We are all here but for a while on this tiny blue blip called earth. It is our prime responsibility to tend our own garden: that of the inner self, while tempering the ego. You're starting to sound like that pre-Socratic philosopher, Heraclitus with your point on things being in flux, changing; the illusion of stability. Heraclitus was the first to articulate what we now call moral relativism. As much as I would like to think self-healing is essential, it is, I also know not all wounds heal. And that's ok, if you're willing to live with the costs and consequences. Funny, this lesson is born out of Frodo in the LOTR, carrying a stab wound for the rest of his life. It's called reality.

I find it so fascinating you speak candidly on the centrality of feeling as a young immigrant woman in a settler-colonial/digital culture that's predicated on materialism, exponential growth, resource extraction, technology, sensory overload, over-stimulating the base chakra as a constant, the hegemony of the eye (I) and not feeling that you're a woman in the least bit, all the while. That's a powerful truth, unnerving, but true. I definitely feel where you're coming from. In a society as such that I have only briefly sketched, efficiency is what counts. Getting as much stuff done in little time at minimum costs at the behest of employers. Emotions are irrelevant. Like I said, I'm glad I just subscribed. Keep making more videos like these, perhaps, you should start jutting down your thoughts. It'll make great writing. Speaking as a poet myself❤🌻

Especially nowadays employers look if you have some experience doing the tasks at hand, or they won't hire you. you need Canadian experience, a lot of businesses won't train you anymore like they used to do. @SahelSarai I know. I am a very different kind of person, so finding like-minded people is difficult. Recently, I met a gal, and we had a thing going, or so I thought. Turns out she was just using me for her narcissistic supply. Prior to that, I lost a job, in part, due to the duplicitous woman I worked for, and now I think I'm going to lose my current job for the same reason: Narcissists and their victims are cut from the same cloth: trauma. The narcissist chooses death on the inside, and the others choose avoidance and have too much fear and lack boundaries. (I'm not sure "choose" is the right word.) The predators can easily spot their prey. It's going to take me forever to learn how to deal with this. I've noticed a pattern of always ending jobs with some sort of drama involved, and awhile back, I figured out it's me. Anyways, thanks for your kind words and encouragement. Cheers

It saddens me that narcissism is so rampant now, whether that’s because it’s encouraged by the system, or trauma is more shame based now, I really don’t know. But I know there’s healing for those with trauma, there’s ways to recognize those familiar feelings that point to a comfort zone we created in childhood and a way to rationally and actively avoid them. And while therapists and self help gurus love to make it sound complicated and hard I really really think it can come quicker with self love and a focus on acting in your own best interest (in a way that doesn’t hurt others of course!) Either way, thank you for sharing. You’re not alone, not by a long shot! I’m willing to bet there are people who are going to see this conversation and relate to your situation. @SahelSarai Oh, sorry. I didn't get any of that from the first 3-4 minutes that I did watch. But shouldn't that apply to men also? Psychopathy is the real enemy of humanity. Psychopaths run the world. They gravitate towards power positions, and in the corporate world, I suppose most of them are men, but not all. Women tend to be more narcissistic, falling into the predatory, hypergamous cheater wife category.

I haven't finished the video, but I kid you not the way I have needed this video. !!!! I am not in Canada, I am in the US, but I needed something like this video for the past few weeks. I am trying to find a (any) job as an undergrad student and it is both daunting and difficult. Thank you for putting any type of advice on this out there for people like me. ❤ EDIT: Yes to the follow-up video!!! I loved all the advice you gave. I even downloaded some apps for more strategic job hunting in the next few days. Thank you for being transparent, spcifically about not being a good fit for every position. I am not great at high paced environmwnrs because of my anxiety, but I can do almost anything in a slow-moderately paced workspace. Lots of love your way. ❤❤❤

@@Lovingly_Ashley thank you so much for your comment girlie!! Being an undergrad student and needing a job is a stressful situation, I’ve been there and I totally get you!!! You are so much more capable than you think and I’m sure you will find something. I definitely will film a follow up video expanding on these points, I’m filming a video a day every day of July so there are plenty of opportunities! ♥️♥️

@@SahelSarai Thank you for your kind words! And for the future follow-up! I am in a larger US city, and sometimes it feels challenging to radiate confidence at employers when all I get told as a Gen Z person is that employers/corporations are not trustworthy or worth putting in the effort for, so I truly am grateful for your gentle yet insightful advice. I am trying to break free of the workplace pessimism that permeates social media, so hearing that I can just be providing a service and not take every action an employer or recruiter takes personally or pessimistically is relieving. 🥰❤️ Wishing you all the continued success! And I hope more people like me find this video.

Ive learned to really truly love and appreciate my ego in a way i never knew possible. The level of compassion ive cultivated for myself has been what has allowed to embrace all my shadows, invite them all to the tea party. I have witnessed a few aspects of my ego either totally dissolve or integrate. But I am grateful for the friendship i have made with my own being. How i treat myself is the standard for how i am treated by others. I have lost many friends due to this. But i wouldnt have it any other way. I take things less personally, also less reactive and able to view things with a lot more openness, curiosity and neutrality. Befriending your shadows is a big part of the work of befriending the ego. I know that there is a lot of teachings and information in the spiritual world about annihilating the ego. How terriyfing the language! When you build trust and care towards your ego, there is more of a willingness to let go. But trying to force anything in my experience will not get you very far. Like you said, it will show up in other ways.
