I purchased the gun.Put a Holosun red dot on it.Apparently, I used the correct screws.Because I haven't had a single issue after five hundred rounds. I also put new springs in it, and it cut the trigger weight almost in half. I love it.
I have a Cyelee Cat G-Pro mounted direct to mine. Well over a case of mixed FMJ/JHP/115gr/124gr through it without any issues. It’s been a fantastic firearm. Thanks for your video sir.
Optics ready is what this is all about for those of us that are old and cannot see the way we used to. Having a short reset trigger and really light crisp amazing trigger pull can be purchased ready to go for 1500 bucks with a sig 229 pro or One can just buy this CZ, put the full pro kit in it with the short reset trigger sear & spring set, Polish the feed ramps and use only the correct magazines and you’re good to go. Or you can go with A heavier full metal frame cz 75 and pay the big bucks to get the slide milled so that you can mount your optic. I would hate to miss out on having a short reset trigger which is why I sprung for the better kit which includes more than just springs. No failures with 1k rounds so far.
The first 10 magazines through mine this weekend went flawlessly. I went with a Primary Arms 21mm micro reflex, and the screws that came with it must be fine.
I picked up a P-07 just after they discontinued them and they became scarce. I got one barely used from a gentleman who had the trigger worked over. I'm glad I got this one since I don't plan on using optics, it is just less to come loose with usage. They look almost exactly the same so I'm sure the 09 will be a gem like the 07 is.
I had major feeding issues with Fiocchi defender hollow points, it wouldn't go into battery. I polished the chamber and feed ramps, no joy. I tried CCI and Federal, and it runs great.
"It's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into Wisconsin" Name the movie.
I just went through the comment section on honest outlaws video and found that he still had the same issue after removing the optic so I'm assuming he got a lemon. Anxious to see his follow up video on it
You might’ve missed the part with honest outlaw using the wrong magazines. I would suggest anyone that’s having problems while using the proper magazines to try polishing their feed ramps and see if that doesn’t accomplish satisfaction.
The snap caps being necessary is kind of lame. It’s something that’s so easy to forget as I can see while you were testing the trigger pull weight 😅 but easy to learn as well.
I have the full size version and like you think the gun received some underserved bad press. Everyone complains about the trigger and I don’t think it’s so bad yes the DA is long and heavy but still better than over DA/SA guns I have had experience with. I would agree that the SA breaks a bit far back but it is very light and is surprising how good it is. The optics cut issue is nothing new I remember the first MOS Glocks and other guns same issues until people realized that they was the reason with not checking screw length. This should be done anytime an optic is installed. My only complaint is they used the micro sight mrsc optics cut. For a full size gun I would like to see a deltapoint pro cut, I can understand why they didn’t use the rmr cut as it would cause them to make the slide wider. On the loaded chamber indicator. I am so glad that they didn’t do the stupid window cut in the top of the barrel as a loaded chamber indicator that will smoke up the optics. I don’t understand why any manufacturer would even consider this and for me it’s a deal killer. Just the stupidest design in history. What they have is weak but I don’t relay on any device like this press check are free. All in all I mostly agree with you but I would rate the gun higher. On cost considering other optics ready guns on the market the nocturne comes in lower, and is probably the lowest cost cz you will find. I’m am truly impressed by this gun and happy to have it.
Great review. Handled one in shop and loved the ergos but cz 75 shopping at the moment. On a side note did you have the warranty work done on your tpr9c? Wondering if you plan on an update video.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I did get the work done and the gun back. We're working on doing the video now. But basically, it ran beautifully for 60 rounds and then began light striking again with multiple ammo. Someone suggested we do a deep clean and try again - so we'll do that and post a final review - hopefully soon.
@DaGunGuy sorry to hear. Whatever the guys in Indiana did to mine seemed to fix the light strikes. Hopefully the smiths who worked on it can help out. When that gun works, it really is a blast to shoot.
I put a Holosun 507K ACSS Vulcan red dot on mine today. I used the screws that came with the dot itself. I did not file any screws to make them shorter, so they are the length they came as from the box. I was totally expecting to have issues and wanted to test the "screw theory". I put two hundred rounds through it right after installing it today and the gun ran flawlessly. From my understanding, there is no way for a screw to touch the ejector because of the metal that is between the ejector and the screw hole. That makes sense to me and since I don't have any issues with mine I'm not sure I buy the screw theory. I'm not a gunsmith so I could be completely wrong here. I saw Honest Outlaws video when it came out and was saddened by the performance of his particular gun. I've got a bunch of CZs and the P07 has been my EDC for a decade or so. I've yet to have any issue with ANY CZ that I own. I own a bunch of other brands to so it's not that I'm a CZ fan boy. They just flat work. Enjoyed the video and thanks for posting !!
Thanks for watching & commenting. I’m kind of in the same boat with you. Mine works fine. I'm going to throw a Holosun on it and see what happens. I too am no gun smith - but time will tell.
@@DaGunGuy If you haven't already, take a look at that 507K ACSS. I just could never get used to trying to "find" the dot with any other red dot on my handgun so I just took them off. The ACSS was a game changer for me. That huge reticle just finds the dot for you and quick. Good luck !!
The screw doesn't have to contact the extractor directly to cause an issue. I'm pretty sure it's a blind hole. It just needs to bottom out in the hole which is enough to distort the slide and cause issues. That's my understanding.
It’s specific to CZ or at least used to be they have a bigger footprint than sig sights could be different now but I doubt it they’ve kept it proprietary for the most part
I bought the P-09 and have been experiencing failure to feed issues. I do have the Holosun EPS on it, but also used shorter mounting screws from freedom gorilla. Polished the feed ramp and still had issues. Most the issues have been with mag tech ammo. The last 200 rounds I’ve used Blazer and no issues. I hope it was either just the ammo or the need for it to break in. I like the gun but still concerned about it being my EDC. The optic cut footprint is also compatible with the Cyelee CAT series of optics. Great review. Subbed.
I had the same issues, even with blazer. I have an 07 and 01 that run flawlessly. I sent it to CZ for repair and am awaiting its return. If it doesn’t run flawlessly it will get shipped down the road, or returned again to CZ. Hopefully they get it sorted out as the gun is otherwise great (accuracy, ergos, etc.)
I have a CZ P07 chambered in .22. Then I wanted it in 9mm but couldn't get it anymore. So I ordered a P09C. 3 Months later I am still waiting. I am a little bit annoyed...if CZ can't deliver the P09C why did they take the P07 from the market so quickly because in the end I might buy another brand and they loose a client. That is not good handling.
It looks like there are plenty available online if you do a search on one of the online gun megastore aggregators. It also looks like the price has come down to around $470.00👍
You over rated this pistol. The trigger should have been rated a 2 or 3. Slop and a heavy triger pull should not warrant a rating of 4. The fact that you needed to order springs reflects that. Concerning the optic cut, likewise it should be rated a 3 since you need to modify the screws. I have several CZ pistols, but I did not purchase this pistol because of the bad press regarding reliability. I may still get one but not anytime soon.

