How I added a Nozzle Cam to my SOVOL SV06
#3dprinting #3dprint #3dprinting #3dprinting #sovol #sv06
This is how I added a second camera to my SV06 for timelapses.
You can't timelapse out of the box with the SOVOL Klipper Screen unfortunately, but this is a great way to screen record or even just to watch. Setting up the screen to be able to timelapse requires editing the EMMC which could potentially brick your Klipper Screen. You would have to buy an EMMC reader and back it up. If that's something that a lot of people show interest in learning how to do, I will make a video explaining it. Leave me some comments and let me know :)

A nice way to keep your desk tidy of instrument cables if you've got spare stuff lying around. You'll need a guitar output jack and a mono instrument cable (guitar cable). ◽Model - www.printables.com/model/878440 or - www.thingiverse.com/thing:6620490
Very Nice brother; i'am allergery too but harmônic player....
The only downside I see is the hinge, a better hinge would be to flip it back and forth from either side like a butterfly hinge, or do that but with a regular butterfly hinge with flush instead of snapping together you would drill wholes and insert a rod, that would make it more rigid on the hinge and stand up to drops better.
I put in my wifi address, got an IP (private ip as you did) but NOTHING after that. Didn't open anything whereas yours went into Mainsail. I assume the connection is from Klipper, to wifi, to whatever IP is associated with Mainsail, but have no idea why it didn't go there. Ideas anyone? I'm soooo close to making this work.
I had an issue where the IP was showing up but I couldn't get into Mainsail. On the screen where it shows your connections ( 14:06 ) at the end of the last line it shows a number and then '"dBm". That's the WiFi signal strength. Mine was something like -90 dBm, which is very weak. If yours is weak, try moving the printer closer to the router, or what I did was buy a WiFi extender from Amazon for like $16 and put it in the room with the printer and connect it through that. (The one I bought a.co/d/aKkcQFM)
Thank you Big Bro 💪💪💪💪
i'm sorry, but why is this useful?
For me, time lapses. th-cam.com/users/shorts7OTgsEF4paA?feature=share
It's cool! Also, you can monitor your printer from another room on your phone for example.
@@TNX255 it is kinda cool, but the time lapses it produces are kinda shit, no? I guess if you have a perfectly aligned seam, maaaaybe.. but even then a stationary cam is better. this is different i guess? But different for the sake of different isnt great :( but it is cool
@@Voidroamer That's just because of the quality of the camera, Avel did say it's 10 years old. You can get better ones.
What’s the pid step you did for?
That was to keep the hot end temperature stable because I've changed my part cooling fan. If you change yours or notice that your printing temperature isn't holding fairly steady, it's a good idea to do this.
I haven’t taken that step yet. I’m a 3d printer virgin. I’ve been looking into it for the last few weeks and overdosining on how it all works. Resin still trips me out. Was a complete mystery or magic before I looked it up. Bambu a1 I really like but the sv06 is so cheap from Amazon but worried about the extra hassle that the a1 seems to have way over the sovol So sitting on the fence right now and happy to watch more vids. You remind me of old tony. So nice work on the vids. Really nice.👍
Thanks 🙂 I appreciate you watching! I hear you. They're both good printers, but each has its pros and cons. I'm looking at the SV08 now, myself. I'm sure whichever one you choose, you'll be happy.
Great Video. Was a Part of my best Day, very funny. Thanks...
I would call that a big "WIN". Thanks for the great step-by-step video, keep up the good work.
ah, you're using my endoscope mount. nice! i've linked your video in the description :) my endoscope has a builtin light.
That's awesome! 😁 I appreciate that! And the model, it works perfectly. Mine has a light too, but it's really dim. Could be due to the age, though.
Is here someone who has fixed the auto-z-align-problem with the SOVOL SV06? Everytime I start the "Auto Z-align" the printer starts moving, stops and the display shows "Driver error: PRINTER HALTED please reset". I already installed the latest firmware from a new micro-SD-card, but i never got farther than the Auto Z-align

Cool tutorial
I love your video editing. Cut scenes. Background music and voice over. Really nice video 👍
Thank you 😁
It seems like you didn’t do anything to fix tolerances? Did it work because your yellow material was compressible? You mentioned it was TPU, so I figure that might be it
I can't remember exactly because of how long ago it was, but if I had adjusted anything for tolerance, I typically would upscale the model (the GoPro model in this case) by 0.20mm on all sides before 'subtracting' it from the parts that would be printed in TPU. Yep, TPU can be squishy, so it's very possible I didn't adjust here.
Lots of love to your dad! Great printer, I am currently looking into both SV06 and SV07, differnce in price between the two in my region is just 36 USD. I like the SV06 hardware wise i.e. rails but it doest seem cost effective (when comparet do SV07 price in my region) to get a RasPI and touchscreen for getting it upgraded to klipper.
Haha, thanks 😁 Definitely go for the SV07 if you're wanting Klipper out-of-box. I'd like to check out the SV08, too. I think that's going to be a great printer from what I've seen. But it's a lot more, price-wise. The Klipper screen is a great add-on for the SV06 too, now that I've used it a bunch, there's no way I could ever go back. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose. 🙂
Congrats bro.. you got something going on there..keep up the good content!
The song is Dans Mes Reves by Angel Lover for those wondering! Love your music choice
It's crazy how the material (PLA) affected the tone brightness!
did you print it with supports?
No supports.

Can I let the filament touch the dry beads? Thanks for your help.
I accidentally dumped a bunch on a couple spools, and it didn't hurt anything. So it should be fine. It just made a mess when I tried shaking them off.

my solvol 6 has two fans .
Awesome concise information packed video. Thank you!
hello, did you install an filament runout sensor for SV06 with klipper?
I have not, but it might be something I look into in the future.
Something i Learned when flashing these "creality" boards if you are having trouble flashing the firmware. Dont use firmware as the name at all try ender or something different for some reason the boards had trouble flashing different firmware by using that name i switched to ender.bin and flashed immediately with no issues.
That makes sense. Sometimes I have just named them FW1, FW2..etc instead of typing out "Firmware".
I'm just about to do this fan upgrade for the heat creep and for cooling, have those winsinn fans been working well for you or is there another kind you would recommend?
Thanks for watching the video! I've used Winsinn fans on pretty much all the printers I've owned, and I haven't had an issue yet.
@@Avel ok thank you Ill be ordering some now!
Great tutorial thanks
Thank you for being concise and direct. I am working on a school project and videos like this are much appreciated.
did somebody tried this mod on a sv06 plus ?
I've seen a few mention that it doesn't fit on the Plus. I think they mentioned it hits the build plate guides.
I know I'm seeing this a little too late but i was wondering, why not put the tape on the magnetic bed itself? Wouldn't that allow you to use either side of the plate?
Someone mentioned doing that, but I don't know if they ever actually tried it. Might be worth attempting.
the way i typically do this is i start a sketch on the bottom face and make a 0.5mm - 1.0mm square rotated 45 degrees onto its tip that insets into the body by 0.5mm or so and use that for the coil, might make it a little neater, especially when it comes to flat-flat faces, once ive done that i do the same sketch just instead using a left handed coil and then use the circular pattern tool to wrap it around the body
Very great tutorial on FS360. I will try to recreate myself, looks like really great learning model to create. Cheers
