What about young Sephiroth? That would be the perfect opportunity to expand more on his motivations & details that we got in Ever Crisis, and it would go perfectly with what we got with Zack in Rebirth. And just like with Zack, I'd also love for us to return to playing young Sephiroth flashbacks during the whole game.
It would be cool if they touched a bit on Sephiroth origin that we are seeing in evercrisis, give a little more insight to those that aren’t following evercrisis chapters.

I’ve been thinking maybe indirectly, we could get Vincent flashbacks and find out what he actually meant when he said he could have killed Sephiroth several times but never could bring himself to. My gut feeling is that some of those times Sephiroth was probably a child. It’s even possible kid Sephiroth seeing or getting attacked by Chaos mode Vincent is what gave adult Sephiroth such a strong visceral reaction to seeing the mako humans at the Nibelheim reactor. I know if I saw something that looked like a half remembered nightmare creature from my childhood I’d probably freak out.
@cathygrandstaff1957 I do like this ideas maybe not the Chaos bit, but i can see the reasinoning. Maybe if that was to happen, it would definitely be around meeting Lucrecia in the cave to establish the flashback. It does potentially set something up now he is "security" so actively around the mansion compared to in OG when he gets shot, experimented on, and was sleeping ever since.
I don't know what the very first thing we see will be but I think we will absolutely get snowboarding very early on and I think it will be a deliberately uncomfortable sequence where Cloud is fairly jovially getting into it - thinking he's saved Aerith - while everyone else is grieving.
Cloud and Yuffie snowboarding, Cait Sith skiing on his moogle 😂, and the rest of the party in the bronco, with Barret and Red comforting Tifa, Vincent in the back by himself, and Cid obviously flying it.
The other left field one could be young sephiroth flashback. Depending on what comes out of the First Soldier story from Ever Crisis they might want to explain some of that for those who don't play it.
Not sure, but I really, really want them to go all in on unhinged Cloud. Like, maybe even make him a full on horror character at some points. He should just be eerie af
I really look forward to Cloud's breakdown, and Tifa saving him. Specifically, having the two realize how much they mean to each other - AND how they have hurt each other.
My prediction for the first chapter is a jump ahead to the escape from Junon, and the following chapters would be how they end up there. I feel that they need to start off the game with a bang, and that would be the best way to do it.
This is BOLD but i like it! Assuming you mean Tifa and Barrett are held captive. And while captive, they recall the events that lead up to that moment. Possibly the Icicle Inn along with the Aerith backstory. Then once they reach current time, Cloud is no longer with the crew and they set off to find him. Definitely adds some suspense to the story!
Assuming that Jenova is going to be important in the final game I think one of the best ideas I heard was a flashback opening showing the Cetra defeating Jenova. That would be very cool. It also wouldn't surprise me if we start in Wutai. Clear from the end of Rebirth that things will be kicking off there soon enough. If not that, then I think Zack again, and quick confirmation of where he is exactly. I've seen speculation that he might be in the main Beagle world because of the abundance of flowers in the church at the end, but I doubt it. I can't really see him NOT teaming up with Aerith somehow, and he definitely wouldn't be doing that in Beagle.
@@mikeduff2070 yeah but he got pulled into the white space before it impacted, and he was shown in another world again in his final scene. Although we don't really know what's going on with Zack I'd say he's no deader at the end of Rebirth than he was at the start of it.
They were pretty deliberate to state that they did NOT cut any content, just rearranged the timing. The things we missed were Rocket Town and Bone Village. Bone Village was a minigame that had involvement with the return to Midgar. It's also the gateway to the northern continent. I think they'll land the plane there due to weather and prepare for a Mt. Corell esque expidition into the polar region. Not sure how they'll replace the sleeping forest and Ancient city, but there's that hotspring town from Crisis Core they could visit.
Bone village in the original was there on disc one to get the earth harp to go into the sleeping forest to get to the temple aerith is praying in, we didnt go there at all for a earth harp, which was odd. In my oppinion blone village might be kept out.
Possibly land in modeoheim, because its some old entry on Cid's maps/charts that he's never been to. Hoping to refuel, they instead find monsters and hints of past events. This serves as the tutorial area? Then make their way to Icicle Inn on foot because the bronco remains unfueled?
Makes sense to start that journey to northern crater and lose Cloud from the party early on. If I’m hedging bets then I think we start literally where we ended rebirth. On the bronco heading to icicle inn.
I always imagined us starting where we left off with Aerith….maybe get a hint about what’s going on with her, and then go back to the party and see how effed up Cloud is and how the party is super uneasy about what’s happening with him. Probably ask Tifa lowkey what his deal is or something, and she’d just sigh and not know what to say. Lots of unhinged Cloud moving forward and sketched out party. Maybe a snow storm will make them stop flying the Tiny Bronco and they’ll have to trek it on foot.
This is pure speculation. Rebirth started with a different perspective of the highway scene and I think this time we'll see the forgotten capital sequence through the eyes of Cid and Vincent since they were excluded of the multi-stage boss-fight. To follow up, some action with Aerith. Afterwards you continue with the party in the Icicle Inn where Vincent will share his past with Sepiroth and we get a flashback of Vincent as a Turk confronting Hojo where you learn to play as Vincent. I think Cid will have his own DLC between Rebirth and part 3, to get more backstory on Ifalna and his dream to go into space and how Shinra crushed it.
Not sure about the opening, but i suspect the party will continue to have the Tiny Bronco at their disposal all the way up to the Junon rescue sequence. It will be damaged either leading up to them infiltrating Junon to rescue Tifa and Barret, or during the actual event, thus prompting Cid to pivot and commandeer the Highwind. But remember there are 7 days during that time that are unaccounted for, as we begin from Tina's POV waking up from her 7 day coma. A lot must have happened with the rest of the party during that time.
I feel they’re going to throw something totally out of left field that we weren’t expecting. Maybe start in Rocket Town? Like a pit stop to refuel-then suddenly finding themselves chased by ShinRa troops. But then how would that transition to the snow fields…agh boo never mind! 😂
I honestly can’t see how they would. They are on the northern continent headed towards the Icicle Inn which is further north. To go to rocket town (of the large area in the western continent which is undiscovered in Rebirth is the Rocket Area) they’d have to literally go the opposite direction then come back again. The way I see it starting is that the party is flying the tiny bronco but a blizzard in the area forces them to land in threat of death. They land and stumble into Icicle Inn where they are greeted and find the Gast taped before Shinra, hot on their tails as usual show up and force them to escape on a snowboard and end up in the great glacier, exactly how it happened in the original and it makes sense. Also they could have the tutorial fight be against Shinra grunts and Elena . Then chapter 1 continues as the party tries to find their way out of the great glacier and ends with a boss fight against something (because there is no boss to use from the original) and after the fight they pass out from the cold and the beginning of chapter 2 is them waking up in Mr Holzoff’s cabin
I think it would be ether one of these three. A flash back with Zack of what acutely happen in Mt. Nibel, or a flash back with Vincent, and last a flash back with Yuffie before she left to midgar. I think one of the first two options is more likely
I feel like they'll likely do something semi-vanilla like opening in the north snow fields or something along those lines to give us a tutorial, but I hope before we get something off the rails before that. Maybe something showing the different "worlds" falling apart or merging and the effects on those worlds on the "main" one? Would be interesting to show the stakes of the worlds merging a bit and maybe give us a little tease as to what could happen with Aerith and Zack for the rest of the game. Probably wishful thinking since I am hoping they change things up from the OG (likely a minority view so if everyone else wants it to be straight forward, I'd certainly understand that), but if they're ever going to make the different themes, worlds, etc. mean something, they might as well start from the beginning of part 3? I really hope Final Fantasy VII rebirth wins Game of the Year of 2024. For remake part 3 we might play Young sephiroth from ever crisis as a flashback because ever crisis is also going to be leaning into ff7 remix Trilogy similar to how Kingdom Hearts does its thing but ff7 has its own set of titles. For the 30th anniversary flash the 30-year cook. Feels like Gi natok is the narrator for the first teaser trailer for ff7 remake back in 2015
Cloud isn’t mentally prepped to do a snowboard race with Zack right now. Therefore the icicle inn/Gaea’s cradle stuff must be reserved for later in the game (maybe approach for northern crater.) Hence the tiny bronco will in fact fly to whirlwind maze and drop the party there as the tutorial dungeon. Because why not.
You having a kid, or was that ultrasound image from the Metaphor footage? If the former: congratz man! If the latter: timing, man! On topic: Cold open to set the scene for the upcoming war; jump between Wutai and the Shinra board room, perchance even Rocket town, before coming to the party doing the "last time on Dragon Ball Z" necessaries as they hit the Tiny Bronco limits and tutorializing en route to Icicle Inn. They'd wanna match the energy of Rebirth's opening, so political intrigue seems like the most practical way to do so (the understated return of S-Glenn strategizing some teaser-y thing), though all things Zack are a huge X-factor.
We are and thank you! Wutai is another strong possibility, maybe they get driven away from the north crater initially and get forced to Wutai. Gonna look at a Wutai video in the nearish future!
I think we will get a brief glimpse of something with Aerith before going to Cloud and the party most likely icicle inn, I think showing something of Aerith early even a small glimpse will hook people in to trying to figure out what’s going on and builds up the mystery, They could potentially expand the icicle inn area around it make it a region like the areas on rebirth which gives opportunity for some tutorial stuff before moving on
I'm still hoping for that possible Rocket Town DLC. They can deny no DLC all they like - I believe it's happening! Aerith or Young Sephiroth beginning Re-Three would be sick. Even if the Zack sequence at the church began the game, that too would time nicely with the aftermath of Aerith's death. How cool would it be to see what happens next?! Congrats on soon to becoming a father too, btw...
The thing that I felt Rebirth was missing was the chance to explore the City of Ancients. I hope they give us a chance to explore the city at some point during the next game.

