I do agree with you on the UI going a bit overboard in the sense that everything is moving even the borders on the dialog boxes have little animations. Other than that I loved it, the setting has me real curious to explore the world. Sure there's that one character that you kinda know what's gonna happen with as soon as you meet him but the plot looks interesting.
Oh yeah the concept is great, it was just a few things early in the demo that I thought were obviously going to happen and then they did. But again, mega early in the game so hopefully not an issue deeper in.
Good video, totally get you on the visual business and too fast, I feel a little bit like that with FF7 as well, I could do with like 75% speed mode or something so I can enjoy the animations more.
I saw everything but the giant head in the sky coming. They also show a lot of everything early on in trailers and such which might have helped make everything guessable. Music is weird but great as you said. Am I wrong that in persona 5 if you overleveled the characters you could kill them in the overworld? the overworld combat seems the same except you have to actually swing and fight more.
I think you could if you were over levelled but this just feels like I can stomp 50% of the enemies with minimal effort. Mixed feelings on that aspect, but overall I'm a fan of the demo and looking forward to the full game, it looks wild!
As someone who enjoyed Fire Emblem: Three Houses (mostly for the grid-based battle system), but normally doesn't care for anime-style RPGs, should I give this one a go?
I'd say at the very least it'd be worth giving the demo a go, it gives you a good cross section of the gameplay loop so should be helpful in making a decision. If you dislike Persona/SMT then maybe not? But still I'd say check out the demo!

Yeah the world and plot are super interesting, can't wait to dive into it and see what twists and turns there are.
I know you said about predictable but the giant monster threat is so interesting and sounds like nier lmao

@@Sector6UKnot necessarily a bad thing if it’s done well. I also could see where it was going but was engrossed in the world and enjoying the ride.
It's because it's what's called hybrid-combat. This style of combat is to supposedly "speed things up" Trails through Daybreak also did it.
Oh I get what it is, it's just awful lol.
@@Sector6UK Fair enough. I like it much better with Daybreak. But I do like Metaphor a fair bit too
The jarring part is persona cut scenes play out.... when you thought you were not playing one haha

Are there random encounters in this game? It looks fun, but if it's only overworld enemies, im not interested.

Dont like persona, and this game is pure persona
Yeah if you're not into persona then this one might not be for you
