The black cat is becoming a 3 layered over pass / under pass with roundabout in the middle as the interchange. The dualling of the A421/A428 is so that you can go from the M1 to M11/A14 on Dual Carriageway all the way and this final section is between Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet and is the final part that is not dualled. It was planned before Universal bought the land.
I remember about 35 years ago when I started driving - 7.5t then doing removals you could belt down the A1 straight round that roundabout and carry on. It weren't much bigger than the Caxton Gibbet roundabout then. But there was a lot less traffic in those days, but it didn't seem it at the time.
Black Cat, some years back there was a Cafe called "the Black Cat" hence the name. Drove it over 36yrs and I honestly think it worse now than ever with to many junctions making southbound to Bedford a little confusing to those who are not regular users.
If memory serves, it may not! I recall the Ferry bridge to Scotch corner was also constructed in a far shorter time span than half of these 4+ years it’s taking to upgrade current motorway projects. Gods own county getting on with it first time and doing it right 😂😂
I liked this video so I pressed the button specifically for that...
Autoshenanigans is a good channel
It is yes!

It takes its name from a garage / workshop from before WW2.

They are currently taking about 384 years to construct so called emergency laybys 😂
Buy cheap, buy twice.