I think It'll open with the focus on Clouds deteriorating mental state. Maybe through some kind of flashback, showing how he is in denial of Aerith's passing. How he is content with the current situation, much to his companions concern and frustration. Tifa especially so.
For me personally, I would like to see it start with Aeriths death scene with Clouds dialogue as the actor did confirm he already did the lines for that scene. After Clouds dialogue ends, the scene transitions to him in present day where he and the gang are in the Tiny Bronco on their way North. Cloud and Aerith have a chat (only Cloud can see her) and whilst this is happening, it pans to Tifa whose looking at Cloud with concern. Cid then warns everyone that they are flying into a snow storm and is forced to land once it gets worse, landing them at Icicle Inn. The group journey through the Great Glacier with Tifa getting more worried about Clouds mental state as they arrive at the Northern Crater. The group journey through it and battle a new variant of Jenova called Jenova DEATHBRINGER, they encounter Shinra and Cloud learns the truth of who he is before passing the Black Materia to the crystallized and real Sephiroth. The Weapons awake and Tifa and Barret wake up in Junon as prisoners of Shinra with Barret revealing the meteor, with the title of the game being revealed before cutting to black where white text appears bearing an ominous message, *"7 DAYS REMAIN"*
My dream start for Part 3: Opens with Suddenly seeing two swords clashing. The camera pulls back and we see we are controlling Sephiroth in a flashback of him on a mission with Angeal and Genesis and having a sparring match to kill some time, which could be used to introduce new battle machanics which they will add for part 3 to the player. A curveball like Start like rebirth did with Zack. Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.
I’ve been thinking they might speed-run getting to the Northern Crater to deliver the Black Materia. If that’s the case what’s most likely to happen is the group is flying toward the crater in the Tiny Bronco, they see the Black Robes traveling beneath them and Cloud ends up forcing them to land. I think snowboarding will probably be something we get to as an optional minigame but it won’t be required like it was originally.
A short series Sector 6 thoughts is always a good way to start the day! I'm going to guess, we start with a Rufus and Turks scene when Shinra is preparing for war and a journey north. Rufus might have his first fleeting moment of doubt about what he is overseeing. I think then it will go to Cloud and the party, but there might be short interludes with Zack or Aerith. I think the Bronco will crash near the Modeoheim lab. There Cloud will see some old failed experiments of Hojo's where he was clearly trying to create Soldiers out of monsters, just like Genesis falsely believed project S to be about when he told Sephiroth in CC. What ever he saw here many years ago, Cloud will see too. This will give Sephiroth more solid ammo to mess with him, because until Cloud and Tifa realize Cloud was a regular trooper, Sephiroth is holding all the Queen's Blood cards lol. Modeoheim is also where Cloud and Zack met, and a lab means monsters and tutorials! So, very beginning with Rufus, quickly into Cloud and party with interludes in chapter 1. Fucking love these videos! How can a game make us geek out so hard? lol fucking incredible!
I've got three alternative opening options for you! 1. Tifa! Cloud is in a very bad state at the end of Rebirth and it's pretty apparent that the other party members are both aware of it and have talked amongst themselves about how Cloud isn't okay. Plus we know that Cloud isn't a reliable narrator so seeing he from an external perspective can really hammer that home. 2. Young Sephiroth! I'm sure this will come up again in the comments, but seeing how much they've been fleshing out Sephiroth and his backstory makes it an easy choice. Plus we can find out what Sephiroth's actually goal for Cloud is. "Lend me your strength" indeed. 3. Cloud! But not just any Cloud. Advent Children Cloud in the last fight versus Kadaj before he becomes Sephiroth. Bonuses as a tutorial boss battle. Cut it right as Sephiroth manifests.
My theory is that they will start the game with the group stopping to rest and recouperate in Rocket Town and Yuffie will steal their materia and run back to Wutai since she believes she doesnt have a chance to get the black materia anymore (they made tons of hints at this being her goal in Rebirth and they mentioned that the borders are going to close soon with the war coming again). This sets the game up to start you from ground zero with equipment and materia, plus a chance to do combat and game mechanics tutorials as you try and cross borders. Them crossing the border could also lead to Shinra shooting down the Tiny Bronco and leaving you without that transportation. The group being down two members (Aerith and Yuffie) would give them an opening to add Vincent and Cid as playable characters.
The game is going to start with Professor Gast with Ifalna to Lore dump the situation that is to come with Jenovah. Then for some reason i just picture Cloud in a Parker, as the plane has conked out again and have to traverse to icycle inn. Or something with Tifa introducing her mistrust in Cloud with the gang in the same sense as Aerith and Tifa in Kalm. But more intense to the point of burning bridges
Edit: as the days since my previous comment. I like the idea now of cloud seeing flashes of Aeriths death. Like he did in the Remake seeing the Original Game. But having to deal with seeing these flashes and the communication of this new Aerith and having to deal with this, confusing him even more. Talking to the crew like she's still alive and as always they stay silent allowing him to believe it. Which creates "what is real and what is fiction"
The devs mentioned that part3 will focus mainly on Sephiroth so i have a feeling that the first thing we will see will definitely be him or maybe him and Aerith in The LS arguing at some point giving us some more context of the re trilogy potentially being a sequel / post Ac/DoC
I think it would be a pretty missed opportunity not to set up Tifa's perspective first, considering everything that happens later. Tifa's point of view when finding Aerith's parentage in Icicle Inn while a mission-obsessed Cloud glosses over it would be a good place to start the game.
I think we do start Cloud's party landing in the Icicle Area airstrip and Icicle Inn. The actual start of the game will most definitely be either a Zack or Aerith segment like you suggested. If the lifestream theory proves to be correct, Zack and Aerith may even meet up in that opener to parallel him losing her in the Rebirth opening
With Cloud & co. pulling some mad tricks as they snowboard down the mountain, obviously. That's easily one of the most iconic moments of the original game, along with the crossdressing sequence and Hell House.
This is probably the most interesting question about part 3 for me. At the end of Rebirth Cid fixes the Bronco and Cloud says they need to head north to chase Sephiroth. I think it would be weird for them to start the game with the Bronco breaking down again. But it kind of needs to be unusable to have the party explore the northern continent. Maybe the party starts by landing at Icicle Inn because the Bronco can’t fly beyond it due to a snowstorm. You could have the Professor Gast backstory, a run in with the Turks, and give the player an excuse to explore the open world area south of Icicle Inn. Then, snowboarding can close out the chapter or be the start of chapter 2. People complain that it would be an odd tonal shift but it could be a good way for the party to be reminded that they can still have fun after spending a chapter lamenting Aerith’s death. Also, I do think starting with an Aerith & Zack prologue would be a good thing to provide a combat tutorial & to set the stakes for the game going forward. An Icicle Inn chapter wouldn’t have the same energy as the opening bombing run or Nibelheim flashback

