I am so excited for Suikoden 1 and 2! I love those games (my favourite is the underrated Suikoden IV.) Currently playing 'Trails in the Sky' for the first time, I am really enjoying it. I am delighted that turn-based RPGs are finally getting some love. I want a remake/remaster of Vagrant Story. (And legend of Dragoon, and Legend of Legaia) And has anyone played Koudelka? Such a good game! A remake would be awesome.

Looking forward to Expedition 33. Also, Eternal Strands, Crimson Desert, and Ghost of Yotei.

ff ix doesnt need a remake :( it could be good but I'd prefer 8 or a 1:1 X remake where the only difference is 4k and a 3d camera!

I feel like the writing team really have their work cut out for them with the third part. Parts 1 and 2 massively expanded on things to the point where collectively they only covered one disc from the original between two games. Assuming they don't change their plans to keep the remake a trilogy, then they only have one more game to condense two discs worth of source material, plus tying up all the new threads that have been woven into this story so far, AND bring it all to a satisfying conclusion. That is a LOT of stuff to cover and if they drop the ball with the final instalment, it's gonna be devastating. I don't envy the position they're in. :D

Dialogue from the TOTA where sephiroth says in JP that the "world is no longer one. A world that has escaped the shackles of fate is carving out a new time (which is suppose to be eternity). Along with Jenova, the world too shall reunite." The English script somewhat states this, but I find the JP script to give you a better understand about the different worlds. I think for sure OG is Stamp 1 or 2. I don't think the divide happened at the end of Remake like it leads you to believe, because we see the same 'wall of fate' open up again when Cloud enters the temple to get to Aerith. So if Cloud entered through the wall of fate but his comrades didn't at the end of Rebirth ... what does that mean? Also at the end of Remake, Sephiroth and Cloud are looking at both the universe of creation and the universe of death. (according to the remake ultimate material book) So are those suppose to be two different worlds?

Huh. The Ancient Forest? I'm getting more excited now for Part 3! I've heard of the Sleeping Forest, but the Ancient Forest, IF it appears for the finale, is going to BLOW OUR MINDS! I just want to see how the big finale will play out! That's going to end the FFVII series with a HUGE BANG!

What if we got the actual Cait Sith summon?

Glad you mentioned a "0 star" world, because that's my thought for the OG. They have to have considered, with a multiple worlds scenario, that OG never had Stamp. I think Stamp himself already represents that it's not the original timeline. Personally I don't think we'll ever see the OG timeline in this trilogy. I think people will just have to know that by putting two and two together, after having played both FF7 and the Remake Trilogy

With how well received the epic summon battles were in FF16, and how well they were received, I can't see them not doing something similar with FF7R part 3. I expect them to be core parts of the story. The way they elude to the summons in FFR7 part 2, you'd expect that the summons you had still weren't at their full power. And, if they're savvy, the developers will make the full power summons detrimental to beating the the weapons (and final Sephiroth). Think about it... Leviathan will battle Sapphire weapon in the water. Bahamut Zero will battle Ultima Weapon in the skies. KotR will be the key to taking down Sephiroths final OP form. Etc etc

For kotr it would be hard to have them all run around so i guess we will see the "leader" of the knights run around the field and once he uses his final attack, he call the rest to all have a hit.

Ultima Weapon unlocked this forest in ogFF7 and the Ultima Weapon sword was obtained therein… perhaps an expansion on Ultima Weapon’s narrative akin to what we got with the Weapons in FF7re2?

I’d love some of the locations from the compilation to be included. Fort Tamblin when you get to WuTai or the ruins on Banora etc. Such a good way to stick in some side missions having new locations.

I've always been of the mind that with Bugenhagen joining the Party upon going back to the Forgotten Capital, locating the Lunar Harp would now be the only way to regain entry. I guess now, the Ancient Forest could replace the Sleeping Forest as it could be one and the same, which kinda reminds me of the Greenwood turning into Mirkwood in Tolkien lore - but the other way round. Once out of the cave, then to the Forgotten Capital they enter and after that, the Highwind can land in that small patch of land like it did before in the OG...

We still have yet to see the humanoid female monsters in the re trilogy: Snow, Pollensalta, and Jemnezmy... I wonder if having sentient enemies that you can converse with could be something we see in part 3, like maybe in this updated version of the Ancient Forest. In a similar vein, the Ancient Forest was an optional dungeon in the OG, as was the Sunken Gelnika, so it's entirely possible that these locations could be used to properly flesh out missing story beats.

Oh wow, TIL that the Ancient Forest exists in game in OG FF7. I saw this video for an OG rendition of the Rebirth Gongaga track with the same footage th-cam.com/video/GTWDMTwV63w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aJUI103WPf-eJR2V. I had just assumed someone had animated an OG version of Gongaga to go with it.

Side note, if they do expand it into a whole chapter I think the same as yourself, in that we'll travel through there with Bugenhagen and the key of the ancients. I reckon there will be a huge Aerith related info dump there too so that the lifestream sequence wont end up a 5 hour cutscene. Things like scenes from Remake and Rebirth from Aeriths point of view, seeing the 'cracked' sky at the end of Remake, and Rebirths Valkrie fight for example.

I watched that video yesterday, as a kid I spent hours trying to get into that cave as my Uncle told me that it led to Mogs house. Bugger.

Slightly unrelated, but: that scene in the Shinra historical hologram, when the airship is approaching the castle looks a lot like the title sequence of the airship approaching Castle Alexandria in IX. The ship itself looks like the one you get at endgame too. On a more-related note, I could see Bone Village being a small hub, with the exploratory mini-game being applied to the whole continent -or world? The question would really be how they'd restrict your access to the forest in the open world. I wonder if the Cetran City is still in that deep fissure.

Interesting ideas. One that occurred to me is depending on what they end up doing with Aerith, and if there is still uncertainty among the party when they get to that point, it could be a way for Tifa to see that she was saved in some fashion or another, and maybe Cloud isn't "completely" out to lunch. Maybe that even leads to the return to the Forgotten Capital in part 3.

Actually from what I have tried a tiny bit. Use art and magical clay and you get a potion of something that boosts friends levels by 16. (This may be the highest idk). As long as you hold on that one and then eventually use magic film to duplicate it then you should be able steal without going into private action. And I believe if you’re going for the platinum then also having those may help as well with getting everyone’s ending. I am about 4 hours in on a new play thru. And I believe this should work but have to test it first. Once I max out every ones IC I’ll be trying it.

I've been convinced since the first game that Chadley is going to be the final summon. 😂

Missed story part 2 and 3?

5:47 alot of things that have occured has led me to believe this may be the one great truth: its all just one big genjutsu Jenova put on everyone and im all here for it!

As much as I'd love to use KOTR, I almost don't want them to be anything but overpowered, but overpowered stuff negates challenges. What if you never get them, but have to fight them corrupted by Sephiroth as the game's true super boss? Picture having to fight Ruby and Emerald at the same time, then just as you're about to defeat them, KOTR wipe them out, and the real fight begins. The reward could be some scene in the past of what they did in life, followed by a brief vacation to Costa Del Sol when the party accidentally burns down Johnny's Villa! lol

Rebirth and Remake, is i honestly think after AC, thats why on remake the arbiters of fate knew already what happened and unlike the OG they showed Cloud how aerith dies i think thats why he actually parries sephirot this time.