What springs did you change did you buy a kit?
Did you use the Cajun Gun Works spring set?

Fantastic review! Love how much breadth of knowledge and fun facts were brought to the table.
Much appreciated!
Great review. One of the best I’ve come across on this firearm. Thank you, I will be picking one of these up in the future.
Thanks for watching and the comment!!!
Wow! Nice comprehensive amazing review dude. I’m gonna go binge watch your other reviews. Amazing!
Glad you liked it. Thank you!
Love the history. I’m glad you figured the issue. 🎉
Thank you!
The History lesson is what made me subscribe. Thank You.
Nice in depth review. Thanks.

And thats a direct mount?
@almanneck8159 yep, it's RMS/RMSc pattern
Loved the gratuitous Ron Jeremy reference.

I have a cajunized p07. Glad I have it. Never selling it.
A Brazilian hug. Thank you for the video. God bless the Americas 🇧🇷🤝🇺🇲👊🏻🙏🏻
Muito Obrigado (hope I got that right)

CCI and Federal ball or hollow point? Wondering if it commonly struggles with hollow point.
@@chefmatt6299 CCI ball and Federal HST LE is what I tried.

Me too. It seems like these companies are letting more lemons slip through QC lately. We got the TPR9 back and should have the 686 Talo in a week.

Wish they would make this in 10MM

I got the P09. Waiting to see what CZ says about the recommended screw sizes moving forward
CZ can’t help you. It depends on what optic you go as they have different deck heights.
Just bought one yesterday, not an optics guy, so I will see if it eats everything I feed it.
Well? Did it eat good that day?

The feeding issue this model has been having is the barrel throat
I haven't heard that before. Could you expand a bit for everyone? And how would you go about fixing that problem?
@ according to David at CGW from the 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock positions down to the feed ramp there needs to be a chamfer