I think Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will kick off with a Zack-focused opening to set the tone. After that, the main party will likely arrive at Rocket Town, since that whole section was skipped in Part 2. Maybe they stop there because Cid needs to refuel or make additional repairs. From there, we'll go on slight missions to get the vincent and Cid tutorial. As they leave, the Tiny Bronco gets shot down after the boss fight with that turd, forcing the party to crash land in the mountains. From there, they’ll have to navigate the area leading them somewhere near Icicle Inn.
Cloud gets back up after having one huge acid trip passing out before setting the bomb at the first reactor mission. What? I can still long for a true remaster.
It will be Tifa waking up in Junon for the meteor reveal (like I don't see how that isn't the title stinger). Then it will say one week prior or something to that effect and either show us the events of the icicle area or Wutai.
I think we'll start in the ice village much like we did with Kalm. But I think there will be a lot of story for the likely still grieving party. Then I think some fighting with Shinra ending on a boss fight with Elena, before the possible snow boarding event. I can't wait to see the W's (trying not to spoil) and the two headed dragon was my favorite boss, so I'm excited for that too
It looks like Part 3 has a LOT of ground to cover (two discs worth of content from the original). Given what they've set up in Remake and Rebirth, it's inevitable that some of this will be cut and/or rearranged (looking at the Big Materia quest, specifically.) But all the same, I feel like it's important for the game to immediately establish the stakes. With that in mind, I'm picturing a very bleak opening scene. The opening shot could be a close up of some of the Sephiroth clones (maybe a focus on Roche for more of an emotional gut punch?) making their way across a rocky path. Queue a rendition of the world map theme from Disc 2 of the original as the camera pans to reveal the clones' destination: The Northern Crater, in all its mako-erupting glory, and maybe a glimpse of The Highwind circling around to indicate Shinra's presence. From here, the camera zooms out away from the crater, showing the entirety of the Northern Continent and finally settling on the Tiny Bronco making its approach. The engines are malfunctioning, forcing Cid to make an emergency landing either in the ice fields as you already suggested, or somewhere kinda close to Icicle Inn, and that's where the opening cutscene ends. Here we can have a sort of introduction/tutorial where you gotta find some party members that might have gotten separated during the crash landing, kill some monsters or whatever, before the party go to Icicle Inn. During this you can have your exposition dumps, maybe Cloud reminding everyone why they're going to the Northern Continent, or the party talking about what happened in the previous game. Then on their arrival at Icicle Inn, they can start making plans, and you get the opportunity to explore the settlement and all. Then Elena shows up with a few Shinra troop lackeys for the first boss fight, and then the story progresses to the snowboarding mini game, traversing the ice fields, etc as the party sets off for the crater.
They start with tifa and Barrett in Junon and the appearance of the meteor scene. But then it flash back to everything before that like they did in temple of the ancient but it’s gonna be a longer flashback.
I think it’d be best to start off big have them travel through the Northern Crater for Cloud to hand over the Black Materia to Sephiroth. This way they can immediately move to Mideel and then change the narrative to Zack while Cloud is in the coma. Also have a feeling that our fixed party for the final boss will be Cloud, Zack, and Aerith…………
Start it again with Zack in Midgar right away. But now it's sacred timeline Midgar. Remember, Biggs died in sacred timeline but got transported with all his memories to Zack's timeline, how can that not happen the other way around where Zack get's transported in to sacred timeline. He finds out Biggs is dead here but the other Avalanchers who were supposedly dead are still alive. He tries to catch up to that group. Fighting his way on Midgar to get a helicopter. Finds his way to the top, and to his surprise and just in the nick of time, Tifa and the others are back in Midgar as well. Then the game flashes back to Bronco landing with everyone in it. Game starts.
I think we start with Aerith with another movie-like recap to everything that happened. As for the actual start of the game I feel like either another Zack part like Rebirth or just straight up the Tiny Bronco has to do an emergency landing in the mountains and we control... Cid! yes, Cid before Vincent. I think Vincent will be playable after the Northen Crater kinda like Yuffie
Something I want to happen, but it probably won't, is that, since we're dealing with multiple timelines and such, let's visit, the OG Timeline. Go back to the original events of FF7, and start... at the end XD No seriously, the Demo that 7 Re Part 3 will have, as well as close to the beginning, start when the gang originally goes to face Sephiroth. We get to test Vincent and Cid, we get a cool starter by playing as our overpowered original guys(be pretty neat if they had their Ultimate weapons too just for giggles), fight Safer Sephiroth, see the planet get saved, and then transition back to the Re gang That's what I want to happen, and it'd be cool if that led to the OG versions of our characters(in Advant Children gear) interacting with these new RE Guys. Buuuut I don't see that happening, or at least if it does, the way I just described. So who knows what will happen(I know the developers, it was rhetorical XD) Anyhoo, I said a lot so I hope I made sense
So most likely a quick flashback rundown what happened in the previous game but I reckon it be somewhere like rocket town or Wutai then maybe the icIcicle Inn northern cave then so and then eventually we open up more areas we have not been to once we get the highwind and we might even get some places from Final Fantasy before crisis
I think a good idea is for the game to start out as young Sephiroth in the war with Wutai, and then cut to modern day Wutai and see the effects that the early days of the war had on the country. We can have Cid stop at Wutai for a bit before they had to rocket town, then go to rocket town, then go to the icicle inn and then everything leading up to that. But that’s just my opinion.
