Welcome to my local! Cat and Fiddle road must feature in dozens of my videos, even took my advanced test over there. The biggest upset shown on this video was at 0:15 - 0:20 when the council dumped loads of ditch digging waste material taking away one of the best layby's to have a break on, fantastic views and you'd get 3 or 4 wagons on there, now only that little bit remains and is regularly taken up by a car or cars parking right in the middle of it and going for a walk all day. We last delivered to Buxton water plant when they had the extension done. I could not believe how many lorries were loading there, especially when you think all they seemed to have was one 7.5 tonne lorry doing the deliveries in the early days! They must have turned the tap on a bit more! 😉👍The pipe line from the source in Buxton to the plant caused grief and traffic jams for best part of a year as it followed the road. Where you paused on the roundabout you were looking over a recent railway goods type area to ease the train traffic taking limestone up to Manchester and beyond. About 8 or 9 trains a day go from Breedon and Tarmac alone from the two quarries on the south side adjacent to the A515 apart from several from Tarmac a bit further on from the water plant. Yes we have snow, have had for a few days, snowing most of today and still doing tonight, not ventured out since last week. Good informative and entertaining video again and enjoyed seeing some local roads. All the best.

There was a cold war government egg store in Sutton in ashfield, it fell out of use in the late 70s, eventually the vandals got in apparently there where tens of thousands of flat pack cardboard coffins, ready if thh balloon 🎈 went up😊

Excellently informative - thank you. Only last week I was coming down the A1 and am used to looking across the beautiful valley that is the walled gardens at Easton Hall and was completely distracted by "WTF is that huge and ugly eyesore on the horizon seemingly in the middle of the countryside ?"

Fantastic video my mate, I live literally 5 mins away from there. It's not the best of depots to drive around as I delivered a genie lift there a couple of months ago. And as for the new cafe I have not been in there yet but I'm sure I will at some point. I used to work for the man who owns it and had my belly full in the old one a fair few times though. Very interesting, no doubt, I know the A1 and it’s good to hear about what’s just off to the sides. But…at 7.56 you stick in a sort of emoji. Lots of channellers, nowadays, think they are enhancing their vids by doing this. They are not. It’s a fad, an unnecessary, unoriginal way to underline a point, be funny. Perhaps you could consider this in future?

Personally that worries me. Big cold store storing food froxen.. They must know whats coming or they are taking control of who eats and what. Also ppeople dont realize how A1 will beputting people out of jobs. The bigger picture with A1 is so great. We already have machines replaving peoples jpbs in supermarkets, self driving cars will not onlyreplace taci driving jobs but we will be controlled on our far we travel once theyvefinished the 15 minute cities. Its all to make you believe less travel time for us whereas its really a underhand way of controlling your free right to travel. Same with digital money... If you control the money, you control the food supply and whatever else they plan to control, then you control the world and its population. I live in grantham so might nip put there and see how big it looks in the flesh. These elites are already buying up land and getting rid of farms so they can grow more gmo crap and this fake meat etc.. People should be worried rather than in awe of all this A1 tech.. Instead of putting anti slip tarmac on, making turnaround better, cutting tree's down to help see and dry the road better, they shut it to hgvs and caravans. Have you tried the caravan route to avoid it, you should do a video on that. If you coming from South go to Malton - Helmsley. From north come down stokesley. West good luck

Make sure your settings in youtube are set to 2160p (4K) video for the best picture. All of my videos are produced in 4K!

It's amazing, they spend £millions on speed and seatbelt cameras to catch you so they hit you with a fine but cant install infra red cameras at traffic lights to detect vehicle's approaching red lights for them to change if nothing is coming through the other lights, or a cheaper modification is to have lights flash amber after and before rush hr traffic, I know from 20 + years driving abroad that this works well and keeps traffic flowing. Roundabouts with traffic lights always flow better when the lights aren't working, even at peak times.

Until the 1970's the Batchelors Foods factory used to stand where the light industrial factories now stand, with a five-storey office building on the other side of the road. My mother used to work there in the 1950's, where her job was to watch all the peas go past on a conveyor belt and pick out (by hand) all the black-eyed peas. As a kid, I used to climb up onto the low bridge below the site to watch the steam trains to Manchester go thundering past.
