    How do you leave it in for 15 minutes? Like... do you use clips or a showercap to keep the hair up while out of the shower? Doesn't the hair dry up? Or do you just stay in the shower for 15 mins? I'm so confused. I have purple fading hair and I want to restore/keep the purple so I want to leave it on as long as I can, but I'm just confused about how you keep it in that long and be able to do other stuff. Do you leave the purple conditioner for that long too? I have both this shampoo and conditioner.

      Thank you for your comment it really keeps us motivated. I would say the client is level 7 at the darkest areas in the nape of her neck with 60% white hair and front and top section 90% white. As she has so much white the blend really works well. The darker areas cover with a more gold result and a harsher line when growing out. But the top section grows out more natural. I suggested 0/00 to make the colours lighter. It’s your choice on what shade you prefer and how light/dark you want your caramel. We all interpret colour so differently. 06/73 and 09/73 would be a good mix but that’s my take on what I like my caramels to look like.

    • @hairupideas

      Ok maybe switch out the 9/1 as it’s ash. Formulas that would be warmer 9/0 + 9/7 equal parts and 1:1 ratio with 4% developer 45 mins natural development time. 9/0 + 8/7 if you want it a little darker If you want to be lots warmer a few more options below 9/0 + 9/3 9/0 + 9/73 99/0 + 9/7 9/0 + 9/17 Those a some of my favourite mixtures.Just an extra thought if you don’t add lighter and darker tones to your hair then it will just look one flat colour. So maybe think about adding some darker section level 7 and lighter level 10. This will add dimension and texture to a flat colour. Add a few foils to see the results Hope that helps. 💜

      I wouldn’t use this combo or product as it will shift your roots depending on level. I’m an 8 so therefore it blends to my hair. I would opt for shinefininty as it’s a no lift glaze. Match your colour to as close to your natural colour at the root.

    The same development time for Illumina? With pastel developer for grey blending

    • @hairupideas
      @hairupideas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve never used illumina but these are the guidelines I would follow if toning. ILLUMINA COLOUR mixing ratio of 1:1 (1 part ILLUMINA Colour, 1 part Welloxon Perfect Pastel) If you want slightly more coverage but then I would use 4% Welloxon developer. Hope that helps 🩶 I really need to explore Wella illumina much more

      @@hairupideasai am totally self taught colouring grey roots at home - I tried several other colours, including Koleston, and much prefer Illumina - its blue violet based and works best for my naturally 7/8 base that pulls orangey. I mix 10/69 with a bit of 8.38 and a tiny dash of 7.81 for a neutral 9 on my base colour and it works well

      I can’t say as I don’t know the amount of root colour you are doing ? It can very on 4 week to 8 week growth. Just mix and amount with the above a ratio and then you can always mix more if needed. I always start with 40g for a root touch up. 20g of each colour and 40 g of developer. Please be aware this is root touch up service not a full head colour

    Hello !!! Nice video and color! I need help. Which color should I add to 9.0 or 99.0 on 75 % percent gray coverage and a regular but a bit over processed texture gray hair, Where natural 25% of hair is medium brown. I would like to get blonde with no yellow and crazy orange chicken tones , no green tones , but i would like the effect with slight pinkish warm hue but not exactly a strawberry blonde. Level 9 rose gold if you will however more light natural blonde than pink. However full coverage of 9 level blonde on all head too. Short bob hair.thank you for your professional advice:)

      Hi without the client in my chair I can’t say what colour would be best for you to use. 99/0 is for resistant hair so maybe assess if this colour is suitable. A possible soloition to eliminating yellow tones is to do some baby lights on darker areas to lift to a level 9/10. Then you can do root colour of choice and after tone with strawberry blonde. Take a look at Wella shinefinity 🍑

    I am planning on using 9/01 and 8/81, equal parts with 1.9% developer to blend greys. I am prob 65% grey at the front and more darker at the back, level 6.

    • @hairupideas
      @hairupideas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This won’t blend a level 6 as your base is to dark. This client was a level 8 so therefore the colour touch I chose was as close to nautral as possible. You will get a shift in base at your darker back section if you use this formula .

      Hi, I did this today and it covered really well, with no warmth that I can see. I changed the above slightly. I used colour touch 9/86 20g, 8/81 20g and 9/01 50g to 40g 6 vol developer and 140g 13 vol developer (slightly more colour than developer, ratio normally 1:2). Applied to dry hair with plastic cap over for 30 mins. As I say I have a large amount of grey now and was full head bleaching previously. So I applied to the roots only and it has blended really well with the previously bleached hair. The white bits are really quite light while my remaining natural is a darker looking blonde, but this looks quite natural. So glad you posted this video as I have been looking for an alternative to bleach (because of breakage) for a while and I knew as I had alot of grey if I could cover/ blend it with blonde it would be alot less harsh on my hair. My thinking was that bleach strips the pigment from hair and the white hair in the grey has also lost its pigment, so a toner should work the same for both scenarios (it is just having some natural still that complicates things slightly). BTW my natural might have been more of a 7 than a level 6, hard to know as I am so grey now and have been bleaching it for so many years! Thank you again 😊

      @@cf2753 great news 🏆 sounds like you have found a great combination of colour. I will definitely note that formula down and possibly try it on my own hair. I am similar to you I’ve been having bleach hilights for years and now have 50% white hair predominately at the front. I’m a base 8. I probably colour touch every 3 times and then do a set of really fine highlights and tone on 4th session. Love that we can all learn from each other 💯🌟

    • @cf2753
      @cf2753 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes defo!! that is my plan touch up the roots then add some slices of blonde to the hair every so often to brighten things up (mainly around the face). I will see how using the demi fades, if it fades too quickly I may decide to go permanent and use Wella Koleston in a level 9. I feel there are lots of people out there with salt and pepper hair and don't want to go darker but use their salt as natural highlights but there doesn't seem much content on TH-cam out there (except yours which is amazing). Grey blending seems to be a big thing at the moment on Instagram (from what I have seen mainly using bleach for babylights) but some hairdressers are over complicating it and charging lots in the process. For me if I can cover/blend grey with colour rather than bleach, this is so much more preferred. As you say by sharing different formulas is a great way of finding something that works. BTW just a thought, I am not sure if you have considered this but I think if you put "grey blending" or for your other permanent colour videos "grey coverage" in the title, I am sure this would help more people find your great content easier. IIt would fab if something as seen as abit of an annoyance to some (salt and pepper hair) could be the foundation for creating amazing hair 😊

      @cf2753 Thank you for such kind words and totally motivating 😀 I film lots of hair videos but most don’t make the channel as that just don’t translate on to film very well as relents are so subtle. Like you say salt pepper blending and grey blending are definitely on people minds a lot more. I will definitely start using these on my videos 💯 thank you so much for your support.

      No I didn’t bleach or lighten. The hair has been previously coloured using 8/ range but client didn’t like the harsh regrowth line. Therefore we opted for a lighter colour to blend white hair. This resulted in a softer look at the roots in between salon visits.