I honestly have no idea. I've been coming up with all kinds of crazy theories in my head using my imagination! We have A LOT of options and thousands of questions to what will happen in the finale. Like, Is Aerith really alive? Did Sephiroth fail AGAIN? Will Cloud be fully taken over by Sephiroth in Part 3? Will Sephiroth kill Jenova? I believe that Aerith is ALIVE, though. And I think the Aerith that we saw in the ending with the Highwind is the Aerith from Advent Children Complete. And I'm starting to believe that Rebirth Sephiroth is the one from 1997, because I noticed his sword was angled downward when he prepared to kill Aerith. If all of these things take us back to 1997 when it was said we were actually going to head into Advent Children territory, I'm going to be so confused. I also think that the Sephiroth back in Remake, the Unknown Sephiroth, has something to do with Aerith's revival, too, since he made a sudden return and messed with Rufus. He's planning something and I'm just itching to find out what it is. If he returns in Part 3, I'm going to lose it. It would be amazing to see a Good vs. Evil Sephiroth for Part 3, but that's never going to happen.
Before I watch the video. I think Chapter 1 is the following: The game needs to start with a bang! There's no better intro than the Great Glacier. The group is separated. The snow kicks in. I don't think this portion of the game is exactly playable. It's returnable for sure, but this exact story moment isn't. This is how I process this section to go: "Kalm Inn is to the Nibelheim Flashback As the Great Glacier is to Icicle Inn Flashback." I think the story will switch back and forth between the Great Glacier conflict and what led to it. The first time your character is playable is in Icicle Inn. Once the flashback catches up to the Great Glacier, you actually skip the Great Glacier because the cutscenes filled in the dots. The North Crater is Mt. Nibel all over again. The Demo ends before you meet Sephiroth, while the Chapter technically ends after the North Crater. All of this stuff occurs in the time span of 2 hours.
Just finished the video. So you're thought process is exactly like mine. Starting at the Great Glacier! Unlike you however, I don't think it'll be playable right at the start. I'm thinking it'll be a snowboard park. Just another way to escape and have fun later on in the game. Starting the game more linear would be better for a demo release. Having the game restrain you in Icicle Inn and the North Crater would be the best direction. It might not top Rebirth, but it would definitely be up there.
I think the aerith that cloud is seing at the very end of rebirth is jenova working its magic on cloud ready for the black materia hand over in the north crater, i think it will open woth aerith and then on to rufus and hojo
ok. so the gang are all in morning, apart from Cloud. he's all gung ho about going north and defeating sephiroph. When the bronco is downed by artic winds he sugests snowbording to the town at the botom of the mountain. full SSX hype and Xtream style. They then do a bit of tutorial at the snowfields before the rug pull where cloud gives the materia to aerith (sephiroph) and leaves the party sans cloud, tifa and barret. chapter 2 the party steal the hywind. chapter 3 tifa and barret escape... and so on.
It would be really surprising to me, if they opted to take us through Icicle Inn, Snow Fields and the Northern Crater sequence.. *before* giving us any Rocket Town exposition. We can only really go by the OG as our precedent, right? So if we were to that.. I think you could argue that, in many ways, other than Cloud-Sephiroth, and Tifa-Aerith.. Part 3 should really feel like Cid’s game imo. If we line up, what hasn’t happened from OG yet, so much of it revolves around Cid. Cid being playable. Cid’s town and backstory. Cid taking over as leader for the group in Cloud’s absence. Cid liberating the Highwind and making the escape from Junon. Cid hunting Big Materia. Cid leading the party to fight Ultimate Weapon when it attacks Mideel. Cid going to space. Part 3 should have, and imo, needs to have.. a lot of Cid. And so, for that reason, I think somehow someway, the Tiny Bronco needs to be grounded again. Cid realizes they’re particularly close to Rocket Town so he decides to land it there, given that he knows the tools he’d need would be there. Here the group gets their first glimpse of cid’s sour side. You see the Rocket, talk to Shera, etc. when you go see Cid finishing up working on the TB, Palmer also appears and he and Rufus plan on taking the TB. Cid picks up his lance, and the first battle in the game is using Cid. The group pushes them back and boards the TB and flies away, but gets shot down and lands back in the ocean, where Yuffie says they can go to Wutai cause they’re near the continent… and that’s how the Wutai arc starts.
I don’t think Cloud would let them go anywhere but north. He has gone nuts at this point and is hyper focused on chasing Sephiroth up north. Additionally there is an organic time for Rocket Town later and it wouldn’t make ANY sense from a narrative perspective to go to Rocket Town at the beginning of the game because the whole point of going there is to get the tiny bronco and we already have it. Also if it goes Rocket Town, Wutai then Icicle Inn and the tiny bronco is damaged again, how in the hell will they reach Icicle Inn and then the north crater? Nice guess but it’s a bit too out of left field to be viable
Honestly I think they should of ended part 2 rebirth with cloud giving the black materia to seph's real body, then start part 3 with Tifa imprisoned by shinra and the whole "escape gas chamber" scene.
Starting off with a wtf intro like rebirth sounds likely. Anything with cloud I think will be strictly story. The game will finally be open world again once we lose cloud and escape Junon. Maybe Zack will be in the party somehow.
If Part 3 starts with Aerith then maybe we play with her in the lifestream. There’s a war going on in there after all and they showed it to us for a reason.
I think an in medias res first chapter, where you only control Cloud and go to the north crater without the others, with Jenova Death as the level boss and Sephiroth summoning Meteor as the climax could be a plausible choice. There's no real reason to visit Icicle Inn this early in this version: Aerith's backstory is irrelevant to the characters at this point, Elena has no reason to follow them, and the snowboard minigame would not be the best at this point. For a prologue, it could either be Aerith, Zack or even Sephiroth.
It will obviously start with having to buy a new console, I mean who would expect anyone to remake a PS1 game from 1997 and it not take three console generations. Part one of this will need a remaster to look anything like part three and given that the last of us was remastered after a single generation I can see you all buying the remastered remaster.
Part 3 will almost certainly be on PS5, but there will also almost certainly be a PS6 "complete edition" where it's all in one. That's my guess at least.
Just like how Chapter 14 was 90% cinematics, rhe game should begin with a 90% cinematic of what really happened at the temple of the acients. But they're cowards so they will save that for when Tifa does lifestream inception on Cloud.

