Same thing was happening with the m&p .40 2.0…. I couldn’t even load a full mag at first the last round wouldn’t go in for nothing… then I let the mag sit for a few days then loaded the last one in and it finally went in sit for a couple days after and the magazine was smooth and a lot easier to load and not one malfunction
Damn it!!!! I was really wanting to purchase one of these!!! What is it about the 10mm that makes it so damn finicky??? My G20 Gen5 even suffers from failure to feed issues as well!!! 🤬
I’ve had this pistol for several months with many trips to the range, no issues. The only other 10mm that compares is my Springfield. Both have had no failure to feed with over 500 rounds.
I wanted so much to buy one of these Smith and Wesson performance center 10mm’s but the unreliability made me look for something different. I ended up buying a Springfield XDM Elite OSP, it eats any ammo you feed it and has a fully supported chamber.
For reasons unknown, I like the Underwood Xtreme Defender and Flat Nose Black Cherry Coated in 10mm, but like the Grizzly it's expensive and I haven't shot any bears with it, so I don't know (for sure) that it works as advertised.
That is disappointing. I would expect it to run everything out of the box. I have a 1.0 40 cal. & A 2.0 40cal. We have or have had a # of Shields(9, 40 & 45) in our family with only 1 failure to feed in many thousands of rounds. I have given this very gun some consideration. But going to wait a bit.
Found the best way to break guns and mags in is to store in safe with fully loaded mag +1 in the chamber. This helps break in the mag spring and extractor spring. Let sit a few days or longer. Will then eat any ammo you throw at it.
Nuts! I was hoping it would be reliable as a bear defense gun. I have a lot of bear tracks around my archery deer hunting treestand and I'm looking for a reliable 10mm without having to $pend lots of $$$
You're not the only one with issues S&B ammo. I had a couple failure to feed and 1 misfire shooting out of a Glock 20 gen 3. Never had issues with double tap, federal, HSM bear loads, or any 10mm target loads. S&B = shit & bullshit ammo 😂

Get a metal optic cover plate or run a optic and metal adapter plate that weighs over 2oz. That will slow the slide down. That solved my g20 gen 5 ftf

Mine jammed like crazy. Sent it in for repair, they did nothing. I installed an Apex Failure Resistant Extractor and it fixed all my issues.
Never had any problems what so ever with mine and I shoot all kinds of loads. Got mine a few months ago.

Get the FN 510... It's very reliable & holds up to 22 rounds
Ever try braking a gun in wet? Or at least moist?…haha
I've got one and I've run a little over 2000 rounds not one malfunction so far.
Not Typical BUT Good to Hear.
