This is dumb, people like you critique this game based on certain moments where you're forced to use guns, and then decided to rather play the whole game like that and yet in your "correction" you then play the game how you could've( with melee) had you not decided to play it in the easiest way. If everyone continues to just judge DMC2 based on opinions formed by(God knows whom) then it'll always be considered a "bad" game. DMC4 is far worse in every sense except for mechanically. Dmc 1,3 and 5 are goofy in moderation where as Dante is portrayed as a clown in the entirety of dmc4 and Nero is so underdeveloped as a character.

DMC2's only welcome changes from 1 were the more stylish ways to use your guns and the trickster abilities. Fixing DMC2 was basically making DMC3. Narratively it doesn't do anything and is completely inconsequential to the overarching story of the series. Strongly I loved it when it came out, I was only like 14 or 15 when it came out, so I was pretty enamored by the ability to run on walls and shoot guns upside down in the air. But as a 35 year old man, I can't stomach the game at all. But DMC is my favorite series of all time, I say this while having a replica Rebellion sitting 4 feet away from me to my left lit up with red led lights that I set up behind it.

Well dmc poc is driven to monetization this is so dissapointing.

Despite its faults, I still love DMC 2. Definitely have the original trilogy hard-baked into the nostalgia-center of my brain. Now, I have a reason to *really* enjoy this game as an adult, outside of aesthetic choices 😂

I love it! Its a mixture of favorite moves sets in a character. I love the multiple character selection and their specific style of combat. Its easy to play, and easy to play for freee!!! the worst thing about this game is, nothing new. Thats it. App/ mobile games are always for profit. So expact pay walls. This game is an amazing nostalgic pleasure.

Dmc 2 is still a good game

I gotta be honest I am sick and tired of people glazing DMC1 and then shitting on 2. Every problem you can come up with in regards to DMC2 was already a problem in 1. Even guns being overpowered. Everyone just forgets that the grenade launcher exists, and completely trivializes the entire rest of the game. DMC1's story and voice acting and characters are also terribly executed and none existent. What people never bring up is that EVERY SINGLE MECHANIC this series would become known for and iconic from, was first introduced in DMC2. Every single one. Yeah, the game isn't very good. But it's not like DMC1 was anything special either, and at least 2 laid the groundwork for the ENTIRE FRANCHISE going forward. I'm convinced none of these people ever actually played DMC1 or 2. 90% of these supposed "DMC Fans" have probably only ever played 3 and 5, and it shows.

I just finished all 3 games and I don't understand the hate for DMC2. gameplay wise third is the best. But story is way too cringy, they made Dante look like immature 14 year old. "Hahaha look at me I dodge your attack and now I'm flossin, hahaha skibbidy toilet, I'm such a rizzler, demon from Ohio!" That's what he would sound like If he was made in 2024...

The best DMC-like mobile game currently now is Punishing Gray Raven. Others would be Wuthering Waves, ZZZ, and HI3rd.

Hey if you want another game for this series i recommend Castlevania: Circle of the Moon played with ''auto-sprint'' and the ''card mode'' mod, it really transform that game ands lets you freely experiment with the card combination system its some of the best castlevania fun ive had in a while since its just in the middle of being a classic arcadey castlevania and a metroidvania so it occupies a really cool space in the franchise, also the music is so goood

I've always found Insomniac games to be well put together 7/10 experiences. Not shit and always well produced with nothing to label as flawed as such but not monumentally great either in any aspect except good humor and voice work from the R&C series. Their games are not examples of something that must absolutely be played but you can still moderately enjoy them

I like the tone and atmosphere but I think everyone hyping this up as a masterpiece needs to take a seat and think about it for more than five seconds. The story is okay, but is riddled with cliches. Of course the gameplay is solid because it’s halo 3 extended. But you’re not much in danger than you were as master chief or noble team. Hell you’re even stronger than halo 2 Chief. I’ll admit the vehicle sections and banshee sections were awesome, but aside from that, it’s pretty meh. I was mostly disappointed the stealth mechanics weren’t fleshed out in the slightest. I have nostalgia for it a little, but the older I get, the roses tinted glasses show more cracks

An idea for another video in the series could be the Kingdom Hearts Re:Fined mod! It actually works with multiple games. It might help the most with the first game since it's kind of the clunkiest. Oh also Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days Melon Mix might make a good video! I think Kingdom Hearts 3 has some overhaul mods too!

What if the game was modded to give Dante Trish's/DMC 1's moveset, and have enemies be more aggressive like in hard mode, and give them more health? Seems like that would go a long way to making the game a lot more fun!

As bad as DMC2 is, its still holds some love to me since it was my introduction to the series and possibly my favorite design for Dante

I remember playing DMC2 when it first came out. It definitely was a significant downgrade but I can’t say it was the worst PS2 game I’ve ever played. That being said, I see no reason anyone should ever play it again

DMC 2 gets a lot of flak (Rightfully so) But I do like how it introduced a few things that became main stays .Twosome time, Multiple characters, bloody palace, Sin DT

Got this in my feed, didnt realize the video was almost a year old. Either way, maybe its cause im a DMC2 glazer. But i find comparisons to 4 with trish and saying guns are too OP in 2 are… dissonant Either figuring out the rhythm to tap Square/Circle or X/Square OR mapping guns to down on the right stick in DMC1 will handily prove that 1 maintains the most broken iteration of Ebony & Ivory. Trish in 4 is also just Dante locked to swordmaster with a gimmick to access remixed Gilgamesh combos. I like DMC4SE enough to have platted it and i’ve even got a rather poorly done DMD sanctus fight video on my channel. But im not gonna sit here and pretend that the special editions of 3/4/5 aren’t… lazy. Not even 5’s boosted budget could save it from the pitfalls of 3/4’s special edition releases. 2 has problems, yeah. The game needs… A LOT of help. But its only about guns as much as you want it to be, theres a handful of combo MADs that prove the combat works if even mildly try.

I jusf played through the game this week. Dmc is my favorite franchise of all time, but I could never muscle through an hour of 2. I finally persevered, though. Final playtime 2.5 hours. The entire game. 2.5 hours.

I knew at 19 or 20 years old this game was not going to be good. But it was going to be interesting.