What about young Sephiroth? That would be the perfect opportunity to expand more on his motivations & details that we got in Ever Crisis, and it would go perfectly with what we got with Zack in Rebirth. And just like with Zack, I'd also love for us to return to playing young Sephiroth flashbacks during the whole game.
I dont think they would have enough time to do sephiroth as a 3rd playable story with the game..they struggled with Zack

I’ve been thinking maybe indirectly, we could get Vincent flashbacks and find out what he actually meant when he said he could have killed Sephiroth several times but never could bring himself to. My gut feeling is that some of those times Sephiroth was probably a child. It’s even possible kid Sephiroth seeing or getting attacked by Chaos mode Vincent is what gave adult Sephiroth such a strong visceral reaction to seeing the mako humans at the Nibelheim reactor. I know if I saw something that looked like a half remembered nightmare creature from my childhood I’d probably freak out.
@cathygrandstaff1957 I do like this ideas maybe not the Chaos bit, but i can see the reasinoning. Maybe if that was to happen, it would definitely be around meeting Lucrecia in the cave to establish the flashback.
It does potentially set something up now he is "security" so actively around the mansion compared to in OG when he gets shot, experimented on, and was sleeping ever since.
I don't know what the very first thing we see will be but I think we will absolutely get snowboarding very early on and I think it will be a deliberately uncomfortable sequence where Cloud is fairly jovially getting into it - thinking he's saved Aerith - while everyone else is grieving.
Cloud and Yuffie snowboarding, Cait Sith skiing on his moogle 😂, and the rest of the party in the bronco, with Barret and Red comforting Tifa, Vincent in the back by himself, and Cid obviously flying it.
We definitely getting snowboarding, at the gold saucer there was a advertisement for it on the wall in wonder square.
The other left field one could be young sephiroth flashback. Depending on what comes out of the First Soldier story from Ever Crisis they might want to explain some of that for those who don't play it.
Not sure, but I really, really want them to go all in on unhinged Cloud. Like, maybe even make him a full on horror character at some points. He should just be eerie af
I really look forward to Cloud's breakdown, and Tifa saving him. Specifically, having the two realize how much they mean to each other - AND how they have hurt each other.
My prediction for the first chapter is a jump ahead to the escape from Junon, and the following chapters would be how they end up there. I feel that they need to start off the game with a bang, and that would be the best way to do it.
This is BOLD but i like it! Assuming you mean Tifa and Barrett are held captive. And while captive, they recall the events that lead up to that moment. Possibly the Icicle Inn along with the Aerith backstory. Then once they reach current time, Cloud is no longer with the crew and they set off to find him. Definitely adds some suspense to the story!

Assuming that Jenova is going to be important in the final game I think one of the best ideas I heard was a flashback opening showing the Cetra defeating Jenova. That would be very cool.
It also wouldn't surprise me if we start in Wutai. Clear from the end of Rebirth that things will be kicking off there soon enough.
If not that, then I think Zack again, and quick confirmation of where he is exactly. I've seen speculation that he might be in the main Beagle world because of the abundance of flowers in the church at the end, but I doubt it. I can't really see him NOT teaming up with Aerith somehow, and he definitely wouldn't be doing that in Beagle.
Zack from rebirths finale, might of finally died, they showed meteor heading right for him.
@@mikeduff2070 yeah but he got pulled into the white space before it impacted, and he was shown in another world again in his final scene. Although we don't really know what's going on with Zack I'd say he's no deader at the end of Rebirth than he was at the start of it.
They were pretty deliberate to state that they did NOT cut any content, just rearranged the timing. The things we missed were Rocket Town and Bone Village. Bone Village was a minigame that had involvement with the return to Midgar. It's also the gateway to the northern continent.
I think they'll land the plane there due to weather and prepare for a Mt. Corell esque expidition into the polar region. Not sure how they'll replace the sleeping forest and Ancient city, but there's that hotspring town from Crisis Core they could visit.
The game is a literaly FFVII sequel. It was confirmed by Nomura and Sakaguchi and Kitase in an interview.

Bone village in the original was there on disc one to get the earth harp to go into the sleeping forest to get to the temple aerith is praying in, we didnt go there at all for a earth harp, which was odd. In my oppinion blone village might be kept out.
Possibly land in modeoheim, because its some old entry on Cid's maps/charts that he's never been to. Hoping to refuel, they instead find monsters and hints of past events. This serves as the tutorial area? Then make their way to Icicle Inn on foot because the bronco remains unfueled?
Makes sense to start that journey to northern crater and lose Cloud from the party early on. If I’m hedging bets then I think we start literally where we ended rebirth. On the bronco heading to icicle inn.
I always imagined us starting where we left off with Aerith….maybe get a hint about what’s going on with her, and then go back to the party and see how effed up Cloud is and how the party is super uneasy about what’s happening with him. Probably ask Tifa lowkey what his deal is or something, and she’d just sigh and not know what to say. Lots of unhinged Cloud moving forward and sketched out party. Maybe a snow storm will make them stop flying the Tiny Bronco and they’ll have to trek it on foot.
Remake ended with Zack and Rebirth started out with Zack, so I think part 3 starts with Aerith.
Yeah I'm thinking small Aerith cutscene and then into a Cloud centric tutorial, that'd be my guess so far.
This is pure speculation. Rebirth started with a different perspective of the highway scene and I think this time we'll see the forgotten capital sequence through the eyes of Cid and Vincent since they were excluded of the multi-stage boss-fight. To follow up, some action with Aerith. Afterwards you continue with the party in the Icicle Inn where Vincent will share his past with Sepiroth and we get a flashback of Vincent as a Turk confronting Hojo where you learn to play as Vincent. I think Cid will have his own DLC between Rebirth and part 3, to get more backstory on Ifalna and his dream to go into space and how Shinra crushed it.
Not sure about the opening, but i suspect the party will continue to have the Tiny Bronco at their disposal all the way up to the Junon rescue sequence. It will be damaged either leading up to them infiltrating Junon to rescue Tifa and Barret, or during the actual event, thus prompting Cid to pivot and commandeer the Highwind. But remember there are 7 days during that time that are unaccounted for, as we begin from Tina's POV waking up from her 7 day coma. A lot must have happened with the rest of the party during that time.
I feel they’re going to throw something totally out of left field that we weren’t expecting. Maybe start in Rocket Town? Like a pit stop to refuel-then suddenly finding themselves chased by ShinRa troops. But then how would that transition to the snow fields…agh boo never mind! 😂

I honestly can’t see how they would. They are on the northern continent headed towards the Icicle Inn which is further north. To go to rocket town (of the large area in the western continent which is undiscovered in Rebirth is the Rocket Area) they’d have to literally go the opposite direction then come back again.
The way I see it starting is that the party is flying the tiny bronco but a blizzard in the area forces them to land in threat of death. They land and stumble into Icicle Inn where they are greeted and find the Gast taped before Shinra, hot on their tails as usual show up and force them to escape on a snowboard and end up in the great glacier, exactly how it happened in the original and it makes sense. Also they could have the tutorial fight be against Shinra grunts and Elena . Then chapter 1 continues as the party tries to find their way out of the great glacier and ends with a boss fight against something (because there is no boss to use from the original) and after the fight they pass out from the cold and the beginning of chapter 2 is them waking up in Mr Holzoff’s cabin
Rocket Town was what I was thinking too. But maybe they are just going to skip Cid and Shera's relationship because well...

