the blade piece in Masamune’s chest is young Sephiroth’s sword. In the previous chapter when encountering Masamune for the first time, Sephiroth tries one final strike and you hear a clinging sound. Masamune took the strike to the chest but it snapped Sephiroth’s sword in half. The top being lodged in his chest. You can see it as Masamune jumps away
Don't forget that the sephiroth clone can change their face to sephiroth because they have jenova cells, (even the monsters that has angeal dna in CC can to some degree ) so maybe the original face of alissa is different from the face that the party see from her. I believe, Jenova has changed alissa's face via the cell in her body, so that Jenova can manipulate Sephiroth more easily.
For Angeal's dream, I don't sure about it, but maybe Jenova now still try to rewind his memory, because she didn't have direct connection with him like between her and Sephiroth, so now, all she can do is seeing Angeal's memories. But we can saw that Aliisa (that also maybe be Jenova ) tried to ask him about the Buster sword on his back. I believe that, as soon as she know about the back story of him about his Bustersword and his father have been dead later, she will try to use his trauma about his sword to make him mentally weaker. (But how would she do, I really don't know and maybe this theory could be totally wrong).
Learning about Young Sephiroth is so much fun for me, especially learning where he got his sword, Masamune from! Speaking of Jenova, I've been thinking about this: what if Jenova is the one controlling Masamune? Think about it: I think she's trying to lure Sephiroth to the Reunion. I have a suspicion, too, that she's even controlling Alissa like a puppet, trying to get close to Sephiroth. What I noticed in the cutscene when everyone was cheering for their hero, Sephiroth started to get headaches, which is VERY SIMILAR to Cloud. Cloud gets visions/flashbacks of the past and the future and Sephiroth ends up getting glitches. So something weird is going on. When I watched the Advent Children Complete movie, I heard Masamune 'singing' whenever it struck the Buster Sword. Could this 'singing' have something to do with Jenova calling out to both Sephiroth AND Cloud to get them to join the Reunion? And what about that mysterious 'Aerith' sitting by the lake in Rebirth? I sensed that something was VERY OFF with her!
SOLDIERs going to R&D = Deepground. I think this whole Masamune origin is comically out there. Honestly too much to suddenly turn it into the Demon Sword From Hell, lol. I feel like it would have been enough to say it was just the master work of a legendary Wutai weapon smith. But now it is infused with, what, Jenova or Stagnant spirit energy powers?? the monster that attacked Igara has to be connected to either Jenova or Stagnant spirit energy. Old man Masamune's special attack is called "All-Encompassing Darkness", which I think ties it more to Stagnant spirit energy, Nero, and Chaos, since the power they all wield is purple-ish and called "darkness". The whole Da-chao and Cetra backstory is awesome. I really wish they had made a proper game for First Soldier instead of keeping it behind this gacha model. Also, Alissa is stacked in her character art! Was that also Lucrecia's design? 0__0
Mentioned this on Discord, but i might as well comment it as well for those that dont dont use it- i kinda feel like Masamune's clothes at 17:17 looks a lot like that of the black robes, so i got the idea that he might become the black robe we saw in episode 1s intro cutscenes, especially since Jenova seems to be involved in some way.
Alissa is definitely Jenova. I don't see how this is even a question. Likely she looks very different than what Sephiroth and us viewers are seeing. This episode keeps getting better and better, but damn we really need this on console.
In the intro for chapter 1 you see Alissa on camera and she looks the same as she does now, so that pretty much confirms she's appearing the same to everyone. If it turns out she isn't then they fucked up lol But it could still be an illusion everyone is seeing.
In that shot of Masamune in the flames with the bodies around him, the female NPC to his right has a very interesting color pallet. I'm not gonna over-analyze it, but, you know, you *could*.
i'm under the impression that Masamune (the old man) is synonymous with Odin the norse god and its ff7 counterpart, has 1 eye like the norse god, is a swordsmith so probably crafted himself Zantetsuken, and as for the blade that is piercing his new form i would wager a guess at it being Gungnir which in ff7 is one of his alternate attacks and in norse mythology is what Odin used on himself to gain knowledge of other worlds, a trait which remake Sephiroth also seems to possess probably due to the Masamune sword.

Absolutely agree that Masamune was created by merging a part of 'the beast' (Jenova) into the sword. My addition to the theory is that this was why Sephiroth says he wants the sword "back" - This is the Jenova cells inside him talking through Sephiroth. Jenova cells are always pulled back together - The Reunion.
Interesting anecdote is that the Masamune sword is associated with evil in other things than this game. Also in Chrono Trigger, whoever holds the sword grows thirst for blood. Also on the Japanese legend itself "Masamune & Muramasa" one sword is associated with evil while one is associated with healing. Any more places where this sword is associated with evil?
Alissa has to be Jenova. She knows WAY too much about the past. Plus, she's far too manipulative of Sephiroth to "just be a soldier". And she's the only member of her team to have survived? Nah, that's IS Jenova. The blade sticking through Masamune's chest is Sephiroth's old sword (Nameless) that he broke while fighting him in the previous chapter. That's why Sephiroth is choosing another sword at the beginning of this chapter.
So it is! I completely missed/forgot that it ended up broken off in Masamune's chest. That could go a considerable distance to explaining how from that point onwards the visions Sephiroth has seem to intensify. Maybe that moment created a connection between the Jenova in Masamune (either him or the blade) and the Jenova in Sephiroth. I'm still 50/50 on Alissa but she is mega sus and it's looking more and more likely in this chapter that she's at the very least being controlled by Jenova to facilitate Sephiroth getting the sword.

This entry into your series on Ever Crisis…so good!! 👍👍👍👍
I need chapter 3 now, I need answers!

It's nice to finally learn about Masamune's origins. Alissa's definitely a strange one...
Thanks mate, great video
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Alissa is super sus. She knows too much, is cheerleading Sephiroth too much, I think she's either a personification of Jenova or controlled by Jenova.
SOLDIERs going to R&D = Deepground.

It's definitely possible, although my gut is still saying that the black cloak is going to be Bachman probably.

I really like the Masamune character model. The sword through the chest, with the firey orange corruption around it, is a nice touch.

She is a Jenova manipulation 100%. Great breakdown. I would love to see a video on Wutai history and how it ties into this.

Something feels off about Alissa

@@Sector6UKshe looks like Lucrecia so very easy to manipulate Sephiroth…
I wish Snaps was Bachman instead.
I always just skip the story and watch these instead
beast isnt a term i would use for jenova beast is a term i would use for a summon.....
