☹️
Thanks a lot for hanging out as always. Yup, that was a bit unfortunate but it's what happens. There is always the next stream! :D
this game is so peek i wish it was not 40 bucks my friend and me play it occasionally but there is so much aggression with two people
Glad you also like Pacer! I also find it very puzzling that the game is not on sale ever on any platform.
I'm a Feisar fan, but found the assegai & mirage ships to be pretty good
I can understand why, both of those teams have really agile ships. Thanks a lot for checking out the video!
This strongly reminds me of Trackmania, and i didn't like Trackmania when i played it, but the appeal is obviously there, and I hope this game gets more exposure
I saw a couple of other commenters making comparisons with Trackmania, a game I hadn't tried when I made this video. I have now however, and I can definitely see the similarities in the concept as a whole for both games. When it comes to the visual style, not so much :)
It may be worth checking out the original Redout (2016) as the recommended specs are met.
Thanks a lot for your comment. Unfortunately, it was a bit late since the computer is now sold and I do all "PC"-gaming on a Steam Deck now :) I have no idea how Redout 1 will run on that platform but it might be worth checking out!
Finally someone asking the right questions!
It's indeed important! It's actually quite hard to know which games with the "unknown" status run well on the deck until someone uploads some gameplay of it.
Great video as always, hoping 2025 brings more ag racers to compare
I hope so too, thanks a lot for your comment!
Gonna leave a cautious shout-out to Break Arts 2, a really interesting AG racer that’s also an incredibly detailed mecha builder. According to reviews the game itself runs great on Steam Deck, but the lack of controller support in menus and customization will likely be a deal breaker for most. Hopefully this is addressed when Break Arts 3 releases, along with some of the game’s other shortcomings.
I never thought there'd be no one else who brings up Break Arts 2.
It makes perfect sense that you had heard about it though :)
Thanks a lot for your comment and for the tip. That game looked super slick and the customization looked really comprehensive. I added it to my list of games to keep an eye on.
Brilliant video, I have been wantkng to try Aero XGP, I also had a suggestion for an old ps2 game review, it was called "Jet Ion GP", it would be interesting to see you personal review of it!
Thanks a lot! I had honestly never heard about that game but I checked out a video and it looked really cool! I added it to my list of games to keep an eye on, thanks for the tip!
@AGRacingCentral no worries, I have a disc of it lying around... Somewhere....
I am running BallisticNG on the Steam Deck. I am also running Wipeout, wipeout 2097, wipeout 64, wipeout 3, wipeout fusion, Wipeout Pulse, and wipeout Pure using EmuDeck. All of them run quite well on the steam deck =) I have gotten Wipeout HD to run on the deck also but performance is a little inconsistent. I wish there was a good Vita emulator so I could run Wipeout 2048 on the Deck.
I'm sure there are lot of emulated versions of older games that run well on the Steam Deck, a topic worthy of its own video. Wipeout 2048 is certainly worth playing but the version in Omega Collection is far superior from a technical perspective. Not so portable though :)
@@AGRacingCentral Yeah I don't have a console capable of running Omega Collection. I've been wanting to try it for years.
Awesome stream! - perfect for me atm as I‘m in a Redout 2 career grind 🤣…
Thanks a lot! And there is truly a lot of grinding to do in that career mode, it has to be one of the lengthiest racing game campaigns out there.
Great video! You'll quickly start to notice the deck verification mark means very little, and is often not at all a good tell for whether a game will run well. I've had verified games with all sorts of problems, crashes on startup, glitched audio, and just yesterday one of my verified games just randomly locked to 11fps in the middle of gameplay with no way to reverse it. And I've also had "unplayable" games run perfectly fine more than once. One last tip, if you want to get a better view of how your games are running numbers wise the performance filter in the deck's menu views fps, frame times, gpu and cpu load and more. Helps a lot with optimising settings!
Thanks a lot for your input. I've seen people use that filter in videos on TH-cam, sounds like a great idea to do it myself in the future in these types of videos :)