I think it would be ether one of these three. A flash back with Zack of what acutely happen in Mt. Nibel, or a flash back with Vincent, and last a flash back with Yuffie before she left to midgar. I think one of the first two options is more likely
I feel like they'll likely do something semi-vanilla like opening in the north snow fields or something along those lines to give us a tutorial, but I hope before we get something off the rails before that. Maybe something showing the different "worlds" falling apart or merging and the effects on those worlds on the "main" one? Would be interesting to show the stakes of the worlds merging a bit and maybe give us a little tease as to what could happen with Aerith and Zack for the rest of the game. Probably wishful thinking since I am hoping they change things up from the OG (likely a minority view so if everyone else wants it to be straight forward, I'd certainly understand that), but if they're ever going to make the different themes, worlds, etc. mean something, they might as well start from the beginning of part 3?

I really hope Final Fantasy VII rebirth wins Game of the Year of 2024. For remake part 3 we might play Young sephiroth from ever crisis as a flashback because ever crisis is also going to be leaning into ff7 remix Trilogy similar to how Kingdom Hearts does its thing but ff7 has its own set of titles. For the 30th anniversary flash the 30-year cook. Feels like Gi natok is the narrator for the first teaser trailer for ff7 remake back in 2015

Cloud isn’t mentally prepped to do a snowboard race with Zack right now. Therefore the icicle inn/Gaea’s cradle stuff must be reserved for later in the game (maybe approach for northern crater.)
Hence the tiny bronco will in fact fly to whirlwind maze and drop the party there as the tutorial dungeon. Because why not.

On topic: Cold open to set the scene for the upcoming war; jump between Wutai and the Shinra board room, perchance even Rocket town, before coming to the party doing the "last time on Dragon Ball Z" necessaries as they hit the Tiny Bronco limits and tutorializing en route to Icicle Inn.
They'd wanna match the energy of Rebirth's opening, so political intrigue seems like the most practical way to do so (the understated return of S-Glenn strategizing some teaser-y thing), though all things Zack are a huge X-factor.

I think we will get a brief glimpse of something with Aerith before going to Cloud and the party most likely icicle inn, I think showing something of Aerith early even a small glimpse will hook people in to trying to figure out what’s going on and builds up the mystery,
They could potentially expand the icicle inn area around it make it a region like the areas on rebirth which gives opportunity for some tutorial stuff before moving on
I'm still hoping for that possible Rocket Town DLC. They can deny no DLC all they like - I believe it's happening!
Aerith or Young Sephiroth beginning Re-Three would be sick. Even if the Zack sequence at the church began the game, that too would time nicely with the aftermath of Aerith's death. How cool would it be to see what happens next?!

The thing that I felt Rebirth was missing was the chance to explore the City of Ancients. I hope they give us a chance to explore the city at some point during the next game.

I think It'll open with the focus on Clouds deteriorating mental state. Maybe through some kind of flashback, showing how he is in denial of Aerith's passing. How he is content with the current situation, much to his companions concern and frustration. Tifa especially so.
Depends if we get a vincent dlc like intergrade.

For me personally, I would like to see it start with Aeriths death scene with Clouds dialogue as the actor did confirm he already did the lines for that scene.
After Clouds dialogue ends, the scene transitions to him in present day where he and the gang are in the Tiny Bronco on their way North. Cloud and Aerith have a chat (only Cloud can see her) and whilst this is happening, it pans to Tifa whose looking at Cloud with concern.
Cid then warns everyone that they are flying into a snow storm and is forced to land once it gets worse, landing them at Icicle Inn. The group journey through the Great Glacier with Tifa getting more worried about Clouds mental state as they arrive at the Northern Crater.
The group journey through it and battle a new variant of Jenova called Jenova DEATHBRINGER, they encounter Shinra and Cloud learns the truth of who he is before passing the Black Materia to the crystallized and real Sephiroth.
The Weapons awake and Tifa and Barret wake up in Junon as prisoners of Shinra with Barret revealing the meteor, with the title of the game being revealed before cutting to black where white text appears bearing an ominous message, *"7 DAYS REMAIN"*
My dream start for Part 3:
Opens with Suddenly seeing two swords clashing. The camera pulls back and we see we are controlling Sephiroth in a flashback of him on a mission with Angeal and Genesis and having a sparring match to kill some time, which could be used to introduce new battle machanics which they will add for part 3 to the player. A curveball like Start like rebirth did with Zack. Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.
I’ve been thinking they might speed-run getting to the Northern Crater to deliver the Black Materia. If that’s the case what’s most likely to happen is the group is flying toward the crater in the Tiny Bronco, they see the Black Robes traveling beneath them and Cloud ends up forcing them to land. I think snowboarding will probably be something we get to as an optional minigame but it won’t be required like it was originally.
We definitely need more of Zack. Felt sorry for him barely being involved in Rebirth.
A short series Sector 6 thoughts is always a good way to start the day!
I'm going to guess, we start with a Rufus and Turks scene when Shinra is preparing for war and a journey north. Rufus might have his first fleeting moment of doubt about what he is overseeing.
I think then it will go to Cloud and the party, but there might be short interludes with Zack or Aerith. I think the Bronco will crash near the Modeoheim lab. There Cloud will see some old failed experiments of Hojo's where he was clearly trying to create Soldiers out of monsters, just like Genesis falsely believed project S to be about when he told Sephiroth in CC. What ever he saw here many years ago, Cloud will see too. This will give Sephiroth more solid ammo to mess with him, because until Cloud and Tifa realize Cloud was a regular trooper, Sephiroth is holding all the Queen's Blood cards lol. Modeoheim is also where Cloud and Zack met, and a lab means monsters and tutorials!
So, very beginning with Rufus, quickly into Cloud and party with interludes in chapter 1.

I've got three alternative opening options for you!
1. Tifa! Cloud is in a very bad state at the end of Rebirth and it's pretty apparent that the other party members are both aware of it and have talked amongst themselves about how Cloud isn't okay. Plus we know that Cloud isn't a reliable narrator so seeing he from an external perspective can really hammer that home.
2. Young Sephiroth! I'm sure this will come up again in the comments, but seeing how much they've been fleshing out Sephiroth and his backstory makes it an easy choice. Plus we can find out what Sephiroth's actually goal for Cloud is. "Lend me your strength" indeed.
3. Cloud! But not just any Cloud. Advent Children Cloud in the last fight versus Kadaj before he becomes Sephiroth. Bonuses as a tutorial boss battle. Cut it right as Sephiroth manifests.
My theory is that they will start the game with the group stopping to rest and recouperate in Rocket Town and Yuffie will steal their materia and run back to Wutai since she believes she doesnt have a chance to get the black materia anymore (they made tons of hints at this being her goal in Rebirth and they mentioned that the borders are going to close soon with the war coming again). This sets the game up to start you from ground zero with equipment and materia, plus a chance to do combat and game mechanics tutorials as you try and cross borders. Them crossing the border could also lead to Shinra shooting down the Tiny Bronco and leaving you without that transportation. The group being down two members (Aerith and Yuffie) would give them an opening to add Vincent and Cid as playable characters.

