A Look At All The SIG P365 Models and Why I Got The P365 XL.
In this video, we'll take a look at why I picked the SIG SAUER P365XL as my new edc over all the other P365 models. First, we'll look at the history of SIG and how it went from a wagon factory to a worldwide arms manufacturer. We'll also cover the CURRENT most prevalent variants of the P365 (and boy there are A LOT!) and see what the differences are between variants. As we go over why I picked the P365XL as my new carry gun, we'll unbox the gun and talk about its features and specs. I'll compare the XL to the "Original" and then take the XL out to the range to see how it shoots. (SPOILER ALERT: It shoots GREAT!)
Also, we'll look at some of the modularity aspects of this gun and see that you really can create your custom P365. As a side note, I got this gun to put optics on it and we will do this on a follow up video so this video doesn't hit 1 hour.
Thanks and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Magazine disconnect instantly disqualifies that gun for consideration. Backwards safety is even worse. This feature is dangerous as it is the opposite of almost all other guns. These features disqualify the gun.

    This gun is on sale for 700 bucks today at Palmetto State Armory. Was really wanting one but after comments in forums and watching your video I will just stick with my Ruger gp100 match. I did have to send it to Ruger right away because the barrel was canted.I took it home anyway from my ffl because I got a killer deal(700 new).Ruger rebuilt the gun;new barrel,new hammer,new plunger.It came back beautiful but how it passed qc before I got it I will never know. ..Sucks you have to send your 686 plus deluxe back but revolvers seem to be hit or miss these days. Bought a S&W 340 pd(no key hole)and after the first 11 rounds of .357 it jammed.Jammed again on round 14 (1000 dollar gun,but that means nothing)so its got to go back to S&W...hope thier customer service is as good as Rugers. I also picked up a S&W shield plus and it has to go back because the trigger hinge pin is not all the way in. Meanwhile,out of all my AR builds,Ive only had to send back one out of spec lower..Revolvers are not made like they used to be... :(

      @@daaacoach8441 Im holding off,only because I have 2 guns to go back to S&W already lol,and I've never held this model in person. I like the older S&W revolvers a lot more than the newer ones. Only reason I know anything about revolvers is I have older friends that have huge revolver collections but they will be passed down to their kids. I've always carried a j-frame for backup,plus I can shoot it while still in the pocket if I have to( I train to do this very carefully),but I own mainly semi automatic pistols and I love building AR's in various calibers. Good luck with your decision.

    I have an 856 Defender 3", stainless and black, w/G10 grips. I also have a black 856B2UL (2") w/a neoprene Hogue Monogrip. I gave my younger daughter a black 856B2 (2") steel w/a Hogue Monogrip and my grandson a stainless 856SS2UL UltraLite w/the stock grip. I put Galloway Precision spring kits in all 4 revolvers, and the trigger pulls are vastly improved. Due to sciatica, I'm currently pocket carrying a S&W Model 642-1 (1⅞") and a stainless 85S2UL (2") in my front pants pockets since I can't abide anything pressing on my hip. I can pocket carry the 856B2UL in place of either of my current carries, but the Hogue grip makes it less convenient. I've had nothing but good luck with my Taurus revolvers AND semiautomatics (2ea G3s and 1ea G2C). My normal EDC is a SIG P365X w/a Holosun EDCCARRY dot sight, 2 spare magazines, and Streamlight TLR-7SUB OWB with the 642-1 & a Speed Strip in my off-side pocket. Sciatica sucks.

    The newer S&W autos have a little yellow/green lever inside the receiver to disconnect the sear, so you don't have to pull the trigger to remove the slide. (Thanks, Sig) Inserting a mag resets it. They don't want you to shoot .40 S&W in a 10 mm because the .40 cartridge headspaces off the extractor instead of the cartridge mouth.

    • @DaGunGuy

      I don’t really remember the distance at this point, but I do know I barely ever shoot single-handed. So I am 99% sure I used both hands when shooting this gun. The distance probably ranged from short side being 7 yards to 20 yards.

    I've had one of these since 2019 and have only had one failure and that was a stovepipe when my daughter-in-law was shooting it. Just to note some of the differences between your gun and mine is that the magazine is not nearly that loose, and my trigger pull is much firmer. I double checked several older reviews and the double action pull was reading about 9+ lbs with the single action pull at just under 5 lbs. This makes me think that your hammer spring is a quite a bit lighter than most. Also @RonV535 commented about the out of battery issue. At the 18:32 point in your video is the clearest view of the slide jumping into battery as the gun mis-fires then it was able to fire on the next pull. I think this in the case in all the other mis-fires. Another Gun-tuber who was testing target ammo came across some Magtech ammo (rounds that I have shot frequently with no issues) that created a similar issue. Hhis box had rounds that measured just out of specs, in fact some cases were slightly oval. Hopefully this is the case and not a bad chamber or other problems. I guess that the magazine fitment could create this problem too. I also checked the sights on my gun and they stick to a magnet so they are steel of some new plastic that is magnetic. Anyhow I love my gun and to answer you question about the quality of new guns, I think the quality of everything has been slipping for some time.

  • @da4944
    @da4944 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    At 17:17 you do not have to pull the trigger to disassemble the pistol. Lock it open, pivot the takedown lever, reach into the port with your finger or a pen and gently push the ejector down about 45 degrees until it clicks to disengage the striker, then remove the slide. This is similar to the Shield that has a yellow wire that you push down to disengage the striker.

    I've had the 45/22 target for several 6and probably have 10k rounds through it. Rifling still looks new and have only had 5 or 6 misfires all from Winchester ammo. As far As accuracy I average 97 out of 100 on a 4 inch target 100 yards out regardless of the northern Arizona winds. Its more consistent than any pistol or rifle i own and except for Winchester ammo doesn't care what it uses. Ive had problem with Winchester ammo in all my calibers including my 30-30 Winchester lever guns. Good review but i think your dates are off the standard eas only produced 1 or 2 years before the mark 1 came out
