My guess is both squidward and mr krabs can fill in for spongebob and are decent cooks, but they aren't as good as spongebob, which makes sense when you consider that spongebobs love seems to literally be an ingredient, we know spongebob doesn't work for free and krabs in an infamous cheapskate, so spongebob probably doesn't have shifts everyday, when spongebob fully leaves the results are exaggerated for comedic effect, which is why some episodes show squidward and krabs as bad cooks, but what's really happening is the only kraby pattys being made are the mediocre version anyone can make and not the super naturally good version only spongebob and jim can make This would also explain why when deciding to fire one employee krabs picks spongebob, he's technically replaceable, not a good idea to replace him but he can be replaced, but squidward is the only krusty krab employee that doesn't have an over the top personality (most the time) he may be hated but only mildly, spongebob and mr krabs would both go off the rails when interacting with customers directly for long periods of time

Can we just all agree that there are two SpongeBob Universe's the one we all love is the Hillenburg Universe which came to an end after the first Movie, the other is Nickelodeon's Universe AKA the Corporate Universe which will most likely never come to an end and will be more and more awful as years go by.

Now, when it comes to the police officers in SpongeBob, the reason they’re so corrupt is because they don’t have IAB. Internal affairs, Bureau involved in preventing crooked cops on the force along with even investigating first responders and that’s pretty much it without the body cams before. Also, given the fact that they Citizen a bikini bottom, bean background characters they pretty much are irredeemable. Meaning that every background character in SpongeBob is evil. Nobody is innocent like they’re so evil in SpongeBob that we don’t even have an answer to why the creator of SpongeBob made these characters so twisted. I feel like squidward is more indifferent towards patrick than anything he just finds him to be stupid. But patrick is just a guy who mostly minds his own business and doesnt do much. Spongebob constantly annoys squidward and causes him stress. Id say he definitely hates spongebob more but i think deep down he likes to hate him because it gives him something to do and distracts him from boredom and mediocrity.

Im a 2002 baby so by the time I was old enough watching spongebob I was probably around season 5 or so. Not entirely sure. I still like the first 3 seasons but I wont deny I also have a soft spot for Spongebob even up until around 2014/2015. Since around then I stopped watching tv so I didnt have access to spongebob and Im also not paying for ANOTHER streaming service to watch it. Ill just try and 🏴‍☠️

Most of the comments below said it already, but, I agree with them that Squidward has fry cook ability he keeps tucked away until he absolutely has to. It’s just another part of work he doesn’t want to do. As a super market employee, I can relate! Krabs works the grill and floor in the odd episodes where the other two aren’t in house for whatever reason. I seem to remember the strike episode being the first example of this. And then, occasionally, you have the random times when other cooks are manning the grill like the guy Squidward kissed. Fascinating look at the lore despite the inconsistency

I think they fill up the patty vault when they know Spongebob will be gone the next day, but when it’s an unscheduled leave/late I assume Krabs or Squidward will run the grill til he gets back

SpongeBob’s annoying but at least he’s more often than not well intentioned. Patrick just has an increasingly smoother and smoother brain and his annoying behaviour is malicious far more often than Spongebob’s is.

I’ve noticed that a large amount of children’s entertainment coming out recently has been without any speaking, only a bunch of gags with only partial speech. It shows that these adults see kids as nothing but mindless slop, and they want to keep it that way.

With all the evidence provided, I would fully believe Krabs has a temp-controlled Patty Vault that he has Spongebob stock up before his days off or the like. How he was doing it before that though I'm still up in the air on. My guess is that Krabs worked the grill up until he started getting tired of it/couldn't convince Pearl to help out lol