The game is going to start with Professor Gast with Ifalna to Lore dump the situation that is to come with Jenovah. Then for some reason i just picture Cloud in a Parker, as the plane has conked out again and have to traverse to icycle inn.
Or something with Tifa introducing her mistrust in Cloud with the gang in the same sense as Aerith and Tifa in Kalm. But more intense to the point of burning bridges
Edit: as the days since my previous comment. I like the idea now of cloud seeing flashes of Aeriths death. Like he did in the Remake seeing the Original Game. But having to deal with seeing these flashes and the communication of this new Aerith and having to deal with this, confusing him even more. Talking to the crew like she's still alive and as always they stay silent allowing him to believe it. Which creates "what is real and what is fiction"
The devs mentioned that part3 will focus mainly on Sephiroth so i have a feeling that the first thing we will see will definitely be him or maybe him and Aerith in The LS arguing at some point giving us some more context of the re trilogy potentially being a sequel / post Ac/DoC
I think it would be a pretty missed opportunity not to set up Tifa's perspective first, considering everything that happens later. Tifa's point of view when finding Aerith's parentage in Icicle Inn while a mission-obsessed Cloud glosses over it would be a good place to start the game.
I think we do start Cloud's party landing in the Icicle Area airstrip and Icicle Inn.
The actual start of the game will most definitely be either a Zack or Aerith segment like you suggested.
If the lifestream theory proves to be correct, Zack and Aerith may even meet up in that opener to parallel him losing her in the Rebirth opening
With Cloud & co. pulling some mad tricks as they snowboard down the mountain, obviously. That's easily one of the most iconic moments of the original game, along with the crossdressing sequence and Hell House.
This is probably the most interesting question about part 3 for me. At the end of Rebirth Cid fixes the Bronco and Cloud says they need to head north to chase Sephiroth. I think it would be weird for them to start the game with the Bronco breaking down again. But it kind of needs to be unusable to have the party explore the northern continent.
Maybe the party starts by landing at Icicle Inn because the Bronco can’t fly beyond it due to a snowstorm. You could have the Professor Gast backstory, a run in with the Turks, and give the player an excuse to explore the open world area south of Icicle Inn.
Then, snowboarding can close out the chapter or be the start of chapter 2. People complain that it would be an odd tonal shift but it could be a good way for the party to be reminded that they can still have fun after spending a chapter lamenting Aerith’s death.
Also, I do think starting with an Aerith & Zack prologue would be a good thing to provide a combat tutorial & to set the stakes for the game going forward. An Icicle Inn chapter wouldn’t have the same energy as the opening bombing run or Nibelheim flashback

I think Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will kick off with a Zack-focused opening to set the tone. After that, the main party will likely arrive at Rocket Town, since that whole section was skipped in Part 2. Maybe they stop there because Cid needs to refuel or make additional repairs. From there, we'll go on slight missions to get the vincent and Cid tutorial. As they leave, the Tiny Bronco gets shot down after the boss fight with that turd, forcing the party to crash land in the mountains. From there, they’ll have to navigate the area leading them somewhere near Icicle Inn.
Cloud gets back up after having one huge acid trip passing out before setting the bomb at the first reactor mission. What? I can still long for a true remaster.
It will be Tifa waking up in Junon for the meteor reveal (like I don't see how that isn't the title stinger). Then it will say one week prior or something to that effect and either show us the events of the icicle area or Wutai.
I think we'll start in the ice village much like we did with Kalm. But I think there will be a lot of story for the likely still grieving party. Then I think some fighting with Shinra ending on a boss fight with Elena, before the possible snow boarding event. I can't wait to see the W's (trying not to spoil) and the two headed dragon was my favorite boss, so I'm excited for that too
It looks like Part 3 has a LOT of ground to cover (two discs worth of content from the original). Given what they've set up in Remake and Rebirth, it's inevitable that some of this will be cut and/or rearranged (looking at the Big Materia quest, specifically.) But all the same, I feel like it's important for the game to immediately establish the stakes. With that in mind, I'm picturing a very bleak opening scene. The opening shot could be a close up of some of the Sephiroth clones (maybe a focus on Roche for more of an emotional gut punch?) making their way across a rocky path. Queue a rendition of the world map theme from Disc 2 of the original as the camera pans to reveal the clones' destination: The Northern Crater, in all its mako-erupting glory, and maybe a glimpse of The Highwind circling around to indicate Shinra's presence. From here, the camera zooms out away from the crater, showing the entirety of the Northern Continent and finally settling on the Tiny Bronco making its approach. The engines are malfunctioning, forcing Cid to make an emergency landing either in the ice fields as you already suggested, or somewhere kinda close to Icicle Inn, and that's where the opening cutscene ends. Here we can have a sort of introduction/tutorial where you gotta find some party members that might have gotten separated during the crash landing, kill some monsters or whatever, before the party go to Icicle Inn. During this you can have your exposition dumps, maybe Cloud reminding everyone why they're going to the Northern Continent, or the party talking about what happened in the previous game. Then on their arrival at Icicle Inn, they can start making plans, and you get the opportunity to explore the settlement and all. Then Elena shows up with a few Shinra troop lackeys for the first boss fight, and then the story progresses to the snowboarding mini game, traversing the ice fields, etc as the party sets off for the crater.

They start with tifa and Barrett in Junon and the appearance of the meteor scene. But then it flash back to everything before that like they did in temple of the ancient but it’s gonna be a longer flashback.

I think it’d be best to start off big have them travel through the Northern Crater for Cloud to hand over the Black Materia to Sephiroth. This way they can immediately move to Mideel and then change the narrative to Zack while Cloud is in the coma.
Also have a feeling that our fixed party for the final boss will be Cloud, Zack, and Aerith…………
Start it again with Zack in Midgar right away. But now it's sacred timeline Midgar. Remember, Biggs died in sacred timeline but got transported with all his memories to Zack's timeline, how can that not happen the other way around where Zack get's transported in to sacred timeline. He finds out Biggs is dead here but the other Avalanchers who were supposedly dead are still alive. He tries to catch up to that group. Fighting his way on Midgar to get a helicopter. Finds his way to the top, and to his surprise and just in the nick of time, Tifa and the others are back in Midgar as well. Then the game flashes back to Bronco landing with everyone in it. Game starts.
I think we start with Aerith with another movie-like recap to everything that happened. As for the actual start of the game I feel like either another Zack part like Rebirth or just straight up the Tiny Bronco has to do an emergency landing in the mountains and we control... Cid! yes, Cid before Vincent. I think Vincent will be playable after the Northen Crater kinda like Yuffie
Something I want to happen, but it probably won't, is that, since we're dealing with multiple timelines and such, let's visit, the OG Timeline. Go back to the original events of FF7, and start... at the end XD
No seriously, the Demo that 7 Re Part 3 will have, as well as close to the beginning, start when the gang originally goes to face Sephiroth. We get to test Vincent and Cid, we get a cool starter by playing as our overpowered original guys(be pretty neat if they had their Ultimate weapons too just for giggles), fight Safer Sephiroth, see the planet get saved, and then transition back to the Re gang
That's what I want to happen, and it'd be cool if that led to the OG versions of our characters(in Advant Children gear) interacting with these new RE Guys.
Buuuut I don't see that happening, or at least if it does, the way I just described. So who knows what will happen(I know the developers, it was rhetorical XD)

So most likely a quick flashback rundown what happened in the previous game but I reckon it be somewhere like rocket town or Wutai then maybe the icIcicle Inn northern cave then so and then eventually we open up more areas we have not been to once we get the highwind and we might even get some places from Final Fantasy before crisis
I think a good idea is for the game to start out as young Sephiroth in the war with Wutai, and then cut to modern day Wutai and see the effects that the early days of the war had on the country. We can have Cid stop at Wutai for a bit before they had to rocket town, then go to rocket town, then go to the icicle inn and then everything leading up to that. But that’s just my opinion.
I honestly have no idea. I've been coming up with all kinds of crazy theories in my head using my imagination! We have A LOT of options and thousands of questions to what will happen in the finale. Like, Is Aerith really alive? Did Sephiroth fail AGAIN? Will Cloud be fully taken over by Sephiroth in Part 3? Will Sephiroth kill Jenova?
I believe that Aerith is ALIVE, though. And I think the Aerith that we saw in the ending with the Highwind is the Aerith from
Advent Children Complete. And I'm starting to believe that Rebirth Sephiroth is the one from 1997, because I noticed his sword was angled downward when he prepared to kill Aerith. If all of these things take us back to 1997 when it was said we were actually going to head into Advent Children territory, I'm going to be so confused.
I also think that the Sephiroth back in Remake, the Unknown Sephiroth, has something to do with Aerith's revival, too, since he made a sudden return and messed with Rufus. He's planning something and I'm just itching to find out what it is. If he returns in Part 3, I'm going to lose it. It would be amazing to see a Good vs. Evil Sephiroth for Part 3, but that's never going to happen.

Before I watch the video. I think Chapter 1 is the following:
The game needs to start with a bang! There's no better intro than the Great Glacier. The group is separated. The snow kicks in. I don't think this portion of the game is exactly playable. It's returnable for sure, but this exact story moment isn't.
This is how I process this section to go:
"Kalm Inn is to the Nibelheim Flashback
As the Great Glacier is to Icicle Inn Flashback."
I think the story will switch back and forth between the Great Glacier conflict and what led to it. The first time your character is playable is in Icicle Inn. Once the flashback catches up to the Great Glacier, you actually skip the Great Glacier because the cutscenes filled in the dots. The North Crater is Mt. Nibel all over again.
The Demo ends before you meet Sephiroth, while the Chapter technically ends after the North Crater. All of this stuff occurs in the time span of 2 hours.

Starting at the Great Glacier! Unlike you however, I don't think it'll be playable right at the start. I'm thinking it'll be a snowboard park. Just another way to escape and have fun later on in the game.
Starting the game more linear would be better for a demo release. Having the game restrain you in Icicle Inn and the North Crater would be the best direction. It might not top Rebirth, but it would definitely be up there.

I think the aerith that cloud is seing at the very end of rebirth is jenova working its magic on cloud ready for the black materia hand over in the north crater, i think it will open woth aerith and then on to rufus and hojo
Tifa and Cloud better be having a long ass sequence under the highwind.
I have a feeling that this will be optional, since you had your choice of preferred companion in both Remake and Rebirth.
ok. so the gang are all in morning, apart from Cloud. he's all gung ho about going north and defeating sephiroph. When the bronco is downed by artic winds he sugests snowbording to the town at the botom of the mountain. full SSX hype and Xtream style. They then do a bit of tutorial at the snowfields before the rug pull where cloud gives the materia to aerith (sephiroph) and leaves the party sans cloud, tifa and barret. chapter 2 the party steal the hywind. chapter 3 tifa and barret escape... and so on.
It'll begin with Cloud and the gang Carving up white powder on the slopes

It would be really surprising to me, if they opted to take us through Icicle Inn, Snow Fields and the Northern Crater sequence.. *before* giving us any Rocket Town exposition. We can only really go by the OG as our precedent, right? So if we were to that.. I think you could argue that, in many ways, other than Cloud-Sephiroth, and Tifa-Aerith.. Part 3 should really feel like Cid’s game imo.
If we line up, what hasn’t happened from OG yet, so much of it revolves around Cid. Cid being playable. Cid’s town and backstory. Cid taking over as leader for the group in Cloud’s absence. Cid liberating the Highwind and making the escape from Junon. Cid hunting Big Materia. Cid leading the party to fight Ultimate Weapon when it attacks Mideel. Cid going to space. Part 3 should have, and imo, needs to have.. a lot of Cid. And so, for that reason, I think somehow someway, the Tiny Bronco needs to be grounded again. Cid realizes they’re particularly close to Rocket Town so he decides to land it there, given that he knows the tools he’d need would be there. Here the group gets their first glimpse of cid’s sour side. You see the Rocket, talk to Shera, etc. when you go see Cid finishing up working on the TB, Palmer also appears and he and Rufus plan on taking the TB. Cid picks up his lance, and the first battle in the game is using Cid. The group pushes them back and boards the TB and flies away, but gets shot down and lands back in the ocean, where Yuffie says they can go to Wutai cause they’re near the continent… and that’s how the Wutai arc starts.
I don’t think Cloud would let them go anywhere but north. He has gone nuts at this point and is hyper focused on chasing Sephiroth up north.
Additionally there is an organic time for Rocket Town later and it wouldn’t make ANY sense from a narrative perspective to go to Rocket Town at the beginning of the game because the whole point of going there is to get the tiny bronco and we already have it.
Also if it goes Rocket Town, Wutai then Icicle Inn and the tiny bronco is damaged again, how in the hell will they reach Icicle Inn and then the north crater?

Honestly I think they should of ended part 2 rebirth with cloud giving the black materia to seph's real body, then start part 3 with Tifa imprisoned by shinra and the whole "escape gas chamber" scene.

Starting off with a wtf intro like rebirth sounds likely. Anything with cloud I think will be strictly story. The game will finally be open world again once we lose cloud and escape Junon. Maybe Zack will be in the party somehow.
If Part 3 starts with Aerith then maybe we play with her in the lifestream. There’s a war going on in there after all and they showed it to us for a reason.
I think an in medias res first chapter, where you only control Cloud and go to the north crater without the others, with Jenova Death as the level boss and Sephiroth summoning Meteor as the climax could be a plausible choice. There's no real reason to visit Icicle Inn this early in this version: Aerith's backstory is irrelevant to the characters at this point, Elena has no reason to follow them, and the snowboard minigame would not be the best at this point.
For a prologue, it could either be Aerith, Zack or even Sephiroth.

It will obviously start with having to buy a new console, I mean who would expect anyone to remake a PS1 game from 1997 and it not take three console generations. Part one of this will need a remaster to look anything like part three and given that the last of us was remastered after a single generation I can see you all buying the remastered remaster.
Part 3 will almost certainly be on PS5, but there will also almost certainly be a PS6 "complete edition" where it's all in one.
That's my guess at least.

Just like how Chapter 14 was 90% cinematics, rhe game should begin with a 90% cinematic of what really happened at the temple of the acients. But they're cowards so they will save that for when Tifa does lifestream inception on Cloud.
